OK, I am in for Fish Extenders. When I bought a whole bunch of little ******s today I committed myself!!!

Now I just have to figure out how to make a semi-presentable FE. Wish me luck!!

And no, I am not going to tell you what *****s are, you will just have to wait 8 months and 5-ish days to find out

Hi everyone. I'm only on page 6 of 37 in the posts so since it will take some time get through them, I wanted to go ahead and post myself.

Our family of 4 will be joining you on the Disney Magic on September 26th. We are so looking forward to it as it will be the first cruise for my children. My DH and I are experienced cruisers as we have been on 10 together (and we met on one), but this is our first Disney experience. We are currently suffering through a miserable winter in NE Pennsylvania, and are using thoughts of our upcoming cruise to keep us warm.

Looking forward to getting to know you all so we have some company aboard the ship. Seems like there are a lot of things I need to know, so if you know of anything off the bat that I could look for in the 37 pages of posts, I'd so greatly appreciate a heads up. I can tell you already we'll be in for the fish extenders. Do we make them on our own or order them? Also, I think I saw something about a gift exchange, lanyards with nametags??? Anyway, I'll be going through the posts, but there's just so much. We're in stateroom 2534.

My apologies in advance for all the newbie questions!! There will be many I'm sure.

I've read you guys talking about the Passporter. I googled it and found the site. I see they have one coming out for 2009. What is your suggestion on waiting until the '09 version comes out or just ordering a 2008 one. What about Deluxe versus just the book?

I am not usually the welcome wagon but I do have a definitive opinion about the Passporter.

You should absolutely get one and I would wait for the 2009 edition to get the most up to date info. If you are itching to get your hands on one now, check your library or Passporter has the 4th edition (2006) in the closeout section for 7 bucks. I would guess about 75% (or more) of the information is the same, especially for the ship itself. The big differences would be shore excursions and pricing.

I would get the deluxe edition only if you are a full on Disney nut and think that you will order more Passporters in the future, either for the parks or cruise.

You have inspired me, I am off to pre-order the 2009 Cruise Edition right now.

Thanks S-T. I'll preorder the 2009 version. So anxious. We won't get it until April, but worth it to get the most up to date info. And since my DH and I are cruise-aholics and we have two very young children, I imagine Disney and DCL are in our future more than just this September.

After reading several TRs last night and just going through the posts for this cruise, I'm super excited. Let's just hope the economy in our household doesn't experience any job loss or huge obstacles that would force us to cancel. I don't want to even fathom it.

There was a previous post about guilt regarding the cruise. I do have some guilt that we should be saving the money for emergency in case of job loss or otherwise. But who knows how long this economy is going to be so bad. It could be years. I can't stop my life and miss out on these amazing young years with my children by worrying about "what if". We are thankful that we'll be able to cancel the cruise at no charge all the way through July. So knowing that has allowed us to be more excited about it since we feel that if something were to happen, we'd have that time to cancel. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen.

I know I had a slew of ?s already, but I do have one more. You guys use a lot of acronyms that I'm not familiar with. I know typical chat board ones like DH, DS, etc, but DCL or Disney specific ones I'm clueless on. Is there a page on this site that would allow me to decipher those? I got a few down but need help with several other. If not, I'll just ask along the way.

Ann, sorry to read you wont be joining us. Maybe I'll be meeting you a short year later, I'm also booked on the same TA and fingers crossed I can come up with the cash for it.

Spectroturbo; you enjoy torturing us, don't you? I've got an idea of what to get, but probably wont actually take care of things untill way to short before the trip.

Haven't been on the DIS for a pretty long time. Shortly after NE, my grandfather began to have some healthissues. Appeared to be minor, but did get admitted to hospital. Last week he did after only 14 days in hospital, only 4 days after getting diagnosed with 3 different types of cancer. It has been a pretty rough couple of weeks and didn't particularly feel like checking out the DIS.

Can you all believe that in only 8 more months we'll actually already be onboard the Magic? I sure can't!

As soon as the group decides on Character Date and PJ breakfast, we'll decide whether or not we'll sign up. Since it's our first DCL adventure, we'll definitely be wanting to do the character breakfast. So whatever works out will be with that in mind first.

Hi all. its been a while since I've posted but I've been keeping up by lurking. I do have one small change, well I guess its not so small. My husband or should I say "soon to be ex" husband will not be traveling with us on the cruise so I'm going to have to play the "someone to be named" later game until I figure out who is going with me. Its been an interesting month but at least I'm getting "custody" of the cruise. I might have had to fight him for it and drag everything through a long court process but he relented once I reminded him it was my birthday cruise.

Welcome new cruisers! Eight months from today and we will be ON THE SHIP!

Heatherlynn...you and your hubby are close in age to my hubby and me. And I just read some of your trip reports and I think you're my long lost sister. I too am an overly organized planner and a picky eater and my shihtzu Cupcake also wears sweaters (and dresses...).

So my DH pirate costume came recently! Just needs a few alterations to make it fit better (don't want any sleeves in the pirate buffet!). Also got DH some cruise clothes (dress shirts, pants) and some new sungalsses and more DISNEY TIES! Now he has one for all the fancy dinners.

Great Minds Think alike.. So far I have enough for every single cabin for 5 of the 7 days. DH saw all the stuff which equals one HUGE suitcase and siad "oh my goodness, are we giving presents to EVERY SINGLE person on the cruise"? I told him it is actually a good thing.I will pack all the stuff into one big suitcase and it will be emptyed by the end of the cruise and then we can fill it up with all the new stuff we will get or buy. Each cruise we NEVER have enough room for all the new stuff and end up carrying a ton of it with us. Its really cool both of my DD's are getting really into it..and are planing on how to wrap or create cute packages for all of the stuff. Now I just have approx 25 more things for the last two days.
