September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

OH, I almost forgot.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELLE

Sorry I missed it on Monday. I hope you made a very special wish and that it comes true! Don't forget to celebrate for at least a month. :cutie:

I am wearing a wedding dress...very casual one though. DF is doing khaki shorts and a button down shirt.
We couldn't book the ceremony thru DCL b/c they already had 3 for our sailing...so I used a company I found on St. Thomas. It is MUCH more affordable too! Now we just have to make it there....:worship:

If we provide pixiedust :wizard:, can we come, too? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

As a devout procrastinator, I learned this quite young!

.
To my FE team....I've printed out the item finally and will be starting the cutting portion of the project next. I have a co-worker who will be helping me with the final assembly of the FE distribution mechanism. ;)

.

Hey I love it that you have NBC subsidizing my laziness on the FE crafting :rotfl2::rotfl2: Do you think she could come here while I'm crusing and pick up the kids from school too???:lmao::lmao::lmao:

NAN!!! - our docs came in!! :cool1::banana::yay::woohoo::dance3::cheer2:

  :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay:

that is me & you you & me me & you doing the dance

Hi Nan. Hi Kathy.

Nan, how is Speed's arm? I was so sorry to hear the news that he broke it and will not be racing for the rest of this season. That's such a disappointment. He was doing extremely well and he loves it. I feel for the poor guy. Give him hugs from us.

Me and John spent this past weekend trying on cruise clothes. John washed all of his and now I'm supposed to be doing mine. I came on here to play instead. I miss you guys when I'm too busy to get online.

I just checked the calendar....this weekend we'll finish packing our clothes. Next weekend I'll be getting my hair done and the following weekend we pack up the last minute stuff and go. It's really close now.:hippie::banana:

Lucky you! Wilderness is one of our favorites. We are DVC and own there, so we try to save points for our Christmas trip. Always have to visit for an evening, as our favorite lounge server is there.

Our future on this cruise is "so bright I gotta wear :cool2: shades".

Joanie

This is our first stay at Wilderness...We are DVC too, but we own at Saratoga and Animal kingdom.

Hi Deb (& John)

Speedy is getting better every day. He got a cute turtle plush from his friend and I thought of you ;) We go tomorrow to have his splint/cast changed for a real cast and we'll get the instructions for healing from there. All is good, but man does he stink :scared1: Broken arm bad thing for a 9 year old boy, not having to shower everyday :cloud9:

Can't wait to see ya and share our BBC  Well, toast it that is, I'm not sharing mine and I know you aren't sharing yours either

Hi Emily, unless this happened more than once...me and John were on that cruise too. It was an Eastern but I'm not sure what year. We were given a room at the dolphin overnight with a courtesy breakfast the next morning. Then we were given 50% off of our next cruise if taken within one year. That's why we love Disney. It was a pretty bad storm though. The boat was rockin all the way back to PC. They had all open bars....free drinks that last day racing back to PC. So many people including crew members were getting sick. Fortunately for us, me and John were fine. We had a blast.

Yep, same cruise!!!! Sadly, for me I did not handle the rough seas so well. Our waiter that year was the best, he told us one of the best things to eat for seasickness like that is green apples. So here it is lobster night and I'm eating plate after plate of slices of green apples because that's all I could stomach.:lmao: That's the only time I've ever been sick at sea and I consider a hurricane unnatural causes since I'm fine the rest of the time.

So remember that everyone, if you are ever sick at sea and can't eat anything ask for green apples. Worked like a charm.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:Nan, you crack me up. Yes, we will definitely be sharing BBCs but you'll have yours and I'll have mine.

So glad poor Speed is improving. What's the little turtle's name? I have many, but the ones that travel with me are cozy and squishy. They're very comforting to have around.

Sorry about the smell....9 year old boys ya know, it's the frogs and the snails and all that ya know.:rotfl:

That is so good to know. My friend that we were eating dinner with missed the lobster completely too. She didn't know about the green apples though. Thanks for the tip. I'm glad they worked for you.

Nan... garbage bags (with a pull tie) and duct tape... that's how I could shower after having my arm operated on... have Paul go with him cause he's gonna need help...it's a little awkward...

King Arthur and the Witch:

Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighboring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur's youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and, if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death.

The question?...What do women really want? Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch's proposition to have an answer by year's end.

He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer.

Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would have the answer.

But the price would be high; as the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.

The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the witch. She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree to her price first.

The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur's closest friend!

Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc. He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life.

He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden; but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur.

He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the preservation of the Round Table.

Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered Arthur's question thus:

What a woman really wants, she answered....is to be in charge of her own life.

Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and that Arthur's life would be spared.

And so it was, the neighboring monarch granted Arthur his freedom and Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding.

The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the bed. The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened.

The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared as a witch, she would henceforth, be her horrible deformed self only half the time and the beautiful maiden the other half.

Which would he prefer? Beautiful during the day....or night?

Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old witch? Or, would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day, but by night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous intimate moments?

What would YOU do?

What Lancelot chose is below. BUT....make YOUR choice before you scroll down below. OKAY?

Noble Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself.

Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.

Now....what is the moral to this story?

The moral is....

If you don't let a woman have her own way...

Things are going to get ugly!!!

:thumbsup2 thanks for the green apples tip, I'm keeping that in my back pocket just in case for the EB TA next April, but what about missing the lobster dinner :sad1::sad1::sad1: I'd have to rebook for a do-over on that alone :lmao::lmao::lmao: ::yes:: I'm a lobster pig, I order 2 so be prepared :woohoo:

This one has huge eyes, like Bugsy in Bedtime stories. He named it Squirt. You know he has a thing for that movie :rolleyes1 Squirt has been climbing on top of Willie head, Willie keep telling me he just won't stay off. I love that he is still talking about his animals like they are real (becuz they are!!! ;)

::yes:: already have done it. The bag that your clothes come home in from surgery is nice and roomy, dad attached a pull close drawstring thing on it, so it sinches up really tight, don't need the duct tape for just washing hair, we will for the shower for sure :thumbsup2

Duct Tape... fixes everything ;)

No Docs here yet.. in NJ.. Booked thru DCL :guilty:

So who's watching "Bill" and :worship:

Harry and I were on that cruise. I loved staying at the Dolphin that night. It was honestly the best few hours of sleep I every had. I couldn't believe how comfortable those beds were. We were on the last flight for Cleveland out of MCO before the airport closed. We had fun outrunning the storm. Guess we were lucky we didn't get sick. We were really impressed with the way DCL handled the situation.:thumbsup2

Oh, docs came today!:woohoo:

Donna

I attempted to eat the lobster, but not many bites made it down, but at least they stayed down.

So... what's formal night on this shindig????

Sunday night, Golden Mickey's night!!!!

I didn't enjoy missing the lobster either. Like I said I got a few bites down before I switched to the apples. The rough seas definitely were not the high point of my trip, unlike my dh and dad who were up at the front of the ship on deck 10 riding out the waves.:sad2:

MONICA

I got my docs :cool1:

I figured you would get it all, but nope, I got my set today with my own little luggage tags.

I had the worst thought this morning, what if my luggage doesn't make it from my flight :scared1: I so would not enjoy having to buy stuff to wear on the cruise. I'm packing super light since it's just me and it's like I don't have a care in the world. (well except that my luggage gets lost

Taking the boy out for ice cream now.

See ya later :yay:

Came home and as I pulled into the drive I saw an envelope under my doormap. All I could think was "Cruise docs are here!". Yippee, they were!:woohoo:
