September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

need to make sure my black dress pants fit ok.

oh...I still have to check out mine too...thanks for the reminder.

OH that reminds me, guess who's hat was on back order???? But I guess he found one over the weekend while I was in NM - so I can't wait to see it - Jackie - have you seen it? Is it nice?

Nope, didn't see it yet.

Well, I've groomed myself and will get a bite to eat and go into work for half day. I knew there was no way I could sit for 10 straight hours right away. :lmao:

Oh...and to save time PMing...Ian, I got the notation made on the ADRs. :thumbsup2 All is well.

Well kids, I think I had posted a long time ago that we would have a full moon on Castway Cay day....and that is incorrect. It will be a new moon, which means it will be a great night for star gazing! :thumbsup2

Ian...full moon on your anniversary weekend!

.

Glad you are feeling well, Jackie. I think I asked this before and I don't remember your answer. Do you happen to know where we will be docking in St. Thomas?

Donna

Meclizine is the generic name for Antivert. I take Meclizine. I guess Bonine is the same thing then. It definitely works. I always find it a little rough going out the first night. The key is to take it the whole time out on the trip, not just after you get sick. I didn't know that, but had just been doing that anyway. Thanks for all your helpful information.

We take it throughout the entire cruise as well. I have heard that if you continue taking it AFTER the cruise that you don't get the sea legs afterwards. Never tried it as we don't have that problem.

Well unfortunately for us, it has been 3 years since our last cruise. We were on the 11 night Southern Carribbean cruise. The next year we decided to try Hawaii instead of a cruise, and we brought back "a little souviner", just like in the old cruiseline commercial. Then last year we didn't want the expense and hassle of traveling with a 4 month old.

We took the 10 day Southern. Didn't you just love the ports?

How funny about your souvenir. Our DD brought one back on her 2nd Disney cruise. In fact, she brought back two souvenirs..... she had twins.

Huh? I'm confused lol....and sort of bald the Army decided my hair was bad:laughing: So I have nothing against bald people.

I believe my wife was referring to the picture in the post. She must be referring to the body I never had - well I was a bit "buffer" 40 years ago when we married. LOL Sam

I think I'm a terrible sinner since I've cruised way too much in the last few years....5/08, 12/08, 9/09, 4/10 hmmmm never a year in-between, I'm noticing a pattern here :rolleyes1

I want to be just like Nan when I grow up. I want to cruise Mickey's ship every six months too.:cutie:

I LOVED the ports on the Southern Caribbean. I did the 11 night too. Port-wise it was my favorite cruise. I'm booked on the 11 night Southern during Christmas 2010. Although I want to do the cruise, it's really too expensive to do it during Christmas. We'll probably end up not going. I can't justify the expense. It's double the price of the WBPC and that was 15 nights. I wish they would offer the Southern at a different time of the year. Guess I'm going to have to wait for that.

They said so, but they still have to knock through the 2 doors, and it looks like it will be next week now, with a public holiday on the Monday! Lots of work moving bedrooms etc just before we go. It should have been finished about now! Ah well.

Good Luck. Just keep reminding yourself how worth it it's going to be when they're finally finished.:)

You did well to only use 2 rolls of toilet paper over 15 nights Deb !!! I did catch your drift, and we would need a whole multi pack!!:lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: OMG I'm hysterically laughing at your comment Marilyn.....guess we ate less?:confused3:rolleyes1

I know what you mean Deb. It's been over two years since the TA for us. I can't believe it's been two years since we last cruised!!! In a way it seems like yesterday and then in a way it does seem like two years.

I haven't started packing yet. I'm more of a last minute packer. I've started thinking about everything I'm going to take because I don't want to overpack though.

That week before the cruise is going to be a busy one for me, packing and finals!!!!:scared1: That's a lot to think about in one week, not to mention everything I have to have done at work as well.

Wow Emily, saying that it's going to be a busy week is an understatement. Finals and work is enough. Add packing and prepping and I probably wouldn't make it. Bravo for you. You will certainly be deserved of this cruise.....especially after waiting 2 years. :wizard::wizard::wizard:

:worship:God knows I too miss the Magic - last cruise we did was the reunite of the "sisters" from our Double Dip in 06 and it was only a 4 nighter and I HATED that... ok, I only hated the part about getting OFF the ship. My sis-in-law (ex) was with us and we did a WDW portion and that was great - but I really had withdrawls... so that's why THIS cruise we hit WDW AFTER the cruise... I think that will work for me better. :thumbsup2

P.S. FINISHED my 2010 budgets at work - YIPEE - (dislike doing budgets). DONE FINI FINITO:woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2::banana::rotfl2:

Oh, I found my Mickey DCL hat. It was in my carry on bag, hiding on the bottom. I'm glad because I'll need it.

Monica, I hope you found your underwater camera.:goodvibes

How many points?

Woody

You don't want to go there! Really good Jewish chopped liver had outrageous number of points per serving, which is precisely why it has been years since I've had it.

Well I think the kids are already gearing up for the cruise more than I thought. They both turned me down for walking to the beach this morning :scared1:

I guess they're saving it for the cruise now - like "eh, why walk to the beach when we can just snorkel on the cruise trip"

So I started giving DS some assignments - finding maps and learning about the BVI and USVI and the ports we'll be in. DD is investigating sea life and has been practicing drawing Mickey and Minnie all afternoon.

I got inspired by all the people already done with their packing and decided to at least map out in my mind what we will need so I can maybe put out stuff that won't go with me to CA the week before (snorkel gear, beach type clothes, swimsuits, etc) so it will already be ready for me to do the quick unpack / repack on the 11th.

We're getting excited now
