Hi,

I'm DiDi, I posted earlier. Last post was in November. Anyways, I'm back hoping to keep this thread alive. This will be our second cruise, DH and DS who is 9 (Patrick).

You'll see me often on this thread mostly in the AM and I mean early. 5AM is a wonderfully time to post when all is quiet in the house!!!

I'll get my DH to post also. He's known as DHMcEntee, also known as Bill.

I'll give you my coffee reports

BIL did an earlier post also, I'll have to kick his butt into action again since he's going with us along with his family.

I guess we are going again!!!

It will be me & DW (Kathy) & 2 DS's (13 & will be 10). I'd love to hook them up with some friends before we go.

My sister-in-law DiDi (pronounced Die-Die) can be a real nudge, but she's OK.

Bill & Patrick are exceptional.

Working on booking air travel w/Jet Blue. Man I love that airline.

Are there any 'Ham' radio people lurking?

You're 8 yr sure can hook up with my 9yr. His name is Patrick and he loves star wars legos, anything to do with science and of course swimming. He loves to ride the waves. So do I... His cousin Christopher is also in third grade, both will be in fourth grade in the fall. He's a cool and funny kid. His older brother is a sweetheart, but he'll be hanging with the teens probably.

Finally my DEAR BIL David is so nice. He finally got off his butt and joined in. Of course I had to call him yesterday to get cracking. Now for my DH his turn will be today, I'll be a nudge!!!

I think we should all get a pool going to see how many post we can get until the cruise...any takers out there?

Well the second cup of java is just fine today and the weather is in the balmy 50 degree zone in Boston. Got to love it, spring is around the corner.

I'm glad you joined the thread. Did you happen to read Barney's Brood line last year? You should have joined in. It was great to meet so many nice people. It really made the cruise an awesome experience. Keep on posting

I am sure the boys will have a great time. Hunter loves legos and anything to do with science. Our oldest will be celeberating his 12th birthday while onboard. His actual bday is the following week, but close enough to celebrate. the youngest will be 4, so he is the one I am woried about. He his a momma boy will be hard to get him to kids clubs I think. talk to you later.

Do all 8 year olds play with Lego Star Wars?? My son is obsessed with those things -- especially the little mini-figs and, of course, the computer game. I'd love to hook him up with some friends before we go too. Danny will be 8 when we cruise and, as I said, totally into Legos, sports, video games. He makes friends pretty easily, so I'm not too worried about the clubs. I'm the shy one, so I guess I need to "hook up" too. Thank goodness DH is overly friendly -- he talks and chats enough for both of us.

We are patiently waiting for our cruise, but will take a mini-vacation to Disneyland next month. I just couldn't go another month without a Disney fix.

Patrick loves the mini's, on Thursday before going off to school, he was searching for his mini Anikin. Star War legos are the best right now. Those lego's show up everywhere. They sure can bruise a foot if your not looking.

Kimmcbee and DisneyMom&Fan, maybe we should let the boys post so they can get to know each other?

My hubby has the gift of gab too. Don't worry about being shy, by the time we get to the cruise boat and posting for 5 long months we'll get to know each other so well you'll be ready to chat and party .

I'm looking forward to getting to know people on the board and hopefully making wonderful friends.

Hey DiDi,

Did you cruise on the Sept 24th Western last year? I kinda hit the boards

late last year, and did not have time to build any friendships. Welcome

everyone who is sailing. We had the time of our lives last year, and even

though we did not hook up with any disboard folks, we met so many nice

people. I am not sure about the barney board you mentioned?? My biggest

concern is the dress code on the beaches in St Marttan, and St thomas. I

know I might sound silly, but I want to be prepared for my DS4, and

especially my DS15 and how they are going to handle it??? I know that you

can link dinners too, but we are on second seating. Anyone else on second


seating??? We had it last time, and like it alot. We just fed the little guy by

room service, and or pluto's. he enjoyed the clubs too. No rushing around!!

Well lets get rolling with plans, excursions suggestions, etc.... Well, I have

to take my greyhound to see and orthopod, he broke his toe!!

Should I be concerned too about the beaches? Are they nude beaches or topless? I think I may have an issue too!!! I really don't want to expose my 9yr old to that. Please give me the scoop.

Yup, we went on the 24th of Sept. last year. It was an awesome trip, except for the fact that my FIL passed away while we were on it. We met so many nice people.

We have early seating since I can't seem to make it past 9PM. I'm an early bird, I was one of those sick individuals who was walking at 5:30AM and made it to every sunrise.
My 9 yr is on my schedule, and the DH is the night owl.

Too bad about your greyhound. How did he break his toe? Last year's group was called Barney's Brood after my Maine Coon Cat, who decided to get sick and hospitalized. Let's just say I managed to get alot of Disney points on my card for the cruise. I now have Pet Insurance for the beast

I'm ordering a Passporter and I'll have to look at my old one for this cruise. Let's get talking about excursions..

O.K, all i know is that when you read some of the trip reports, and look at the itienerary for the Eastern cruise. It does state right under the description of the beach excursions" because of the European influence beaches are clothing optional." Now... a girl who works with me said that when her boyfriend and herself sailed RCL, it was all old people walking around in there birthday suits!! i just don't know. I've been trying to read some trip reports to see what the deal is. I will research some more. my greyhound broke his toe running around my yard like a maniac. He is a retired racer so it's in his blood. Alright well, I will work on the beach thing. I love the beach!!! Thanks for chatting. Oh, and i am so sorry about your

Would love to have the boys get to know eachother before we leave, but the boys have no clue what we are doing. My mom has a house in Fl so we are telling them we are going to vist for a week. But we are going to make a wrong turn, and she will be going with us.

Hope to get to know all of you better in the next few months and cant wait to all meet onboard.

I'm enjoying my first cup of coffee an thought I'd send a hello to everyone .

I'm thinking of taking an extra couple of days prior to the cruise to go to DW. Are any of you going to do the same? Even though I enjoyed the cruise last year I sure did miss the parks. I think I need a fix on the rock in roll rollacoster and a few drops from the hotel. I really want to try the new ride in Animal Kingdom and scream when I see the yeti !!!

I'm right with you Patti, I'll be reading up on the beaches. Naked old people are not my cup of tea, gosh I get scared just seeing myself in my birthday suit. Personally I like seeing tan marks so that I can compare my base tan to the other un tanned places of my body. Not to mention the fact that some parts of this old body are sagging!!!! I need all the support I can get out of my bathing suit!!!

We are leaning towards 2 nights at Ron Jon's before the cruise and possibly the Saturday night afterwards.

What's everyone else doing?

I'm not sure what the transportation is going to be yet. Any ideas?

I'm 40 & I still like LEGO's To quote Jimmy Buffett: "I'm growing older, not up."

Hi everyone! Back to work today, but I thought I would check in with you all first. DS had the stomach flu last week, so we were home Thurs. & Fri., but he seems to be ok today, just a little slow in eating yet.

Didi -- that would be great to have our sons post. DS is always looking over my shoulder anyways. I'll get him set up with his own user name and let you know when he's ready.

David - We are thinking about staying the night before at Ron Jon's too. We are taking the red eye from the West Coast and arriving at 7:30 in the morning (the day before) and then heading straight there. We want to hang out and get REALLY RELAXED before the cruise even starts. If we have to pay for 2 nights to get the room early, we will.

I just purchased our airfare yesterday -- Alaska Airlines had the only affordable non-stops that we wanted. What's that saying? It'll cost ya...

Angela, sounds great I'll get Patrick set up this week. He's looking forward to meeting new friends. So you'll be staying at Ron Jon's too!! I'll be there also, hopefully by the Thursday before we take off. We should plan to meet up then, the kids will bond while having fun in the water.

I see this will be your first cruise. You'll have a great time, I enjoyed myself on the first one and now I'm going back. I'm so happy you are going to DL, I wish I could go too.....

I just checked with JetBlue we still can not book our flight. I want to have everything booked and done like yesterday....

Well time for dinner, meatloaf, potato and corn. The menfolk need food!!!!!!

Just a few words before I go to work. We are going to the Ron Jon for a week in July. We really enjoy it there. Beach update: another dis'boarder just back from the eastern told me that when they went to Orient bay, there were a few topless gals, and one naked jogger. She said her little guy did not even notice, and here 13 y/o gawked a little, but otherwise she said the beach got crowded, and it was not a problem. I just did not want anyone surprises. I have my son graduating from High school in May. My sister coming to Florida in April, the Ron Jon in july, and the magic in september!!! What a wonderful life.
