Sept. 7, 2012 - Magic NYC - Canada

This is a quiet group. DH and I along with a few friends have booked the 6/15 Med Cruise that includes Greece. That thread is up to page 18 :rotfl2: after only a week. Is anyone from this group going on that cruise? Sue

Hi guys -

I thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing! I was just able to switch rooms and grab a secret porthole room so I am super excited about that. Now all I have to do is figure out what excursions I want. Has anyone thought about what they plan on doing at each port? The Disney excursions seem pretty pricey, so I might decide to do something on my own.

We were looking at the whale watching for either port until DH pointed out that we have 2 days at sea and might see them there as well. I am still leaning toward the "Bay of Fundy Whale & Wildlife Watching" or maybe the "Ride the Rapids" if it is offered.

I was thinking of the ride the rapids too - sounds like a fun thing to do with Willie - he can laugh at his old mom out of her comfort zone :-)

:confused3 Why would anyone pay for a night on shore and on the boat. I saw the cost as well and thought the same thing but then someone pointed out that the cost is for up to 18 passengers. I still thinks it's crazy. :rotfl:

I thought this was an Anniversary Cruise and the kids were heading back to CA. ;)

You caved didn't you. :lmao:

Bit of a noob here...where would I find the information on what to pack for this 5 day? I know on the 7 days they have the formal and the semi-formal and pirate nights...but where would the information for that be for this cruise?

thanks.

You can call DCL and ask them if they have this info. I would suspect there would be one dress up optional night and Pirate night and the rest would be cruise casual nights.

Willie looks better in his tux and flip flops & he loves to cruise - so he is my date. not the same kinda love but good nonetheless :lovestruc

Btw - Molly is a bit pissed that she can't go - big high schooler can't miss that much school

Cork, are you on this cruise with us? Thieves Unite!!!!

I love/hate your avitar picture.....the night of the fishies.....one I will NEVER forget!!!!

I was just looking at the shore excursions for this cruise. I see there are a lot of diverse things to do....some of them include lobsters....yum! I'm not sure what we will do. I'm concerned about some of the water activities....going North in September may be a bit cool. Although I did Alaska in April and had a water excursion and it was fine. Decisions....decisions.....so much to do and so little time......

I really need to look at the port adventures to see what is offered. Last time we were up that way we just walked around, might have to do something organized this time.

Aww, I thought those Norwegians were made of hardier stuff. He puts Vikings to shame. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: You can tell him a Swede said that.

I think we are going to do the Top 10 Best of Halifax with Lunch and the Ride the Rapids in Saint John. After the rapids we can go back to the boat if we are chilly.

We originally had this cruise booked for July and we were stressing about the money as we have a Disney Dream cruise booked in November 2013. Doing some checking around I found that if we go in September the price is about $1,700 less.

I am alittle concerned about the weather as September is beautiful in NYC but not so sure about heading up to Canada.

I have not had the chance to read this whole thread but I will over the next few days - just wanted to join in here and find out what everyone's plans are.

Thanks,
Linda

We belong to AAA. I ordered the Atlantic Provinces & Quebec TourBook. We did this for our Carribean cruise as well It gives you a little history, sites to see and restaurants. :thumbsup2
