With a cup of coffee from room service? I like that idea. :cool1:

Well I prefer tea but yes any beverage of choice will do. I'm more of a morning person than Mark. I like being out there while he's still sleeping and just watch the water go by. Very very peaceful.

Hey everyone - You've been a little busy this morning. I went shopping at Publix this afternoon, and picked up all the makings for Konk Koolers here at home. I'm thinking that I'll be having a cocktail later tonight. Anyone coming over?

As for vacationing with family, we rarely do it anymore. We made the mistake of planning a holiday trip to WDW, staying at VWL for 11 of us. Turned out that we really started to get on everyone's nerves. Even though I told everyone that this was their vacation, I still felt like I was playing tour guide (not a job that I wanted).

For the fluffy question of the day - what DIDN'T I bring! Our first solo trip down to Orlando (first time in 1988 was a driving trip with my sister and her dh) was in 1993 and we ended up having bruises on our shoulders trying to carry everything to the airplane (remember those days when you didn't have to pack a lunch and plan on being at the airport for days before traveling?) to catch our flight back home! We had shoes and clothes we didn't need, big hats (what were we thinking?), books we never read, umbrellas that were worthless and all our souvenirs. Now, if we have a lot of souvenirs, we ship them back home nestled safely in dirty clothes (poor bomb sniffing dogs!) - although that almost backfired on us once. We bought me some pajamas from Downtown Disney and were packing everything up at the post office and found they'd left the dye tag still on - I could just imagine that puppy in an airplane exploding and ruining everything around it! I don't know why it didn't set off the sensors at DD, but we thankfully had enough time to go back and have them take it off.

Thanks, Scott, for the DVC point info. Had DH look at the 11 day last night. So tempting!

My horror stories of travel with in-laws and out-laws would take several pages, so I'll spare all of you! Kristi

Love the kitty smilie!

I can handle them in small dosses but they are also "different"! This

My MIL also bought DVC after us. She bought during a Sept '01 trip (just before 9/11) that we treated her and her dh to.

For many years I had to keep telling myself "she must be *somewhat* normal, after all, she raised my wonderful dh." ;)

And now we're so close that it just kills me that I can't be there more to help out. We've been down twice since her cancer diagnosis, and I've stocked her freezer each time with home cooked meals, but I wish I was close enough to do more.

I had to laugh at this! I ask my DH regularly if he was adopted!

Thought I'd show ya'll what I ran over on the way to the Ohio State Fair. The nice Toyota people got it out for me, plugged the tire, and suggested I keep the full size spare on the car and use the damaged tire for a spare only.

Keep in mind, that screw is about 2 1/2 inches long!

That's a big one. Good thing you didn't have a blow out.

I once saw a car on the highway suffer one. How the driver managed to keep control of the vehicle, I still don't know. It was very scary to see, I can't imagine how the driver felt. I think about that everytime I drive on that section of road.

Good afternoon everyone!

I can't imagine not travelling with a good book! But then again, I love to read, and usually read every night before bed. DS would look at me like I grew horns if I said no books on the cruise!

We've just about figured out the family travelling thing. We do some trips because of familial obligation, but try to keep those as short and infrequent as possible. And then we do others because we truly love to spend time with certain family members, so we vacation together as often as possible. It's great when you have some family members that your whole family really just "clicks" with!

That really was a healthy size nail you ran over. I know I have issues now though... I looked at your picture of the nail, and started thinking of all of the ways you could scrapbook it... have you seen the paper that has a tire track running over it??? If you used some of that, and then cut the nail out of the picture, and put it in the middle of the tire tracks... and then you could put another copy of the picture of the nail in a frame shaped like a tire... and you could do your journalling in a paper piecing shaped like a tire gauge or an air pump...

SEE... it's an illness!!!

That's the one I was ready to send you. They aren't reporting much on their website tho.

The city where Mary and Sanddune live is just north of the explosion site. It all depends on how far south they live in their city as to how close they are to the site. I'm not sure if they live in the north or south end of their city.

We are not close at all - about 50 miles NE of the explosion.

I sure hope they are all OK! We are about 35-40 MI S of the airport so no problem for us!!

Mike :earsboy:

It's really been quiet here today. Amy & Diana must be out with the kids. They usually have some afternoon postings to keep us going. ;)

How about a little GTKYFC -- you know, that's kind of like CPR except for it stands for Get To Know Your Fellow Cruiser. With Disney, they have so many different abbreviations, what's one more. :goodvibes

Anyway, feel free to add to the list ----

1. I am the # child out of # in my family.

Anyone else????

We have traveled with family a few times. For my parents 50th Anniversary we all went to Myrtle Beach - each family rented their own condo and everyone had a great time! Our latest pasttime is taking a cruise for each of my siblings 50th Birthday. Sept 03 for my sister, Feb 05 for my brother. That trip we ended up with 25 people. As long as everyone knows ahead of time that this is their vacation, they are not obligated to do anything they don't want. It usually works out - some get it, sometimes some don't. This cruise will be the first vacation that John and I have had alone in quite some time - oh I forgot we're traveling with our 150 closest DVC friends :rotfl2:

Yikes!!! I'm glad that it all worked out, and at least you had a full-sized spare.

I was out most of the morning picking up the rest of the birthday supplies. I have 2 more weeks, but I'm a compulsive planner  and need to get everything just perfect. Once my inlaws get in town, my mind is jello!

1. I am the # child out of # in my family. I am the oldest child out of 2, but I have a half sister who is 12, so I guess oldest out of 3?

Glad to see the smilies have returned!! It wasn't the same without them! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I'm here. Actually, can you believe it, I took a little nap?!?!?! It doesn't happen often, but I didn't go to bed until after midnight and I didn't sleep well, so I was exhausted. So, I laid down for about an hour. Ahhh, it felt great!!

For me, I'm the first of 3 children. And, I'm 6 years older than my brother, and 9 years older than my sister, so I really was a 2nd mother to them, especially since my mom was divorced. But, now that we're all older we get along great. But, I miss them.

At some point, they all moved down to FL after me. But sadly, my brother moved back to IL to get married 2 years ago. Him and his new wife are expecting their first baby this Christmas. And, my sister's DH joined the Navy, and they are stationed in Norfolk, VA. They have 3 girls, and I miss my neices. But, mom still lives here, about 5 minutes from me.

I went to Party City last night, when we were out stopping at Target, which is next door. I wanted to check to see if they had the supplies for Emily's birthday party. She wants Ariel and she had seen it in the Birthday Express catalog. Luckily, our Party City had all of it, including the pinata. I'm going to start picking some of that stuff up soon to get ready for early October. I think that it's never too early to start planning.

Watch out for those naps, Amy (and someone else too ;) ), they can make you a bit :crazy2: .

Some place in there I must not be clear. Sometimes I write something and it's conveyed totally different from what I'm trying to say. Sorry about that. :guilty:

Anyway, let's try this again.

Does anyone have any other questions to spark a bit of conversation here? :sunny:

After all, we're not that far from #7000. Maybe we can make it to 10,000 before we cruise. :cool1:

Mark,
Funny! We travel with my parents A LOT! They will be with us this trip along with my in-laws being that we are all DVC members. Traveling with my parents works out good for us. I am an only child so I am really close to them. Since my parents are also members we usually split the points and get 2-bedrooms. It makes it easier to travel with the girls since we always have "back-up" to help out. Plus my parents like to go back to the room earlier than us and it gives my DH and I a little alone time in the parks without children.
We will be traveling with Stitch#1 who are my daughter, son in law and grandson. We will sharing a 2 bedroom at BWVwith them . We travel with them quite often. We will also be meeting my sister and her boy friend and son at the Pleasure Island meet. All of uis will be on the cruise.
