Here are the two cross stitch pictures that my mom did, that I had framed.

The silver frame on this picture isn't as washed out as it looks here.

The black mat on this picture is black velvet. In person it's very striking.

Wow. Wow. Double wow!! Beautiful!! Makes me want to work on my castle a bit! Gotta finish my penguin snow globe first. Not too much to go on it. Could have finished it today but I DIS'd too much! ;)

Did the push the pins thru the Litho or are the mounted on something?

They are pushed through the litho and the litho is mounted on foam core board. The lady at Michael's kept telling me that putting the holes in the litho will cause it to lose it's value. I figured I have the other one to keep untouched, but this one is being done for me to keep in my house and it's only actual value is sentimental value, so I bit the bullet and put them on the litho!

Gail, your litho looks wonderful! One of these days, I might figure out what to do with ours. I know Gary could frame ours it's finding the time to do it that's a problem.

Ours will probably sit waiting for something to be done with them until after the next member cruise.

Your cross-stitched art work is beautiful. Not a talent I've every earned. I would love to do something like that but I have arthritis in my fingers (yeah, already at my age  ) so I know without a good dose of Motrin ahead of time, I wouldn't be able to work on it on a spur of the moment.

Gail - all the pictures look great! Beautiful cross-stitch work.

I bought the cross stitch kits and took one look at all the threads, closed up the bag and gave it to my mom. She had them done in a few months. I like cross stitching, but once I start a picture and then put it down - it's ages before I pick it back up again to work on it. I just must be lazy I guess!

Space Camp would be cool but between
1. wanting to do the next Member cruise
2. looking for a house, (and possibly a car since mine has been having some problems)
3. having to go to North Carolina in June for my Nieces graduation
I don't know if the wallet can stretch much further....oh and did I mention we had my oven fixed yesterday because it wasn't working.

Now I feel like crying after seeing all that in print. Well time to look for a second job...LOL!!!!!

Stacy,

I completely understand the idea of finances taking over your life... we bought a new truck last December, and a new house last April!

Speaking of second jobs... someone from the cruise seems to be making a second job off of E-Bay. I had no problem with people selling the extras they got aboard the ship on E-Bay, but someone actually had the AUDACITY to include something I had put in my goodie bags in their auction!!!

I wonder if I should be waiting for a check to cover my "contribution" to the auction. :rolleyes1 Talk about tacky...

Auction with my goodie bag item!!

Thanks - I wished I could say I did the cross stitch! :cool1:

I want to put something on the back of the cross stitch pictures that has the date and my mom's name, but I haven't come up with anything yet.

I'm with you Cindy. All the pics (litho & cross stitch) look great!
I'm still debating on what to do with our litho.

I never got into cross stiching either. To much work for me.
And Cindy don't feel bad about your arthritis, I have it in my hands too and I sure think I'm to young to have it.

BEAUTIFUL WORK!!! :Pinkbounc

THANKS FOR SHARING! :goodvibes

Would you believe... we FINALLY got our Castaway CD??? It was dated 9/19, and we just got it in the mail today. It had been opened, but all the inserts were there.

Now, we've just got to plan our next trip! ;)

Gail - I have a number of wonderful cross stitch pictures in our house - all thanks to my Mother. Looks like your Mom does work as beautiful as hers.

Now I have seen it all.
I'm floored...speechless...I don't know what to say!
I don't know if that is a slap in the face or a compliment.
I do know it's a bit weird if you ask me.

I wonder if your mailman borrowed the cd for awhile! :rotfl2: At least he was nice enough to finally deliver it to you!

I saw the ones at Mark & Mary's. Beautiful work as well.

Weird... you said it. I felt a bit insulted to know that my gift turned out to be something that was good to turn a quick buck.

I've heard of "re-gifting", but this seems a little over the top... :confused3

The horn on the CD doesn't do anything for me....and, sorry, Mark, but neither does yours. I ONLY like the horn if it's proceeded by "This is the duty officer speaking from the bridge. We are about to sound the ships horn. If you are on an open deck you may want to cover your ears." ;)

Since I recorded that facing the horns, unwittingly, it was more like DIVE FOR COVER!!

WOW! :earseek:

Lisa, you and I need to compare notes to see who the recipients of our gifts were. Maybe we can figure out who listed this as I don't see my items in there.

Just how is something you gave to someone considered something which was given away on the ship for the member cruise? :confused3 What you gave to some of us had nothing to do with the member cruise, but more with the friendships we made on this thread.

Like you, I have no problem with someone selling their extras or all of what they received. It's theirs, and theirs to do what they chose with it. But, you went out of your way to acknowledge someone to try and make them feel special about this cruise. Gee, if it were me, I think I'd have preferred to have my gift thrown in the garbage instead of being included in an auction like this.

I just don't get this. :sad2:

I'm waiting to see one of my green pens on ebay.
