Sept-Dec Room Discounts ~ Information Here

I said change reservation so I wonder if that is my problem. The last time I changed a reservation though I had to get transferred to ANOTHER agent because I have a bounceback offer booked. I'm really hoping that isn't the case now.

I know I have read if you say new reservation you get put right thru
 
Finally got through after 1 hr 30 min on hold. I was able to change my existing room only BC standard room to the room only discount. I was very happy since online did not have the standard rooms available. I saved $130...not a huge amount because I already was using a AAA room discount. I am hoping when my daughter finally gets to Disney this month as part of the college program that I can get an even better rate, but at least I have this if not.

We have AAA but have never used it towards a discount, can you still do park tickets and dinning through that reservation with the AAA discount?
 
Sill on hold here . One hour 48 minutes. Called right at 7. UGH. Those that are getting through did you go as new or existing reservation

I called 407-939-1936 and said "change existing reservation". Took over an hour to get through, but eventually worked.

For a package, it has to be booked through a AAA agent. You can only use a AAA discount on your own for room only reservations.

I ended up on hold for an hour and 20 something minutes. The CM kept putting me back on hold. Around 1 hour and 45 minutes of phone time she told me she went through the changes and before she finished her statement it put me to the survey!!! I am so frustrated! I can't get through now and I feel like I wasted almost two hours of my day for nothing. So upset!
 
Finally got through. All they had for PORFQ 12/9-16 when I got through were garden view rooms.

Couldn't get past the busy signal/all circuits are busy for 21 minutes (started calling at 7 on the nose). Entire duration of call: 1 hour and 37 minutes.
 
I forgot to add that I called right at 7:00, asked to Modify Resort Reservation, and actually stayed on hold forever.

After about 45 minutes, I called again on my cell phone and said New Resort Reservation, waited about 20 minutes on hold and then got a person; meanwhile my other phone to Modify was still waiting. I hung that one up.

But at the very end of my conversation with the Cast Member, I got disconnected. I don't know if my changes went through or not!!!!!!!!!!!
 
called right at 7. 1 hour and 27 minute hold time. CM was very helpful and tried various ways to get us a discount. We didn't want to change resorts for various reasons. The room we already had booked did not have a discount available, and the villas were all booked already. So, no additional discount for us. We had already booked a RO discount with AAA...but wouldn't have minded a bigger discount! Oh well. I may check back in a few days to see if anything has changed and if they can apply a discount. With the number of people who have double bookings now, I'm guessing there will be a good number of cancellations in the next few days once they decide which they want.

Don't know if there's any validity to this, but I said "new reservation" and had to wait on hold for maybe 7-8 minutes before a CM picked up.

But who knows how these things work? :confused3 Their phone system was completely overwhelmed this morning.

When I finally finished booking my reservations, CM told me that they had 1220 people in their queue (at around 7:10 CDT)

Still on hold. Tried at 7, waiting for an eternity being told "all circuits are busy". Finally went online and booked new reservations. Now Im just waiting to cancel my old ones and redo all my requests. Saved about $450 which I am happy about :)
 
Just got through...wow! I only waited 1 hr 40 min. on hold. I was able to add the RO discount to my CR Garden Wing-Deluxe Rooom. I got 20% off. I was hoping for a bit higher, but it is better than the 10% AAA discount I had.

I had the same thing happen! I keep checking my e-mail and my reservation online and no e-mails and the online system reflects my old reservation information. Of course you can't get through to check if the changes went through! I guess I will have to wait until later and hope for the best! I just have this fear that everything got canceled and I won't have any reservation...probably not the case but at this point I am freaking...

I also decided to just rebook online because I am staying from 11/27 to 12/4 and thought that if I called they would make me do two separate reservations(11/27-11/29 and 11-30-12/4) to get the room only discount starting on 11/30.

Online it let me book it paying the full rate for the first three days and then added the discount for the last 4 days all under the same reservation. So now I don't have to check out and check back in to get the room only discount. :thumbsup2

Was on hold for 1hr 52 min before I got through. I had to extend the dates of my stay because room discounts weren't showing up for just a few days at the Poly. I will go back and remove days later. I also had to upgrade to a theme park view room. Not really much of a savings ~$20/night over rack rate garden view but it's a small savings and a better view.
 
After trying for about an hour+ I finally got through using the number 407-939-7675; waited about 20 minutes and was able to get RO discount at Pop applied to my existing reservation! Good luck to all still trying pixiedust:

I was just checking my phone to see how long I'd been waiting (1:02) and hung it up :( Hmm, not one of my smarter moves, me thinks. And this after I had a live person at 7:02 this morning and just before locking the discount I got disconnected!
 
For those who have already gotten thru, if there is no availability online for the resort I'm already booked at, does that mean they won't apply the RO discount to my existing reservation?
 
This thread has taught me to never ever attempt to call Disney to make a reservation on discount opening day.

(Although I should add that the website seems very slow right now too.)
