Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

Mamaraven - no flames here either! We all need a break occasionally. If I went on a cruise without my family (which I'm totally willing to do) I think my DH would have more separation anxiety than my DS! :rotfl2:

Also, I thought DH and DS meant Disney Husband and Disney Son -- well, at least in my mind they do, and that's a pretty scary place to be! :lmao:

Only 74 days to go!!!!! party: party:

Angela

A couple years back, DH and I attended Disneyana and then went on a 4-day by ourselves, leaving the 3 anklebiters home with the grandmothers. Of course, DGMs now will NEVER do that for us again, but it was worth it the one time!! :dance3:

Thanks for understanding! I've told a few people about the cruise and they've all had reactions like "how can you go on a DISNEY cruise and not take your son!" I took him to Disneyworld last fall (he did fantastically well!) but now it's Mom's turn. :woohoo:

NEVER feel guilty about taking time for yourself. Taking time to refresh, relax, and regroup just makes you a better mom!

I think eeryone has been sleeping!!!! t  time to wake up

Hope eveyone has a great day, off to work

bumping us up since it is getting so much closer to sail away time.

And lets not forget we are still doing our double digit dance.

 :cool1: :dance3: :dancer: party:

2 months and 10 days!!!!

I am doing the single digit dance for my Disney trip!! This time next week will be my last day of work before I leave!!!

Will I be okay with just my birth certificate (original with seal and all)? I recently got a name change, but the paperwork hasn't come back from court yet and it will be cutting it close to get a passport in time...might not happen. Everything I've read seems to suggest it will be fine but I figured some previous cruisers might have a better insight on how the whole process works.

I think I'm going to go pick up a Passporter at Border's today. Wahoo! More cruise reading material. I think Patrick - aka DBF (I'm creating Dearest Boyfriend if it hasn't been done already) thinks I'm nuts. I just like to know as much as possible so I don't miss out on the good stuff!

 :cheer2: :dance3:

We are first time cruisers and only going with birth certificates too. We were going to get them, but after reading these boards for over a year I'm pretty confident that the birth certificates are fine (and less expensive ;) ). Which means more $$ for the cruise. :thumbsup2

Don't worry about DBF -- most of our significant others think we're crazy. That's why we're on the boards so much!! :disrocks:

I made my tie-dyed t-shirts and they didn't come out very good. There was supposed to be a Mickey Head in the middle, but they look more like bunny ears!! :rotfl2: And, I have too much of the white t-shirt showing. Oh well, I still have time if I want to try again...

Have a great day everyone!

Angela

I don't think the new passport rules come fully into effect until the end of the year, but I am by no means an expert. DH and I have had passports now for ten years....and just realized that they will be expired by the time of the cruise. So we just sent in our renewals and are hoping they'll be back in time.

Go to the State Department website for more info.

Boy, am I jealous!! :o I would love to get a Disney fix this late in the game! Aren't you meeting with dis people you cruised with last time?

Betsy, you lucky dog!

Question: What is up with the "little red boat" everyone refers to when I tell them I am going on a Disney cruise? I have heard it 3 or 4 times now! :confused3

Also, funny story. My aunt was asking me about the cruise and how long it should take us to "go a ways off shore and come back in". She assumed because it was Disney, that it really wasn't a LEGIT cruise. :lmao: I informed her otherwise, of course. AND, a guy at work thought the same thing. :rotfl: I mean, do people think that it is a Disney cruise that they can't do things up right? I would think the opposite! I had to show my itinerary to both of them for them to get the idea! DUH! :rotfl: My aunt surprised me because she is such a world traveler! Now she wants to go with us, LOL! Her BD is the same day as DD7 and its during the cruise.

Honestly, I was worried about taking DD by myself, just her and I. But now, I am so glad it will just be the two of us and really don't want anyone coming with! We have gone through a lot these past few months with the divorce and we are in need of some "alone" time.

Gotta get back to work - will chat later!

I am looking for a way to make a "coundown to the cruise" calendar for DD so that she can cross days off or "peel" off days leading up to the cruise. I'd like to include periodic pics downloaded from the DIS website into the calendar. Any suggestions as to what program I could use that would be easy? Anyone done this before?

Thanks!

Hi Sheila,

The countdown item I hear the most about is a paper chain. Where you take a link off every day.

I suppose if you were REALLY creative you could fold up little pictures & Disney stuff to make the chain. Then when you take each link off you also get a little pixie dust!

Back to work...

Ohhhhh!! You're making me want to order it again... deluxe... pockets.... :scratchin

I think I'll order it and have it delivered to work. That way I can miss the "rolling of the eyes" :sad2: from DH. :rotfl2: He already thinks I'm crazy enough. :p

Angela

Well, I just did it! I ordered the Deluxe Passporter from Amazon (expedited delivery, of course!). :thumbsup2 Now, to smuggle it into the house so DH doesn't see it. Well, on second thought, I think I'll place it on our coffee table as the new "conversation piece." That way maybe DH will pick it up and thumb through it too. :woohoo:

I just got my copy of the Passporter. :woohoo: I can't wait to see what great tidbits they have in store. :goodvibes

Bumping back up to page 1. How is everyone this evening???
