Good morning Everyone!

Finally made it by WalMart last night. Ended up that procrastination was a good thing! I got my blinky-blinks (blue and black), and all clearance clothing was half off, so they only cost me $2.50!!! :)

Lisa - sounds like you got a great deal! Congrats on joining the blinkie patrol!

MyDW has a machine that does embroidery. We are working on a logo for the cruise for us and Stitch#1. Would you like me to send it to you?

I'd love the logo also. I have a Janome 300E that I just love. I have the software to convert from one format to another so I can convert if anyone needs that done.

On the bad news side I am not sure if I am going to be able to make this trip. My dad (who was going with me) has been diagnosed with an abdominal aneurism (very serious stuff) and will have surgery on August 30.

We do not want to postpone the surgery because if the aneurism should burst it is fatal. I know that he will not be able to go, but am still undecided if I will leave him 5 days after the surgery and just go on the cruise part. My sister lives here so I would not be leaving him alone.

Still he is 84, and he comes first. The good news is that he is very interested in rescheduling - but it won't be as special as the member cruise.

The other ship in port is RCCL's Mariner of the Seas. She is rather new - first sailing was Nov 2003. She is a real beauty on the inside too! Lots of cool artwork around the ship.

Tricia - so sorry to hear about your Dad. We will keep you and him in our thoughts and prayers. I know it is a very difficult decision and know you will do what is best for you and your family.

Thanks Gail - sounds nice. One of these days we may try something other than DCL and it is nice to hear other reviews.

Tricia, I'm sorry to hear about your father. Wishing him the best through surgery. I'm sorry you have to be faced with this tough decision. It's never easy!

Absolutely ditto. Do what is best for you and dad Tricia, we'll have future opportunities for dvc/dis events I'm sure.

The Mariner and Wonder are completely different types of cruises. The main dining room on MOS is beautiful, but I did miss the rotationional dining on DCL. The MOS does have the Promanade which was very cool! My friend just got back from a cruise on Caribbean Princess and from her pictures that looks like a beautiful ship too. She had a picture of the Caribbean Princess and the Wonder in port together which was pretty neat to see.

Gail - do you have a copy of that picture with the Caribbean Princess? I have a friend who is going on that ship later in the year and I know she would love to see it. If you can it can you e-mail it to me? Thanks!

I will get the picture from her and e-mail it to you. That Caribbean Princess is one huge ship!

Excellent - by the way I just realized that you know the friend I'm talking about. It was the Mother of the Bride on your cruise! :)

Tricia,

I'm so very sorry to hear about your father. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. Sorry to hear that one hard-to-deal-with situation has created other dilemmas. Best of luck figuring out what will work best for your family. I just wanted you to know that you'll be with us in spirit, even if you can't make the Member Cruise.

Lisa

Gail - I'm driving down again - need a ride? :moped:

Tricia - I hope all goes well for your dad - you have to do what is best for you and your family.

Will be nice to get back into chat mode - I've actually missed it altho I was having fun when I was away. :chat:

Hi guys
Im jumping in here a little late.
We were on the last member cruise (DH and I) and we loved it.
This time we are taking our 2 adult children.
I cant believe how fast the time has flown since we booked it.
Im usually just a lurker here, but I would love to get more involved and make new friends.

Hi Debbie, the first thing I'd do is point you here:

Please visit the website for detailed info of where/when the dis meets will be. S.S. Member Cruise Dis Meet website(click)

If you want to add the logo to your signature, look at the first post in this thread for instructions.

I am making buttons again!

Updated: Button List (click here to check it).

Included on this list is intent to attend the Pleasure Island precruise meet. If I don't have the info or it's wrong, you can either email me at the button email or pm me here.

And a reminder I have a firm cutoff on August 12th!
Nothing sent to me after that is going to be addressed.

The button sample(this is a real button folks!):
scannedbutton.jpg

Important instructions!! Please read thru carefully!

I have compiled a name list of the buttons I have information for.

I need everyone to proofread theirs and make sure I have it right.
For the above example, that's MarkRG/Mark.

If you have a 'Don't have' in the Member column that's because I don't have that information from you. It is optional, I will simply not add it to buttons that I don't have it.

If you want to add it or see anything that needs correcting, email me at member2005@monorailgreen.info.

If you don't see your name on this list at all , you need to send the following info to the above email address:
  • Your Dis Name and real name (only 1st name goes on button)
  • Names of anyone else going you want buttons for
  • Your cabin # (required, will be kept private)
  • When you joined DVC and where you own (optional)
  • Will you be attending the night before the cruise DVC event at Pleasure Island(click for info)?
Thanks for looking, as you are the final check on what I make for you.
