Sept 4-8 2005 Wonder S.S. Member Cruise! Part 2

This has nothing to do with the cruise or anything else on this board, but I just had to tell someone. ....I just looked out in my back yard and there were 30 wild turkeys walking around out there. It looked like 3 or 4 hens with their chicks. We have a cat who is a true hunter. (she has caught at least 3 birds and dozens of frogs) She was stalking the turkeys until she got close enough to see how really BIG they are. then she decided to just watch, like the rest of us.

Ok, questions for you.

#2 - Do you collect anything or have an obsession over something or someone?

#3 - What's your favorite food?

#4 - If someone came to your home town, what would you show them around town?

I'll answer my own questions:

#2 - I collect scrapbook supplies & Precious Moments figurines. I have to say that lately, I haven't gotten many new PM figurines, because I've been adding to my SB supplies.

#3 - That's a tough one, but I would probably say seafood, mainly shrimp & crab legs.

#4 - St. Petersburg has some beautiful beaches with incredible sunsets, so I would probably take someone from out of town to the beach at dusk to see the sunset.

Wow, that's cool. Wild turkeys are definitely not what you would see in central FL, but we do have lots of wild birds like egrets walking through our yard sometimes.

That's cool. DH would love that.

We have a bunch of quail that live outside our house. Just love seeing the whole family with the babies trailing behind. It's alot of fun to watch them!

Nap?? What's a nap??? :confused3

Our Party City actually had a bunch of Wiggles stuff so I lucked out. I did get most of it on ebay though, found it alot cheaper there, so you might want to look there. They had $1 Wiggles coloring books for the goodie bags, so I got those and then went to Target for their 25 cent crayons. I couldn't skimp and get the 10 cent Rose Art ones, because I'm a consulant for Big Yellow Box by Crayola, and that would be giving business to the competition! :rotfl:

OK--questions
2. I'm an obsessive scrapbooker. I have a curio cabinet full of Precious Moments. And of course, my Disney collection. My entire living room is all Disney, snowglobes, figurines, art, etc. It's gated, so that's were all the fragile stuff goes.
3.Favorite Food--Steak
4. My home town or where I live now, because I really don't consider this my hometown. When I go to NYC I always say I'm going home, even though I haven't lived there in 10 years. So, if they came here and it was summer, I'd take them to Lake George or Saratoga and definintely the track. If it was NYC, I'd take them shopping on 5th Avenue  and to Central Park.

Here's a few more questions

#5 What do you consider the one turning point in your life?

#6 What is your favorite childhood memory?

#7 If you could spend one day with Walt Disney what would you do?

There are always Wild Turkeys around here! It really is amazing how big they are. This spring we actually started finding deer on our street and in our yard--they hop right over our fence. We don't live in the country at all either. They are building a lot of new developments around us and the deer are becoming homeless. My biggest fear is one of them falling in our pool!

I know, a nap is a precious commodity around here. It doesn't happen often, and I feel guilty when I do it. But, today was an exception, it felt great!!!

I'll have to check ebay. Thanks for the tip. Also, I have to say that I like the Crayola crayons better anyway!!!

Ok, I'm game for some more questions.

#5 - I would say that my turning point was going to college. I was the very first in my family to go to college. I grew up VERY poor, in really bad neighborhoods. My mom did her best to raise us on her own, and she insisted that I go to college to better myself and get out of the poor life. I'm SO glad that she did.

#6 - I think that my favorite childhood memories are all about Christmas. Because we were poor, my mom ALWAYS made sure that Christmas was special. She would save all year long, so that there would be tons of presents under the tree. They may not have been the latest & greatest toys, but there were always things under the tree.

#7 - I would stroll down Main Street USA with Walt and talk to him about his vision for WDW.

Here they are in a group if it's easier for anyone (like myself :confused3 )

What do you consider the one turning point in your life?

What is your favorite childhood memory?

If you could spend one day with Walt Disney what would you do?

Do you collect anything or have an obsession over something or someone?

What's your favorite food?

If someone came to your home town, what would you show them around town?

What is your birth order?

Gosh, you all are fast. :moped:

What do you consider the one turning point in your life? Gosh, with a headache that just started, I'm not sure I can give this enough thought. :headache: The first thought I have is the death of my dad. Even though it's been 25 years, it altered the dynamics of my family tramendously. :(

What is your favorite childhood memory? Easy. Weekends were family time. My dad was off of work, my older married siblings spent a lot of time at my house. My neices and nephews were around and I loved taking care of them.

If you could spend one day with Walt Disney what would you do?We'd spend the day in the MK and I'd have the best tour of all! :goodvibes

Do you collect anything or have an obsession over something or someone?Snow Babies. I have so many of them, I'm not sure where I would add another in my curio cabinet.

What's your favorite food?PASTA! Without a doubt. :teeth:

If someone came to your home town, what would you show them around town?It would depend on whether they were a shopper or not. If so, I'd take them to Woodfield Mall -- even though it would be a dreaded trip for me. If they were a baseball fan, we'd go to a Schaumburg Flyer's game.

What is your birth order?
Okay, my boring question. I am the 5th out of 6. My oldest brother is 16 years my senior and adopted. My parents were told they couldn't have kids. So, they adopted him and went onto have 5 of their own. :rotfl2:

Diana, thanks for giving us all back our smilies.

That is so awesome. The city girl in me would be screaming my head off if this happened to me.

Can I borrow your cat? We still have Mickey's running around our yard. :earseek:

What do you consider the one turning point in your life? Dealing with the death of my mom

What is your favorite childhood memory? Summers in Cape Cod

If you could spend one day with Walt Disney what would you do? Talk about his views on what has happened to his parks (then try to talk him out of one of those lifetime passes :rotfl2: )

Do you collect anything or have an obsession over something or someone? Love to scrapbook; Collect David Winter Cottages and glass artwork

What's your favorite food? pasta

If someone came to your home town, what would you show them around town? The US Space and Rocket Center; the Botanical Gardens; Tennessee River

What is your birth order? I'm the oldest of three children

I'll finish up the questions I missed.

Turning point: I'm taking Cindy's route and say My mother's death. It's been 20 years, and I can't even begin to think how much my life changed.

Childhood memory: Get out the tissues! I'd say my trips to Disney with my mom. I don't have many memories of her, but it seems to me those are the most vivid. Thus, my Disney obsession!

Walt: First, we'd ride the Carousel of Progress.....then we'd sit in the Castle and we'd chat about what he really wanted WDW to be compared to how it is today and how he feels about Michael Eisner!

What do you consider the one turning point in your life? Definitely having children! They change your entire life (for the good - mostly).

What is your favorite childhood memory? Spending Christmas in Wisconsin with my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. My mom came from a large family and most of them were in Wisconsin.

If you could spend one day with Walt Disney what would you do? Probably take his picture. (See obsession with photo taking below.)

Do you collect anything or have an obsession over something or someone? If you ask my DH he would say that I collect flip flops and Coach purses. :) I'm obsessed with taking pictures. I take tons of them. I also like to scrapbook when I find the time.

What's your favorite food? Tacos! I'm hungry and would like one now!

If someone came to your home town, what would you show them around town? Emerson Creek Pottery! It is a really cute farm house that has been converted into a pottery shop and tea room.

What is your birth order? I'm the one and only. That is all my mom wanted. (At least that is what she tells me!) She was the oldest of 6 and felt like she raised some of her siblings.

Well I prefer tea but yes any beverage of choice will do. I'm more of a morning person than Mark. I like being out there while he's still sleeping and just watch the water go by. Very very peaceful.

More a morning person than I used to be, so, a Ships' Kettle(tomato soup) goes along nicely with that tea order :)
