Ok...did my first cruise shopping this weekend (late start since I just booked and paid last weekend)! Restocked the "first aid/med" travel kit and bought myself a new sundress!

Anyone every done the rainforest one day pass? Thinking about it... My son is 17 and I didn't see a lot of him on the cruise last year so thinking about some R&R for myself......is it worth it?

Hi Everyone! Been checking out this board for a couple of weeks and joined the FB page. Though it about time I introduced myself. I'm Melissa and this will be my family's first Disney cruise. We are very excited about but haven't told my 6 year old son that we are going on the cruise. Won't he be surprised!? He has cruised before and loved it so I think he'll have a fantastic time.

I have lived about 45 minutes from the Disney resort area for the past 17 years. Unforutnately, we've only been to that parks a handful of times. I will admit that we do wave hello to the Mickey power pole on I-4 every single time we drive by it! Who can resist doing that.

Hiya, Melissa! Your son is going to be beside himself with excitement when he finds out he's sailing with Mickey. I wish we could pull a surprise like that off with our boys. Lol! I understand about living close but not going that much. Of the 10 years I lived around the Orlando metro area we had seasonal passes for just 2 years. All the other years we didn't go much either. Just wasn't the thing to do most of the time.

I'm still super excited! Can't wait!

I just came across this thread & I'm so excited to learn about our fellow travelers! I'll be going with dh, our kids 9,9,5,3, my sister & mom. Is there anyone coordinating FE's gifts (I think that's what they're called) for this cruise? I can't find a thread, and I'm hoping I'm not too late! :/

Ok I'm going to volunteer to organise a Fish Extender Exchange for our cruise. I have participated in one before but not organised one so please bear with me

What's an FE? For those of you who aren't familiar with the fish extender exchange, here are a few post links which explain it all:

If you are interested in joining the FE exchange for our Dream cruise, please send me an email at disneydreamsept2012@yahoo.com. In the email send me your stateroom number, Disboard name, first name of each person in the stateroom, relationship to you (DH, DW, DP, DD, DS, DM, etc.) including ages and gender of children.

Group size will depend on how many people we have sign up, but we will have a cut off date in September for FE participants that want to make their gifts but do not want to run out of time.

Once I get confirmation from interested people I will send out a spreadsheet to all those participating and keep updated where necessary (hopefully )

If you haven't ever cruised before or not participated in an FE exchange, give it a go, it's lots of fun and there is nothing quite like arriving back at your cabin to find a surprise gift in your Fish Extender!

I am going to go through the emails today and send out info for the Fe group to people that have gown interest. I think we will have around 5-6 cabins, which isn't a huge amount but I'm going to go ahead with it. Also for the cruisers that haven't participated in an FE before its a gentle introduction!!

I will post a list of names both here and on the fb group later today, so if your name isn't on it but you'd like to join just send me a message!!

We are so excited to be on this cruise. We've done other Disney cruises (mostly on Magic and Wonder) and have enjoyed them all. We were on the Dream in April with our grandchildren (5,3) and didn't get to explore all of the adult areas, so that is on our agenda this time.
Looking forward to meeting lots of new friends.

Hello all! Just booked this cruise yesterday, still kind of in shock as it was unexpected! My DS (15) has the Thursday and Friday off from school, so I had scheduled vacation at the same time, and was just looking around for something to do. We live in Florida, and the resident rate was too good to pass up, so here we are! We've been on four Disney cruises before, all of them 3 nights. I'm really hoping for a 7 night on the Fantasy one day, but that'll take a little more savings than I have currently.

We were hoping some family members would be joining us, but it doesn't look like it, so will just be me and my son. I'm Lynn (37) and DS is Noah. I see there is a facebook page, so I will pop over there shortly. Looking forward to this cruise!!!

Thanks yes, I think we will! I've seen them onboard and read about them here of course, but never participated. This will be a good time to try it out!

welcome Lynn and Noah. We did the same thing when we got my son's school year calendar. This cruise fit perfectly in to the time we had available. Looking forward to getting on the ship!
