ok, so we have everything planned to tent camp the second week of sept. now I'm wondering if between the heat and love bugs we should go in october. However, I read that they are starting a 100 year celebration october 1 which could mean more crowds.??? Is sept. less crowded than oct. anyways? I'm not sure if it will be that much cooler in the second or third of oct. I mean i don't want to reschedule everything for just a few degrees and more crowds. Please advise, this is our first family trip to WDW and I want everything to work out. thanks!!

I can't help you with the heat, but the love bugs are nothing to worry about. You only notice them on your vehicle--they aren't a pest like a mosquito. We had some 'love bug souvenirs' when we got to FW but that's all we saw of them.

The 100 year celebration may be a crowd-drawing event--but you might enjoy it, too. You'll have to decide that for yourself.

Just back--345 days to go:(

We have been to WDW many many times and we have yet to find a BAD time of year to go to this happy place.
No matter what the temperature from sweltering hot (there are many fountains that you might accidently get caught in,wink wink) to near freezing cold (Mexico pavillion in EPCOT sells blankets real cheap by Disney standards) we have always had a terrific time and hated to leave. You will absolutly love WDW and will start planning your next visit before you get home.

Maybe someone else will know better, but I'm guessing that the crowds for the 100 year celebration won't pick up right away. Only the people who are true Disney addicts know about that already. They usually don't start to advertise special events until the get started.

I would stick with Sept. We have gone in Oct. 3 times, and each time it seems a bit more crowded. I've heard Sept is great! I don't think there will be much of a difference in the temp.;) Whenever you go, you;ll have a wonderful time!

Hi,

Sept. is a less crowded month for Disney than Oct. We usually go twice to the campground in Sept.
But, the 100 year celebration should be a lot of fun. Although, if you would rather avoid the crowds go in Sept. and the weather temp. and bugs are the same for both months. Look for temps in the mid 90's and remember it is hurricane season until Nov.!Mmketeer
