I went out grocery shopping last night about 11 PM and couldn't believe how warm and muggy it was - oh if only this weather could continue through the next 5 months!!! It's suppose to be in the mid 80's until Thursday.

How lucky for you Cindy to have a trip to look forward to this weekend. We all know how much fun the planning and getting ready for the trip is! :goodvibes You and Amy are meeting up this weekend - that's pretty cool - it's nice to share WDW with a friend.

I'm going to try out Karen and Amy's 15 minute suggestion on my basement. If you guys don't hear from me by this evening send in someone to find me! I'm first going to tackle the bin of Barbie Dolls that my two oldest have stored down there. Time to box up what they want to keep and throw the rest out!

Amy--I know you'll have fun with all the party planning. It's a lot of work, but it really is a alot of fun, and so worth it in the end when you see how much the kids enjoy themselves.

Cindy--You guys are going to have such a great time. I wish I could say I was going to Disney this weekend! Instead, we are going to Jersery to visit my Dad. Somehow, I can't even find myself comparing the two!

My week is going to be more like Marys! Laundry, Laundry, Laundry....and some vacuuming and dusting in between. I lead a very glamourous life, ya know? :rotfl2:

I did 15 minutes yesterday and I can see where it made a dent. A small dent, but a dent. I was telling Mike about it this morning, and I told him "there is so much stuff down there I have NO idea what to do with---computer stuff, old laptop boxes, etc"

We want to get bug sprayed and the basement is a vital part of that (where the bugs hide) and there is no way they can spray with all the junk around.

So Mike said when he gets home from work today he'll do 15 minutes. !!! YIPPIE!!!!

Ideally, I'd love it to be a scrapbooking room so everything can stay out all the time (lots of counters and storage. And the treadmill. Oh, and the air hockey table the kids want. Oh, wait....might not have a big enough basement....

Maybe we should build a new house!! ;)

I've got two more full days off until the kids come home. This afternoon I have a couple of errands, and then we pick up Mike's truck.

While dropping off MIKE'S care yesterday we realized that when one of those little pieces of semi tire fly at the front of your car, they can totally knock out one of the fog lights! It's hanging there by a wire. So now MY car is going to have to be fixed....again! I'm not having a good time with road debris and my car!!

Can't do laundry anymore....weekend is over. :)
Guess that leaves more time to watch 24!

Much more like summer than fall here in Chicagoland. Going to get up to 87 today! Yikes!
Wow, that's almost as warm as central Florida!!!!

Too cute not to share.....

In light of the news of the so-called human cloning going on, we have to ask
ourselves the hypothetical question:

If you pushed your naked clone off the top of a tall building, would it be:

A ) murder
B ) suicide
C ) merely making an obscene clone fall? :-)

Cindy - Have a wonderful trip! I'm sure you will have a great time.

Amy - Good luck with your party and Happy Birthday to Emily! I'm in the party planning stages since both girls b-days hit me right after Christmas.

We had a fun but busy weekend. Spent yesterday in Chicago. First a trip to American Girl and then we went and saw Wicked. It was really good!

Hey Cindy - Just wanted to let you know that your CD arrived today. I'll give it to Chris when he gets home, since he's the one putting the CDs together!!

Hey there ladies!!! :teeth: Hope everyone is having a good evening!

Cindy - I got the pictures in the mail today...Thank you so much! I thought it was hysterical that Walker things Nick looks like he is trying to kiss someone. :rotfl2:
A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :bday: to Cameron, Nick will hit that magic number in January.

Amy - Birthday Hugs & Kisses for Emily :cake:

Nick journaled while on the cruise and he made (with Mom's help) a small scrapbook of the trip to bring in to his teacher. He did a pretty good job. He picked out the book and papers he wanted to use and a couple of embellishments by Jolee. I'll have to take a couple of pictures and post them when the teacher is done with the book.

DH and I started cleaning out the office this past weekend. We are going to turn it into our own Disney Retreat. Now if I can only figure out what to do with all of the paperwork! Annmarie

Oh cool a good reason to go and eat out! There are alot of restaurants in my area that are participating at 100% of profits. Hmmmm, now to decide which one to go to :smooth:

Gail, is the Croc hunter tag new? I don't remember seeing that. :)

Got it just before the cruise. I think at the same time Diana, Amy, Cindy & MaryJ got one too.

Yep, the Tag Fairy breezed thru while the Croc mania went on..

And I'm sure it doesn't mean this Croc Hunter either... ;)

When did a library become something other than a place to check out books. Times sure have changed.

Couldn't pass responding to this ... You're right Cindy - times have changed. As head of the Children's Dept. I encourage stuff like board game playing in the summer and movie nights in the winter. Unfortunately though, those extraa grew out of keeping latch-key kids busy well after their homework is done, etc. Some people are really opposed, others love it. Overall I think it makes the atmosphere of the dept. warm and inviting.

What's really funny is every Thursday the senior citizens use the library's conference room for their meeting location. One day when the room was being set up and they needed to wait outside for a few more moments than anticipated they got to see the early morning story time bustle. I overheard one of them say, "what is this a daycare? Libraries are for reading/checking out books!" So Cindy, you don't have you AARP card yet do you? Just Kidding :rotfl2:

Just an FYI...I've been keeping up with reading the posts, but haven't commented much. Here's a quick catch-up:

Cindy - Too bad you don't know my parents...they're headed down to our condo on Wed thru Monday and you could've met up. My dad turns 50 on Nov. 1 so it's his b-day present. Food and Wine Fest, No-So-Scary, dinner at Flying Fish oh yeah and a visit to the DMV to get the Fla. resident cards. So that leaves me home to take care of my dog : ( My sis lives at college so she gets off easy  Anyway, have a good time w/ your son!

Amy - Glad you got the CD

Julie - Sorry about your loss. How are you doing now?

My weekend flew. I went to a concert at Jone's Beach on Friday night. It was much cooler than I expected, but the temps went up quick Sat thru today. Gail, I too wish it could last 5 more months : (
Saturday I went to Woodbury Premium Outlets for VIP shopper day. It was fab and I came home with a ton of bargains. Sunday I went to Long Beach Island, NJ for Chowder Fest 2005. It rocked!

Well, this rapid change in temps has my throat aching and nose running so I'm off to relax a bit. nite.

Here's something I don't tell everyone...
We went to school with someone who, luckily, about 2 yrs after we graduated we lost contact with him. We got busy (with kids) he got busy with his job....just no time to get together. Well, seems that he was busier with his job than he should have been (elementary teacher) and he was finding time in his day to....well, do things with young boys that he should not have been doing. He did time. And while on parole he'd hang out in the stacks of the children's section at the main downtown library or surf their internet computers for kiddie pictures (if you know what I mean) anyway...it was against his parole to go ANYWHERE "where kids frequent." So he went back to jail and is now, so we hear, in some sort of rehab program.

So, needless to say, my kids do not peruse the stacks alone. I know when I was 11, I'd WALK to the library alone and spend hours there without my parents. Is it me or has A LOT changed in those years?? Of course, at age 11, I wasn't aware of those kinds of dangers, so maybe it was just as bad but I didn't know.

:rotfl: No, AARP card yet. :rotfl: The library is so different than it was when I was younger. I see it every time with my daycare kids though. Yesterday, when asked what they wanted to do before storytime, they said they wanted to play with the trainset. The other options are puppets, games, puzzles, doll houses. Occassionally do they mention anything about books, other than to ask if there are any to drop in the return slots.

I read to them every day so I know they receive their book time. It's just very different. And, a lot of times, I feel very sorry for the librarians. They do become a daycare center for a lot of children after school or on days off (I won't make that mistake again). I know one of the librarians tells me very often that they hope a child never disappears out the library as it will change what is now offered.
