Sept. 27, 2012 Disney Dreamers on the Dream

Hi Everyone!
My husband has just booked this cruise to celebrate my milestone birthday :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: (the actual number :scared1: really not necessary..haha!). And my in-laws will be joining us.

I see that Hazel & Annie are on this cruise - we were previously on the 2011 WBTA - what a blast! :thumbsup2

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Roger & Peggy :)

:welcome: aboard Roger & Peggy
Nice to see a name I recognise, :cool1: :cool1:
I have to say it was the people we met on the 2011 WBTA and the fun we had at sea that hooked us into cruising.
Very excited to be getting to sail on the Dream :banana

It looks like you 2 are going to WDW before this cruise. What a great trip you have planned!

Looking forward to seeing you! :)

Yes we had our wdw trip booked last year and then just recently decided to put the cruise in the middle of it as wanted to try one of the bigger ships, and I loved Castaway Cay , it was pixiedust:

That's going to be a wonderful trip! The cruise is a good idea, so you can relax a little - going to the parks at WDW is fun and exhausting!

We just spent a week at WDW and had a blast! We were lucky that we could get everyone (both college kids & hubby) together for the week. Such fun. :goodvibes

Looking forward to the day at Castaway Cay - if the weather is a nice as it was last time, it'll be perfect! (Too bad we can't go back to Jost Van Dyke...that was the most beautiful beach I've ever seen. The drinks weren't bad either! )

Jost Van Dyke was one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. It's my happy place I think about if I have a bad day at work or the weather is absolutely miserable!
The weather at Castaway Cay was perfect last year until the rain storm!! It may not have a Painkiller, but there is always the Conch Cooler! :dance3:

Haven't sailed Disney since the Big Red Boat. Any tips?

DW is off to a convention for the weekend. When she gets back we'll probably open a couple of suitcases and start throwing things in. One for the WDW stay and one for the cruise.
It's time to get a little antsy!!!!
Can't preregister til 7/16.

Hi Bill!
We also went on the Big Red boat, many years ago when the kids were very little. That was a very fun cruise! DCL is awesome!!! :thumbsup2 We are looking forward to being on the Dream. Lately, we've been exclusive to the Magic.

We just got back from WDW, and I'm ready to return...it was so much fun this time. We were able to get our college-age kids all together for the week. WDW is different when your kids are adults! Different, but very fun!
I know you're looking forward to your trip. :goodvibes

My recommendation for the cruise would be just to relax and enjoy yourself. :)

Awww...that's so cute!:banana: Lauren & I will be some very special Birthday girls princess: onboard, won't we?
I'll be the one dressed up with feathers/tiaras, etc and of course, a drink in my hand....pardon me, but my New Orleans :joker: roots are showing. :)

Seriously, we are very much looking forward to this cruise - mainly to relax and check out the Dream!

Just had to Google the Big Red Boat as had no idea what it was :confused3

Wow! Disney cruises have come a long way since then! :wizard:

My tip would be relax, enjoy and take in as much of the ship as possible. Oh and drinks of the day are always recommended :dance3:

On another board some one was complaining that if you're a first time Disney cruiser by the time they were able to checkin online and pick excursions, the excursions were all full. Does that happen? We can't do our checkin until 7/16.

And did we decide on the fish extenders?

Bill

We were first time Disney cruisers last year and the excursions were still available , so you should be ok with this one I'd imagine.

No other feedback so far on fish extenders, but hopefully some other people will be up for it

Ditto! :thumbsup2
My favorite drink of the day was the BBC :lovestruc - it was like a frozen chocolate milkshake with banana... Yum!

My dod never changes. Just give alot of sunshine and a vodka and tonic

Bill

Is there a formal nite on the cruise or is it all smart casual????

Bill

Here is what I understand for the 3-night cruise dinner dress:
1st night - Casual
2nd night - Pirate night pirate:
3rd night - Dress up night (not formal) princess:

Hope this helps.

We will probably dress in cocktail attire for dress up night - we like to dress up! :thumbsup2
