The first thing that we'll be doing when we get onboard is go to Signals. I'll order a BBC and John will order a tropical depression. Then we'll get lunch from one of the outdoor stands.....wraps or chicken fingers. We will stay there until our stateroom opens then we'll go down to the room and hope that our luggage is there. I'm not even going to unpack for this cruise. It's only 5 nights. It will go by quickly. Then we'll go to the Promenade Lounge at 3:00pm.

Ohhhhh, I forgot about the BBC :drinking1 - I like your plan, maybe we'll see you there. This is our first trip with any kids, so I kinda forgot about doing adult things :woohoo: plus DH wants to get the beer mug!

The chicken strips sound good too!

We would love it if you and Doug could join us for cocktails at Signals. Everyone goes to Parrot Cay for lunch and it gets crowded. We usually have Signals and the pool all to ourselves. You can either wear your bathing suit under your clothes or put it in your carry on and get changed in the bathroom. I think I'll put my suit in my carry on this time. I'm not sure if I want to go swimming. Then we can do lunch with drinks. Sounds like fun!

Just saw the start of a trip report that said boarding didn't start until well after 12 and that cabins didn't open up until 2:30. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2977619
I've asked the OP if there was a problem that morning that delayed things or if this has been 'normal' for the NYC cruises.

My Dizboards is genequeen19. My name is mindy and my mom's is Pauline. I loved the comment about the Mickey bars.

We actually have Mickey bar bets in our house and a running count of who owes who, do we can be square on our next Disney trip! So thank you for making me laugh after a horribly busy day at work.

They did the same thing for the Hawaii cruise. First onboard was around 12-12:30pm and the rooms didn't open up until 2:30pm.

Have you found it to be different?

We were on the June 2nd sailing out of NYC, and my cousin sailed out of NYC on the very first cruise out of NYC. Both of our cruises started boarding at 12 noon. Our staterooms were ready at 1:30.

Looks like the 2:30 cabin opening time was not the norm for this most current cruise that just returned. Hopefully that will not be the case for our cruise. I just hate to carry my bags any longer than I have to.

YAY!! Good news!!

Here's a funny story.....I was on a cruise leaving out of Florida and we got stuck waiting outside online for over an hour in the rain. They wouldn't let us in the terminal until everyone was off the boat.

Well we later found out that the delay was caused by a bunch of foreigners who locked themselves in the bathroom and wouldn't come out. hahaha. That's how we ALL feel at the end of our cruise.

I need advice! I am trying to decide how to pack FE gifts, including a large # that require special handling. Does anyone know if I pack these separately and mark with distinctive "Fragile" or "Handle with Care" stickers if the baggage handlers comply? I have also read that folks ship their FE to DCL, does anyone have any experience with that, and how I could arrange? How much time is needed if shipping? Am GTY and still don't have cabin #. Any help is greatly appreciated! :confused3

Sounds like a plan, can you believe this is our 6th Disney Cruise and we have never had a drink in one of the bars :confused3, nor attended a DIS meet. I also want to do the spa tour, never been there either. My swimsuit will be in my carry on as well - would love to hit the hot tub :) This trip is going to be so different traveling along with DH. We already talked about skipping the sail away party
