Sept or Dec?

Fall/Halloween decorations are out of this world at Disneyland. Not sure if it's the same level at Magic Kingdom or other parks.
If so, go in October. You could catch a Halloween party too.
First part of December is nice and you can see the Christmas decorations. Avoid the second half of the month though.

Our favorite time to go is beginning of December. Weather is cooler/less humid, not hurricane season and all of the Christmas decorations and extras are awesome. September was still hot and humid and the Halloween decorations just don’t compare to the Christmas ones.
