I wanted to share a picture of a door magnet I created, but I can't figure out how to get it in the post. I looked around the boards and found that I have to use photobucket.com, but that site doesn't come up on my server.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Carrie

Kay was nice enough to help me with posting mine. I emailed it to her and poof, it appeared. ;) :) Maybe when Kay gets back, you can ask her for help, unless someone else can in the meantime.

Carrie - the DIS has its own photo gallery like photo bucket that you can upload you photo into and then share on the board. I don't know how to do it, but Mark does. I've asked him to stop by and help you out when he gets a chance (he's in the middle of something right now).

Mary,,, I am a good example of what can happen to you if you don't deactivate your kids card. Billy had charge priviledges on his. His seemed to have lost it for a short while. He did not realize it was missing. When he found it, he did not think anything was wrong. Surprise!!!!! A kid had taken his card and charged $300 for the game room cards without our knowledge. We found out at check out. Disney realized that it was a criminal action by the way the charges were done. They are familiar with it. They graciously reduced but didn't eliminate some charges. The lesson is that you should absolutely not let the kids have charge ability.
Bill

Yeesh Bill. I've seen that arcade, it's not even worth $300.

Now for posting pictures, the dis has a photo gallery here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/

You use your dis login to upload photos, and once they are in your gallery (takes a few minutes, usually, for them to show), just right click/properties on it to get the link to the image for here.

Geez, I would not have been happy. I'm glad that Disney reduced the charges, but if they knew they weren't yours, it would have been nice to eliminate them all together.

Have I read that pre-paid amounts can be arranged so once they hit the limit for the amount, they are done? Is that right?

Mary - congrats on getting published! I love your tip as while we should drink more water we are huge pop drinkers (yes, I grew up in the Midwest) so this will really help Matt and I out. Now we know we can fill up a bottle and head out into town/off to the beach.

Oh and while we are first time cruisers we purchased the passporter already, however, I bet from my questions you can tell we like to ask here first.

Castaway Cay - do we need to pay for non alcoholic beverages while on the island? Snacks?

Thanks!

Nope, they have beverage dispensers and bags of chips etc at the family beach at Cookie's BBQ. They might not be up first thing, they do bring everyting off the ship for it, so you might want to bring something from onboard if you head out early.

Cindy,, I don't think that is correct. I believe it is an all or nothing thing.
Mark,,, am I right? I thought they told us before to either leave it or deactivate it.
Bill

Yup, quite right Bill, all or nothing, they tie all the cards to whatever card you put the info for on the docs, they can't separate cards for a party, only charge or no charge.

Bill, I'm sorry it happened to you and Billy. Looks like Cameron's card will not having charging priviledges. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Thanks.

Cindy - just so you know you can purchase arcade cards that have so much $$$ on them and give them to Cameron. That way he'll have some responsibility but also some freedom to go to the arcade on his own or with friends. The games require the cards to work - they don't take cash.

I agree. It's not worth the potential trouble. I like the idea of the arcade cards. Keeps it under control.

I'm going to try to post a picture of a magnet for the door. Please be patient with me if this doesn't work!
I made several designs, and they all revolve around my poor pooch who has to stay home!

Love that magnet design - we may have to borrow some of the idea for our Dog and Cat.

Bill - that's awful that you had to pay for some of the charges. My parents had a similar experience with us when we were little. Seems my younger sister, at age 5, bought a round of pop and ice cream for the entire pool area at our golf club. We had always been able to charge a few things each day - mostly a drink and a snack - so I guess the staff thought it was ok. My mom received the bill and it was over $300 for that day and she had a fit. She asked Amy about it (note Amy had signed the bill in her big A M Y signature) and she said "I was buying a round of drinks like dad does after a game of golf". Needless to say my parents laughed, quickly cut off our charging priviledges and tried not to buy rounds in front of Amy.

Now that, was a funny story!! Luckily, my 2 are young enough that they won't even get to touch their KTTW cards. Mom and dad will keep track of those the whole cruise. Then, they will become souveniers for our scrapbook.

I need to get working on my magnet designs. My biggest problem is that I got a new computer with XP, so none of my Disney Print Artist software works. Oh well, I'll have to find clip art online.

Try reloading your Print Artist software. I run XP, and I have no problems running Print Artist. Good luck!

Sam's card will also be free of charging powers, but we'll get him an arcade card. For those of you with 10/11 y/o's... are you giving your kids permission to sign themselves in/out of the Lab? I gave ds permission when I registered him last week, but I think we'll put some limitations on when he can sign out, where he can go, and who he can go with.

He's very good about following those kind of rules, and has a keen sense of "stranger danger". ROFL... he accidently went to school in a non-uniform shirt last year, and realized it when he reached school (we lived a few blocks away). His best friend's dad was dropping him off, and offered ds a ride home. DS said "No thank you sir," and jogged home. He came back to the door huffing and puffing and went to grab a polo. Next thing I knew, the doorbell was ringing, and it was the friend's dad asking if it was okay to give ds a ride back to school. He was very impressed that ds turned him down (this is someone he had regular sleepovers with), and said he hoped his ds would do the same. Gotta love it when kids prove that they've actually listened to something you've said!!!
