Does anyone have an eight or nine year old son who would be interested in making a new friend on the cruise? My son is an only child and would really like to connect with some other boys around his age.

If you want some designs have some made by lovely ladies here on DIS. There is a lovely thread on main cruise board with lots of cool designs that ladies have made for others. I can laminate for you.

Same here Crystal. I had to go on several other forums to read reviews and verify that Royal Caribbean approved the atv company before I booked. Better safe than sorry.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. We are all going to have such a great time on the ATV excursion!!

No kidding. I'm going to call again to confirm my pickup at the Dolphin once they assign a room to out GTY reservation. Still no room number!

Ugggg - I'm sure that's frustrating!! Hopefully, by the end of the week, they will release them!!

We're also going on the ATV trip. I suspect it's not offered by DCL due to the Orient Beach stop. By US standards that wouldn't be consistent with a "family friendly" excursion.

In other news, my younger son, Seth, just got a note from school today that he is switching to a new class, starting tomorrow. We were told last night at the 3rd grade parents' meeting that some kids would be switching classes due to overcrowding, but we thought if Seth got switched, he'd be moved to the new teacher's classroom. Instead, he is being moved to one of the existing teachers' rooms. It makes me think that his current teacher wanted to get rid of him. I hope I am wrong, b/c that makes me sad to think about that.

I also sent letters to both of the boys' schools asking for them to excuse their absences for our vacation. Haven't heard anything back from the elementary or the middle school yet. Grrr....

That stinks that your son got moved, but hopefully he likes his new teacher more than the one he was first assigned to. And, please do keep us posted about whether you hear anything from the school. I'm going to try and volunteer once or twice before giving them "the notice."

I personally printed mine on cardstock, laminated using new thermal laminater I bought myself. and will buy magnetic tape from walmart and cut pieces to stick on back of things i printed.

Ah, sounds like THE perfect excuse to book yourself another cruise while aboard. If rumours are right, the 2011 cruises should go on sail in october, so you can book one right then and there.

Are we supposed to be meeting somewhere in the terminal before boarding the ship? I can't remember if I read a post about this or not. What time is everyone planning on getting to the terminal?

Our flight lands at noon, so we won't make it early enough for a meet-up at the terminal. But as soon as we get on the ship I will be on deck 9 with alcohol in hand.

There is supposed to be a way if you are flying star alliance to get reference to your silver status on us air.

Have not played with it yet.

The trick is even if you have an existing flight on United to link that reservation to your new US Air silver status.

No, I'm not worried. Our flight is straight through & we fly down to FL frequently to see family & have never had a problem. We were supposed to be getting in at 11:20, but they changed it, which bummed me out, but what to do? I will definitely breathe a sigh of relief when we get to the bus though!

You can click on the link in my signature line.....See Who's Cruisin With Us 9-26-09.....and there will be a list of everyone sailing.....The FE by each name are the ones participating in the FE....also on page 114 is a list by deck. Hope this helps. I think we are up to about 40 FE cabins.

Unless of course my carry on bag does not fit through the x ray machine. I may have to make room on the spot.

I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. I figured the path/conversations were being held with parental knowledge, so I didn't feel it was particularly my place to intervene as my kids were not in the mix... R

I guess you can get up set with me then. I do apologize. I just REALLY moniter what our kids do/say/read/post on the internet. I have read every single post on the kids thread and up until when I stepped in and posted hadn't said a word. I think sometimes kids [and adults...just look at Fat Cats thread on the main board ] forget that the person reading the post interputs the emotions your trying to convay in their own way..and sadly sometimes it isn't even emotions you had ment in the first place. So again if I offended ANYONE I am sorry. But when it comes to my kids I would do it again.

Whew...thought I had uspet you. I thought I had been very sweet/kind with my kids post..or at least that was what my intention was , but like you said it really seems to be looking up and the kids are all being very nice now.
