Parking at the port is very easy. The guys dropped us and the luggage off at the terminal and they went and parked the car while we went in and got checked in. When we got back after the cruise it was a quick walk to the car and we were on our way.

Gail

We have parked at port and you drive up to an area to unload the luggage and one person stays with the luggage and the other can drive over and park the car - it's really easy. :boat:

Wow Gail - that was close - seems that we think alike. Scare you some??? LOL!

We used the new drop off area this past December. Really nice!

Well lets see.............we post alike, we live in the same area, like the same things (WDW), both married to a John - YIKES pretty scarry!

Are you still in Michigan or are you traveling somewhere warm and missing out on all this wonderful snow?

Thankfully we have a cruise to look forward to in 5 weeks and 1 day!

Gail

Mary, what is the new drop off area?

Gail

Gail - wish I could say that I was travelling somewhere warm right now. I was supposed to drive out to Cali this month but it wouldn't stop raining out there. Am hoping to leave for there sometime in the next 2 weeks. Then I was going to drive east and the weather went to yuck so maybe if I leave Michigan for a while, this stuff will stop! One can only hope.
And yes we are pretty scarey if you take all that into account!!! :earseek:

New drop off area? Mary, please tell us more.

Cruise time can't come soon enough for us who are freezing up here!

The new area is right in front of the terminal. We came in a shuttle from Avis. It is a large covered walkway and looked very nice. I know the family in front of us drove their truck so I think you can use it for parking drop off as well but not 100% sure.

As you leave this area they check you off the list and then you just walk up to the building and through the screener. Very quick and efficient.

To give a little more detail than that, the circle right in front of the terminal building is now off limits. They've added a nice, decorative and strudy wrought iron fence along that street that used to divide the parking area from the terminal. They have widened the street and added a very nice canopy along the street and to the terminal entrance doors. This is the new dropoff area, where you drop off your party and luggage now. At he end of the dropodff area you go thru the docs check to enter the actual terminal area. More airport like and much more streamlined. Everyone other than the DCL buses get dropped off/picked up in one place now.

Hi Gail, Are you getting any white stuff up your way? We have shoveled out once this AM and will have to again this afternoon. Hope you are all doing well. We are leaving for WDW next Sun. Dale and Karen will be over tonight Really looking forward to the cruise with you and all our new Dis friends.

Steve

Hey Steve you surfaced!!! You must have won the battle with the sump pump :cool1:

We are getting plenty of the white stuff. John snow blowed our driveway, the neighbors (they're elderly) and he went and did his parents walks & drive (his dad just got out of the hospital yesterday from complications after he had his heart by-pass in October).

Tell Karen and Dale we said hi! Lucky you guys for going to WDW next week - we will be thinking about you!!!!!

Keep warm everyone and think of cruising to CC!

Gail

It's cold and blowing snow here. Let's go NOW! LOL!

I'm all for going on the ship right now - it's so cold and windy and snowy here - I'm not a winter type of person - give me CC anyday!!! :earseek:

Happy Sunday everyone! Another week closer to cruising!

With all the snow we got yesterday I'm looking forward to warm weather and cruisng! Here's hoping everyone who is in the path of the storm (now hitting the east coast) stays safe and warm!

Gosh Mary , I overslept. It's ususual for that. We rely on this message every week so the family going with me will follow. Good morning Mark, you up also I assume. Counting down the minutes for both cruises. The DVC cruise is particularly exciting because of the other family with us.
Bill

I have a question, and thought that some of you might have some good answers. We paid points for our cruise. We will be paying cash for our day before we board (not a big deal - just one night), we have booked 3 nights at AKL-C after the cruise, and we'll be flying down to FL.

DH and I know that we want to purchase insurance. You just don't know what could happen, especially with it being September. What I'm trying to figure out is whether or not we need to go through Disney's trip insurance program, since we booked with points, or if we could use an outside vendor. Do you get a better deal going elsewhere? How do you compute the cash value of your cruise?

TIA!

Forgive me if I haven't looked in the right place, but I was wondering if there is a passenger list for the Member Cruise. We are taking my daughter, 7, and I thought it would be nice for her to have a pen pal or two before the cruise, so that maybe she would like to meet up with them onboard. When we went on our first cruise in 2003, she went to the Castaway club, but had us paged during our couples massage because she didn't like it!

This will be our 2nd cruise, and I am excited--I wish it was next week--this winter weather has me craving some sunshine!

Thanks for your help,
Carrie

Malone, check out page 11 of this thread cgcw sorted the list of the people who mentioned that their children were going to be on board.

Gail

RE Insurance, we have used Travel Guard in the past and had to use it once adn was very pleased with their service and response. I was one happy camper with them and they won a repeat customer.

Emails are out!!

Please reply to it completely, thanks!

When replying make sure you are ONLY replying to sender, not everyone that I've emailed to.

Reply to me there, not in pm's here or thru another email address, I've set this up on a separate computer to help me keep it straight.

IF you don't recieve an email in the next day or so, go to the website and send me one thru the address listed there. http://monorailgreen.info/member2005/index.htm

I really want to help make this a fun time for all and this little bit of work upfront will go far to that happening :)
