Sept. 30, 2006 -- Eastern Magic

I am not booked yet, but hopefully will be by the end of the month on this September 30th cruise. I am a single mom with a 7-year old DD. She will actually be turning 8 on the cruise, so we will have a birthday bash for her. The first couple days she will be seven, so I was wondering how that works. Will they make her go in the 3-7 year old club until she has her actual birthday? I'm so afraid she will be bored if they do that.

Any input will be appreciated! Neither of us has been on a cruise before, I thought this would be a great birthday present for her!

:earsgirl:
If they are due to turn 8 within a month of the cruise, they allow them to go to the 8 group...My DD will be in the 8yo group as she will turn 8 on Feb 25th
They may even do something special for her on her Bday!

Great! We sail on Saturday and her birthday is Monday! I am also hoping that they will do something special for her birthday. If I'm not mistaken by all of the posts here, Monday is the "formal" night? That would be fun! Also double-great that you have an 8-year old DD too. They will have to hook up!

We're thinking of canceling our Oct 28th cruise and joining you all. May do a b2b by going on the 10/07 Western will make a decision in a day or two. :grouphug:

My sister and DBIL are on the Oct 28th...so either way, you are stuck with my loony family!

I happen to know that my family is the fun-est of the fun. Join us. You will so darn happy you did! :teeth: :Woo-Hoo!

Just emailed Debbie at DU to move our reservation. I'm just concern you guys might use up all the fun and they'll be none left for us. This shortens the countdown by 28 days. Now I have to hope the 10/07 cruise isn't full by the April 15th Cruise. :cool1:

WE've decided to cruise RCCL. I hope you all have a great cruise! I know you will! Happy sailing!

I signed up for this cruise because you were a lively bunch and today I find you on page three. Let's go people

Just beside myself with excitement! Sorry! Haven't been on this thread for a while. It just seems so far away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although January seems like it is FLYING by and September will be here in no time! :cool1:

Well, I am fun and rather lively...but I think we will probably not be going on this cruise. I finally checked my daughters school calendar for next year and there is a week in October that she will only miss 3 days (instead of 5) if we go then. Plus it is a better week for my husband. I need to go check it out with my travel agent. I hope you all have a great time though! :sunny:

Hello....I am paying off the cruise next week!! WOO HOO!!
Always makes it more "real"

We just moved from the 10/28/06 cruise to here. Just the dw & I. Hoping you will be the 1st B in our B2B. Looking to book 10/07 while on the 4/15 cruise

So, what scared you off the Halloween ship?

My sister (tchrmom) and DBIL (XLT800) are on that cruise..I wanted to do halloween this year (WEEE!! I can say this year now) but F&D booked first and DCL can't handle 2 sisters!

LOL!@

We will be going on sept 30 cruise. have a 4, 8, 11 year old going with us. hoping to find them friends. also taking grandparents with us.

kimmcbee: I will be on this cruise as well. Just me and my DD who will turn 8 on the cruise. Is your 8 year old a boy or girl? My DD is very outgoing and has no problems making friends, but it will be easier if she knew about someone ahead of time.

Hoping we will have a blast - I'm sure we will!

We're taking our annual girls only Disney trip on the cruise this time. It will be myself (33) my mother (she'd kill me to reveal her age) and my DDs (4 and 5). They've watched the planning video and I think it's going to be a struggle to keep them out of the oceaneer's club the whole time! My DDs go to year round school so they'll be out this week.

Hope to meet some great folks!!

we have all sons, but they all make friends very quickly. When is your daughter 8? Our son turned 8 in October. He will be glad to know someone else on the cruise.
