Today's fluffy question of the day.......

Credit for this one goes to Nezy (I hope you don't mind but I think it's a good one :) ---
What items did you once pack/take with you, but no longer do?

.

On our first couple of cruises we brought our own beach towels with us. You don't need them. Disney has plenty of towels available. They may not be as big and soft as your beach towels but we find two cover the chaise quite nicely. Plus we don't lay out by the pool very often.

 Yeah a TOP with Cindy and Noreen.

We don't pack rolls of film since we've gone DIGITAL!

The explosion last night was a few towns over from us - my dd could see the first explosion when she was driving home last night - she thought she was seeing things when she saw a flash from the first fireball go up into the sky and called me to bring it to my attention when she got home.

Should we wear "I  Henry" buttons :rotfl2:

And so much for that magnet we were going to put on our door. :rotfl2:

Hey Diana I'm missing some of smilies again - Give 'em back :teeth:

Mine too. Now, Diana, let's share nicely. ;)

Hey Mary how's things in your part of town. We were wondering how close you were to the explosion. I wasn't sure if you lived more in the north end of town or the south end.

Big space saver. And, cost saver. When I think about what we used to spend on film and developing....

24 days until:
the first DIS meet ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::
bon boyage party :thewave:
and pirate scavenger hunt pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:
I just can't believe that it's coming so quick. After Emily starts preschool Monday, I have a scrapbooking circle journal that I need to work on and mail out. Then, my next focus is starting to pack. :cheer2:

Gail - we're all on the north side of town (my dd lives only 2 miles west of us and my ds lives 2 miles east) so we're lucky not to be so close to that area - we used to live over that way 27 yrs ago.
I haven't gone out yet this morning but do need to get out and get errands done - hopefully the air is not too bad.

Mary - I'm glad to hear that you and your family are ok.

Alot less T-Shirts and shoes.

I just want to know why, when all the smilies are missing everyone blames me!!! :rotfl: I can't see anyone's pictures either. I think we broke the DIS again!!

I really want a picture with "captain" henry the vacuum! And yes, Cindy, when they come over the PA system and say, this is captain henry, I'm going to be giggling!

As for what I don't bring anymore, definitely film as we've gone digital since our last cruise. Also, clothes. We never wear everything we bring, so I'm hoping to scale down. Worst case scenario, we do laundry for a couple of things or "recycle"!

Mary - glad to hear you and your family are ok - we were worried about you.

I agree on the digital. Actually, on our last cruise, we were digital also, but we had a bunch of different sized memory sticks. Now, we have a 1Gig stick, so it should have plenty of room. And, that's only one camera. We have another camera that has just 2-512K memory cards.

And, as for clothes, I'm not packing a lot extra, except for the girls, because you know how that can go. Plus, we ordered the DVC shirts that will be in our stateroom, and I'm sure that we'll buy some t-shirts onboard. So, I'm not bringing a lot of t-shirts with us.

A good point Gail. Remember that if you ordered t-shirts or Polo shirts from DVC they'll be waiting for you. That is one less days worth you have to pack! Plus we usually always pick a t-shirt or polo shirt up in port. Especially if it is a new port for us (which Key West isn't).

I remember reading quite a while back that the Sci-Fi Restaurant at MGM will be closed for rehab. Does anyone have dates on this. We really wanted to squeeze this in.

Also, just noticed some info about the Swashbuckling Pirates over near POC ride in the MK:

Through Saturday, September 27, a comedic-musical trio of Swashbuckling Pirates is performing in the Magic Kingdom's Caribbean Plaza (near the Pirates of the Caribbean ride).
The swashbucklers sing sea shanties and tell tales six times daily, Fridays through Tuesdays, at the following (tentative) times:
11:30-11:50 a.m.
12:30-12:50 p.m.
1:30-1:50 p.m.
2:30-2:50 p.m.
3:30-3:50 p.m.
4:20-4:40 p.m.

Hmm... lots of red x's this am, kitty been busy.

Hmm... that's easy, my parents! The last time we took them along on a trip they plain drove us nuts.

:rotfl: that's exactly why I will never plan a vacation with extended family

Okay, no fair!!! As I was packing my child off to school this morning, all of you filled 3 pages. Don't you know that you're supposed to wait for me to start chatting????

Today is a full day of school, so I might actually get some things done around the house. I can't believe how close the cruise is getting. I'm really starting to move on getting things ready.

I believe that the final tally of DISkids on our cruise is 53... should be fun!!!

Speaking of chatting, I'm off to dial!! :cool1:

Amy and Kristi, Tha was me that posted on the 11 day reference DVC points and Amy did an excellent job of relating the info.

Mark good looking patio. Here in Wyoming we are only guaranteed about 30 strait days frost free. Makes it tough for a garden.

Time is getting close , Thanks Mary for the countdowns
