Do you know where the "kids thread" is?

R

We would also love to find the kids meet thread. Our kids are on FB, but not sure who else allows that. If someone could clue us in that would be great!

:woohoo::woohoo: Hi everyone!!! I am so excited. Just got a call from my very best "Disney" friend in Los Angeles and she is going to try and talk her husband into going on this cruise. I met them on the Disney Wonder in Sept 2006 when it was doing the 11 Night Southern Caribbean. We have sailed on Disney together every September since. In 2007 I flew to Barcelona to meet up with her and did the TA back home, in 2008 she surprised me and did the special 5 night on the Magic after she had just done the Panama Canal. And now we may get to do this cruise! Even tho I live in Mississippi and she is in California, we have stayed in touch and become really good friends! Isnt Disney the best!!!!

They just got back from doing the Adventures by Disney trip to Peru so I hope that she can talk her hubby into going on the cruise....told her to let me know if I needed to call him and beg!!!:rotfl:

That is so exciting! How fun it would be to meet someone with common travel interests and to stay in touch. If they do come, I would love to meet them and hear their stories about the trip to Peru.

Who's doing what in St Thomas?

I suspect there's a "list" somewhere, but I've lost track of things in the last month or so... Particularly with the summer break. Children go back to school next Tuesday!

I'm not sure what everyone else has planned, but our family is debating between taking a private cab to Maagen's Bay (cheaper) or trying the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel. Both got great reviews in PassPorter's.

My sister and I are doing a tour of St. Johns

We're doing the cab to Maagen's Bay. I heard it was beautiful, so I definitely want to go there!

Any idea how much a cab will be to the beach in St. Thomas? :beach: I guess I can try to "google" it, but thought I would ask on here first...

Update....found a website for Islander Taxi Service. :drive: They take reservations so I may check on that one. I want someone I can trust!! Looks like they have large bus/vans/trucks that maybe several of us could share if anyone is interested. I am all for saving some money especially after I get thru this wedding in 2 weeks!!:faint:

When I went on a Disney Cruise 2 years ago to St. Marten we had heard from previous cruisers NOT to do Maagen's Bay as a shore excursion and they were right. It only cost 8 bucks for two people to take the taxi and we did not need a reservation. To get into the park it cost a couple of dollars.. I think like 3 bucks. There are a lot of what they call " open air" Taxi's that hold about 10-12 people. I think this is a safer route than getting in a closed taxi with a scary cab driver. When you get to the beach there are a lot a the same taxi's waiting.

FYI... The ride is super windy... but worth it!! It is definatley a must do... The beach sits between what looks like two mountains... AWESOME. I hope this helps.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but can anyone tell me what kind of magnetic paper to buy to make my door magnets?

I seem to remember someone saying that they bought some that you can just adhere your photo to, and cut out, rather than putting the paper into a printer. Am I confused, or did someone here mention that?

The reason I am asking is that our inkjet here at home is on the fritz, and DH doesn't want to try using the printer at his office b/c he's afraid the magnetic paper will ruin their printer. :confused3

Yes, that does help. Thank you!

We have 2 little ones (6 and 2). We don't want to trek all over the place in the ports. If we get off the ship, we may just do the butterfly farm in St Thomas. I think this is the one that is walking distance from the ship. It could be St Maarten...I guess I need to check on this one. Anyway, my girls will love this for sure! :lovestruc

But we will probably just take advantage of the less-crowded pools on the ship.

We did it on our honeymoon 8 years ago and it was fun, beautiful views. I don't remember if you could bring a stroller on it though. I found their website. http://www.paradisepointtramway.com/index.php

I'm just buying the magnetic paper sheets and running them through my printer. What about a Kinko's? Will they be able to do something like this?

Are we supposed to be meeting somewhere in the terminal before boarding the ship? I can't remember if I read a post about this or not. :confused3What time is everyone planning on getting to the terminal?

What time is everyone planning on getting to the terminal?

Whatever time the busses from the Dolphin get me there. ;)

Seriously, I called the other day to tell Disney that we booked our pre cruise night at the Dolphin ($109/night on Priceline!) and asked them how they will know to pick us up there for the cruise.

First the woman on the phone said they don't pick up at the Dolphin, to which I said that was BS. Then she said it was going to be an extra DOLLAR per person and why didn't I book it when I made my reservation last September...?

I said, are you really wanting $2 from me to cover this? Really? In the same phone call I was booking the 14 day eastbound transatlantic next April. She ended up putting me on hold for 5 minutes to tell me that I can keep my $2. Oh good.

:sad2:

Anyway, woo woo.... it's getting close! :yay:

Jules,

That is ridiculous! Sometimes I wonder where Disney's logic and reasoning is in their thinking!
