Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

Good morning all!! Hope everyone had a great weekend :) We are one more weekend closer to leaving
Have a great week, and we all need to start chatting more. Ordered our shirts from disney this weekend. Of course got Lime green. Now with the boys not knowing what we are doing, have to find a way to have them wear them at the same time. That will be fun :rotfl:
Off to work
Kim

Good morning everyone!! What a scorcher of a weekend!! :scared: It's been 95-97 for the last 3 days and will be again today. Thankfully work has airconditioning! And, DH will be waiting on our boat after work to head out and cool down a bit. :boat: Ahhhhh....

Friends keep asking, "now when is your cruise again?" And, I used to say "not until September 30th" - now I can take the "not until" out and just say September because it is getting so close!! Yippeeeee!! :woohoo:

Now I just need to go shopping for more clothes and I better do it soon. I'm sure all the sales are going on now before Back to School sales begin. argh! :scared:

So, does anyone play bingo onboard?

Angela

Hi All & Welcome to the newcomers!!

I've got some more details on BOB:

artd[1].jpg

The cost is $99/per person (cash or travlers check) for the 3 hour tour. The age limit is 10 and they must be 48" tall.

If we get a group of 15 to 20 people we may be able to get our own boat. The McEntee's & the Walsh's want to go so that's seven. I'm looking for about 10 more.

If anybody is interested please post & let me know.

I'm behind on updating the roll call for the 2 newest members. I should have this done tonight. Sorry for the delay.

Angela: We've done the bingo a few times and thought it was fun & silly. We'll pobably try one more and the big one of course!

David...is the age limit the tour company's or Disney's? Our youngest DH is 48" but will be just shy of 8 on the cruise. Also, on which island is this?

... a 3 hour tour, a 3 hour tour :rolleyes1 :rotfl: How many of you watched Gilligan's Island over and over and over!

BOB looks like a blast! But alas, DS is too young and is not cool with going underwater. :guilty: OK, I'm using him as a scapegoat -- I'm not cool with going under water either - yikes!! :rotfl2: You guys are way to adventureous for me -- Didi boogy boarding, you guys doing the BOB thingy... Makes my tubing on our boat look like child's play! :yay:

I'll just see ya at bingo.... :rolleyes1

By the way, hi Beachball! I read on the boards that the Flying Dutchman will definitely be there during our cruise. Besides you, who else is going on the cruise with you? :listen:

Angela

Hi Beth,

This isn't through Disney. The age limit is the companies. I don't know how flexible they are. Also, Your seven year old is over 48"? Wow. I'll have to look at the kids records to see how tall my 1st was at that age.

Gotta go, the grass is calling to be cut.....

Surprisingly, but yes, he is. And, he's on the smaller side for his age (three months shy of 8), but he's now tall enough to do most rides at WDW. I can't tell you how much of a difference that made when it was just him in June with DH and me at Disney!

Hello everyone! Angela - you are funny! I would love to try Bingo. I LOVE BINGO! Can kids play? My friends keep asking me too, "so when is your cruise again". 7 more days and we can FINALLY say NEXT MONTH. :lmao: IT is all DD talks about. She is definitely chatty cathy about "going on a Disney cruise for my birthday". In the next breath, I'm "the meanest mom in the world". Oh well, whatt'da do?

David: FYI If I'm not mistaken, my 7 yo DD (soon to be 8) is 52" tall. Trying to talk her into playing basketball, but just wants to dance. Maybe next year :cheer2:

Does anyone know how long the Flying Dutchman will be at CC? Would LOOVE to see it! pirate:

Question regarding formal night. For DD, how formal do we have to be? She picked out a couple really cute dresses; however, they are "flowery" and don't know how "formal" they are. I am trying to talk her into wearing her red velvet Christmas dress but she is telling me its too "Christmasy". Opinions? Also, what exactly is "semi" formal?

Thanks guys (and gals)!

Oh to be in the 90's again - we have been 115 - 118 for over a week. Well, at least we are equipped for it - I have AC running!!!

Our family is me, DW, DD13, and DS11. DD is here with me looking at that BOB picture. Looks cool!

Hi All,

Welcome Kevin & family!!

Beth: The BOB 'thing' is on St. Thomas. Still not sure when it starts.

I updated the roll call as well.

Is it time to go yet? Is it?

Night all!

David

I feel everyone's pain regarding the heat! We just had a few days reprieve from three weeks of HOT, HOT, HOT, which was 100+ here in MN. Now back in the 90's and my car's A/C is not working! Needs freon and I refuse to pay the $$ when summer is only 3 months long up here. I'd rather spend it on my cruise. Went to the :beach: yesterday and cooled off!

Morning!!
3 more work days till I am in Disney!! Can't wait...my cruise friends are already there...AGH!! I am ready to go!

Betsy, I am so jealous. I actually had this really bizarre dream last night about trying to sneak into Disney World but I kept getting caught by the seven dwarves. I think I've been reading my passporter too much. :rotfl2:

Has anyone done the surial/rasul treatment? I'm interested to know what people think of it. I'm seriously tempted to try it. Having an excuse to throw mud at DBF is wicked cool. :teeth:

There was a thread on it just in the last week or so. You could do a search for it.

DH and I have done it twice, I think. You are escorted into an outer room with a bench across the back, a shower to the side and a table with the muds. The attendant explains each of the muds and their benefits, as well as other products which are on the table (and which they sell). Just tell them if you don't want the sales pitch. On the opposite side of the outer room from the shower is the steam room. The idea is smear the mud and sit (or whatever) in the steam room and let the mud soak in. Of course, that's when the fun begins. It's kinda like the Las Vegas ads....what happens in the rasul room stays in the rasul room! You're in there for an hour (thereabouts...can't really remember); when you've got about 10 minutes left, the attendant will knock on the door to give you a heads-up.

DH and I thoroughly enjoyed this time to ourselves. We did, however, find the steam room a little too warm and with very low water pressure in the sink. That was our only disappointment.

Beth

Thanks Beth! Good to know about the warmth issue. For me, the hotter the better but the DBF is a bit of a wuss. He can't figure out how I can tolerate such hot showers. *sigh* :hourglass

What on earth is a tag fairy? I keep seeing references to one but have no clue what it is...of course, I could just be dense since it took me forever to figure out what a fish extender was too.

Mommaraven
You have a touch of destiny about you

this is your tag...only the tag fairy can color it for you...she is a unknown person who "chooses" to color your tag and maybe bestow a funny line that you have posted....
