I remember reading quite a while back that the Sci-Fi Restaurant at MGM will be closed for rehab. Does anyone have dates on this. We really wanted to squeeze this in.

Not sure of the exact dates, but I can tell you this....
We are going to WDW after the cruise. We leave WDW on September 16. We were unable to book Sci-Fi that whole time due to rehab.

And I can add to that by saying we have PS ADRs whatever they are calling them these days, for September 2nd, which is the Friday before we leave, so they are still open then.

Hmmm....I did a search for walt disney world rehab dates and an intercot site came up which says this:

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre will be closed 9/6/2005 - 9/12/2005.

Maybe *we* couldn't get in because we don't have an MGM day planned after 9/12. (shrug)

Amy and Kristi, Tha was me that posted on the 11 day reference DVC points and Amy did an excellent job of relating the info.
I knew that someone had mentioned the points, I just couldn't remember who.

Hi Mark,

It's pouring here. :umbrella: :umbrella: :umbrella: Let's hope all night. We'll all get rid of that hay growing in our yards.

We didn't get any rain! We really need it. When you walk on our lawn it sounds like your are walking over potato chips! I wish it would come our way.

Today's fluffy question of the day.......

Credit for this one goes to Nezy (I hope you don't mind but I think it's a good one :) ---

We always bring more clothes than we truly need. I'm hoping to bring much less this trip.

A stroller! We are trying this trip without it. I have been taking my 3yr old on walks to condition her. We have a lake in our neighborhood with a trail around it. It is just over 2 miles and she has walked it 3 times so far. I tell her that she is in Disney Boot Camp!

THANKS to all with your help with this one! Brandon first went when he was 2 1/2 and doesn't remember anything about it. Looks like we'll have to try for the 3rd!

Hmm... that's easy, my parents! The last time we took them along on a trip they plain drove us nuts.

Mark,
Funny! We travel with my parents A LOT! They will be with us this trip along with my in-laws being that we are all DVC members. Traveling with my parents works out good for us. I am an only child so I am really close to them. Since my parents are also members we usually split the points and get 2-bedrooms. It makes it easier to travel with the girls since we always have "back-up" to help out. Plus my parents like to go back to the room earlier than us and it gives my DH and I a little alone time in the parks without children.

Ok who turned off the smilies? LOL

We also had to alter our plans due to the closing of Sci Fi - we had hoped to have lunch there after leaving the ship as it was our goal to eat at all new locations this trip. LOL there goes that now!

Less t's is a great idea - with the awesome t's Kay made, the t's we ordered from DVC, the potential for t's from DVC for the photo I guess all I need is clothes for evening and some bottoms. :bounce:

We've decided to lay all the blame on Diana :rotfl:

Plus any t's that you purchase at WDW before/after the cruise and any you buy at KW or CC! We have the ability to not have to pack any t's for the trip!

I am going to quit bringing books to read. I haul them across the country and back and never even open them!

It's just all those activities we plan! Who has time to read?

Linda

Linda - I'm just the opposite. I read more on the cruises then I do on any other vacation. I love reading on my verandah early in the morning.

Good one Linda! I do the same thing! Back and forth the books go... and I never get around to reading them! Then they sit around waiting for the next trip and I do the same thing all over again... sometimes with the SAME BOOKS! Too Funny! :Pinkbounc

Jenny I love my in-laws and Mark loves his parents but we find we just can't travel with them. They don't like to think for themselves, but they like to tell you what you did wrong after planning something. It got to be a bit tedious. We had a trip in October 2002 where we booked a 2 bedroom. We took the master and they had the 2nd bedroom. My FIL snores really loud. Each morning my MIL would complain that she got no sleep. Each morning I would say - go into the living room and sleep on the sofa. She would never do it.

Since we already had our May '03 booked with them there wasn't much we could do. We did not book any of their excursions and told them what we had booked (knowing they wouldn't do them because they involved water and my MIL can't get water in her ears). They didn't like the ones they themselves picked. Finally on Formal Night after we got back to the room Mark and I changed into comfy clothes because we wanted to see the lunar eclipse that night and then head to the dessert buffet. Mark went to go on the internet and I started packing up as much as I could (since the next day was CC and our last day). My FIL walked past the door (we had connecting rooms) and asked what I was doing and I said packing. He immediately turned to my MIL and said "Sue - Mary's packing - you need to start packing". She packed everything including the hat my FIL wanted to wear on CC.

Now we just give them a week down at Vero every couple of years instead of asking them to travel with us. Works best for them and us.

It's me--I stole all the smilies!!

Now I can safety say the one and ONLY time EVER I will travel with my in-laws was for my wedding. There isn't a cruise ship, island, resort, city, even country big enough for us to vacation together!! Thankfully we only see them once or twice a year--those people are just plain "different".

You guys are scaring me. My MIL will BE on this cruise! YIKES!

No, really, I've really come to love her in the past couple of years. Heck, I even like her most of the time! :) Mike and I just celebrated 14 years, so you can see it took me quite awhile to get to this point! But it's all good now....

But we don't have connecting rooms! ;)

Mary,
I totally understand! It is hard to find people that you can travel with. Lucky for us we get along with my parents and we tend to go our separate ways a lot. Unfortunately it is not that way with all of our family. I'm slightly concerned about this cruise since we will as be with the in-laws. We have traveled with them in the past and it has been difficult. We've said never again but what do you do when they book trips that they know you will be on. So if you see me in the dinning room with an annoyed look on my face you will know why.
Jen

With a cup of coffee from room service? I like that idea. :cool1:

You are so lucky! Mine live in the same city and are DVC members. (They bought after us!) I can handle them in small dosses but they are also "different"! This will be the 4th trip that we have been together on. I hope it goes well. I may need an extra Konk Cooler or two to get through the day. :flower:
