Sept. 7, 2012 - Magic NYC - Canada

Hi everybody,

unfortunately we will not be on this cruise with you guys anymore, as we have decided to do the NYC to the Bahamas one at the end of August instead. We wish you all a wonderful time onboard, have a great cruise! :cheer2:

So sorry we'll miss you.....enjoy the Bahamas....watch out for those stingrays in the water. (Right Nan!)

Hey Pal - I think we like to sail under bridges together :lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

We are Paul and Nan joining you on the cruise - Deb and John are friends from our Panama Canal cruise in 2008

We are going to have the kids join us in NYC for the long weekend - then we ship them back home for school  and we go to play :woohoo:

This will be our first vaca without the kids and a pre-anniversary 15 years in Nov for us.

Can't wait - I've never been to NYC before so I'm really excited about the land part as well as sea.

Nana, 15 years is very special. We will have to make sure we keep the bubbly flowing at our dinner table.

Do you want to do early or late dining? It doesn't matter to us.

Oh yeah - no Rays

dinner - I really did like that early because it seems like late it soooo late at the end. I think I have requested that - we should link - I'll email you my info when I'm back at my desk next week

Just 1 year from today we will be embarking on this 'magic'al cruise. :cool1:  :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:

To all the NY Dis cruisers wishing you peace and comfort as we approach the 9/11 weekend. Thanks to all who risk their lives for others. I am in the insurance/risk managment industry and had several business assocates that worked in the WTC building. Sue

Thanks for that. Police presence is very obvious in the city today as there is a "credible" threat that the various law enforcement agencies are monitoring.

Early it is then. Sounds good to me. We should link AFTER bookings so there are no fishies.

For those of you that didn't sail on the WBPC with us in May 2008.....we had about 400 DISers on that cruise that talked to each other on the thread. When it came to advance booking.....we jammed the website and it literally took all night long if at all to get something booked. Some were lucky, many were not.....but everyone saw the little blue fishes swim into a Mickey head the entire time they tried to book anything. I think it took me from midnight until 6:00am to get my booking done. I saw nothing but fishies all night long. We all felt like if we saw one more fishie swimming into a Mickey head we were going to scream!

Disney quickly changed their graphic after that incident to the one they are currently using with Mickey swimming. Many of us wrote letters and Disney responded that because many of us had linked within our groups, we stalled they system and crashed the website. We learned, no more linking until after booking.

Another friend of our has booked this cruise. She saw the Wonder in SF this past April when she met us there. DH and her are driving from the west coast to NY for the cruise. Both will be retired in January and this will be their first DCL trip! So there are now 5 of us in our group and we all have staterooms next to each other!

Judy and I will sadly no longer be joining you on this cruise. I really wanted to cruise on the Fantasy and decided on ship/itinerary over embarkation city. We found a 7-day that happens to work out for us better than the 5-day to New England/Canada, so we made the switch. I hope you guys have a great time and if anyone needs any advice on visiting NY, shoot me a PM.

Sorry to hear you won't be sailing, but enjoy your Fantasy cruise. We're booked on the Fantasy for 12/15/12.

Hi everyone! I'm completely unfamiliar with how the dining rotation works on a 5 night cruise. Do you now which nights you repeat restaurants? Also, do they have designated nights for "formal" or other themes. Thanks so much for your help! Can't wait for this cruise.

I would think there would be a dress up optional night and a Pirate Night, with the other 2 nights being cruise casual. I can't remember how our rotation worked on our 5 night last summer, not sure if it would follow the same for this cruise as for a Bahamas cruise.
