September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

Oh Marilyn, I certainly don't envy you. It's hard enough to exist through the mess of new construction in your home, but to have to pack while it's going on is just an impossible task. You are very brave.

Don't even get me started talking about all the delays. Why do builders always do that....they commit to one job and then leave in the middle of it to work on another one.

We added a room to our home after living here for one year. We took off and went to WDW while the work was being done. It was supposed to be finished while we were away, but when we returned home the job was only half done.

I can certainly relate to your stress at the moment. Don't worry, soon you'll be on Mickey's ship where there's no cares and no worries. You're really going to need it.:cloud9:

I'm trying to keep calm. They aren't here tomorrow so that is another day gone.:confused3 They work so very hard when they are here though and have been very considerate. Very nice guys!

LOL

That sounded to me like a confessional.

"Father, forgive me, I have sinned. Its been a year and a half since my last cruise..."
:rotfl::rotfl:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: hahaha.....YES Kay, that's exactly how it feels. It's just WAY too long.:lmao::lmao:

Well that's good. At least they're nice and they work hard when they show up. Are they supposed to be finished before you leave?

I'm getting ready to pack out my bathroom things....so I wanted to share with everybody THE BEST thing that I brought with us on the PC cruise was two rolls of toilet paper from home. I hate the toilet paper they use on DCL. Since we eat unlike we do at home, we use the bathroom facilities a lot more often....if you catch my drift. There's nothing like having the comfort of a bathroom tissue that you trust to not be too scratchy or too soft. If it's important to you, don't forget to pack a roll from home. :thumbsup2

They said so, but they still have to knock through the 2 doors, and it looks like it will be next week now, with a public holiday on the Monday! Lots of work moving bedrooms etc just before we go. It should have been finished about now! Ah well.

You did well to only use 2 rolls of toilet paper over 15 nights Deb !!! I did catch your drift, and we would need a whole multi pack!!:lmao:

Guess I'm a little eager to get this trip started. It's been a year and a half since my last Mickey cruise. That's just long overdue. I'm used to waiting only one year in between. Can we leave now? :confused3

I know what you mean Deb. It's been over two years since the TA for us. I can't believe it's been two years since we last cruised!!! In a way it seems like yesterday and then in a way it does seem like two years.

I haven't started packing yet. I'm more of a last minute packer. I've started thinking about everything I'm going to take because I don't want to overpack though.

That week before the cruise is going to be a busy one for me, packing and finals!!!!:scared1: That's a lot to think about in one week, not to mention everything I have to have done at work as well.

Marilyn - They are beginning to sound like contractors here in the US.

They are all the same then Ian!! I have decided there is nothing I can do apart from work with it. It will be worse when they are coming in and out of the house and bedrooms when I am trying to gather, organise and pack. Lets not mention the fact that it is a small bungalow with the bathroom just opposite our bedroom and next to the other bedroom. I can see a few problems there too!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

OMG Monica, I hate when that happens. I can't find my Mickey hat. I always wear a visor. I bought a new Tink one in Disneyland on my last cruise and now I can't find my Mickey one. I want to wear Mickey for the sea excursion because I have worn it so many times already it's ok to wear it then. The Tink hat is new and I don't want it to get sea sprayed. I want to keep it clean. So I have to find my Mickey hat. I put it away somewhere while I was in Disneyland and haven't found it since. :confused3

It looks like we'll both be on a mission this week. Good luck with yours. I'll let you know how mine goes. :rolleyes1

Sending positive thought and pixie dust to you!

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:Ok, some of that was TMI!!!!

I decided I was going to make sure my camera was charged (the underwater one) yesterday....I found the casing for it but not the camera itself. Now I don't know what I did with it! I haven't used it since the WBPC cruise in May of last year....where in the world could I have put it???? :confused3:confused3:confused3

That will need to be my nbr 1 mission of the week....also need to do a few more door magnets (made some for Nan :) ), do some more :laundy: & who knows what else :rotfl:

DUDE, you so totally rock DUDE :thumbsup2 Thanks Roomie :goodvibes

Full moon? Very nice.

Also very nice that you and Cheri will be celebrating with us, as you guys were there for the wedding reception.

Still can't believe that we got married a year ago! Still can't believe that we celebrated our 22 year anniversary this past June. Too many anniversaries to keep track of.

:grouphug:

No I was not omitting you, just reflecting back on the original wedding reception.

How could I ever forget about you. It will be wonderful to have you with us celebrating our first year.

I however was chopped liver...and not mentioned :snooty:

last night Paul figured out I was flying on 9//11 (he didn't listen before since he thought he was going to OK that day will Wilson) now of course he wishes I wasn't and I wanna be at WDW will all of you  But I can't really take another week off from mommy duty.

:rotfl::rotfl:

I think I'm a terrible sinner since I've cruised way too much in the last few years....5/08, 12/08, 9/09, 4/10 hmmmm never a year in-between, I'm noticing a pattern here :rolleyes1

We've been through several renovations at Eastwood Manor, so I can really identify with you and what you're going through.

And did you know that chopped liver is one of my absolute favorite things on the planet?

Too bad you won't be there with us on the 4th, but you were one of our wedding planners! And it was a fabulous reception as well. So much so, that we could never really find the words to articulate just how touched we were.

Truth be told, we all know Kelly did it all :goodvibes

I miss Kelly I wish she would come around the Repo thread. We'll have to email bombard her ;)

It was such a nice day. I wish we could have made it to the ceremony, I loved the pictures.

Tell me, getting married after ~20+ years together, did this last year "feel" different???

I'll have cupcakes that day to celebrate with you in my heart :woohoo:

Marilyn, I feel for you too with the renos. I was talking with someone the other day and said I'm too old for house redos, that is for when you are young :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

(truth be told, I'd just rather cruise):lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

:lmao: Well we realy wouldn't have bothered at our great age except we only have one toilet in the place. Soon(ish) we will have a lovely shower and toilet ensuite, and a walk in wardrobe!!

How many points?

Woody

Well unfortunately for us, it has been 3 years since our last cruise. We were on the 11 night Southern Carribbean cruise. The next year we decided to try Hawaii instead of a cruise, and we brought back "a little souviner", just like in the old cruiseline commercial. Then last year we didn't want the expense and hassle of traveling with a 4 month old.
