Corking fee of $18.00 plus cost of wine. Is a bottle of wine on the cruise more than this? I am a huge lover of Santa Margherita pinot grigio. I pay about $24.00 per bottle. The bottle of the same wine is $42.00. The cost of me bringing wine + the corking fee is $42.00. Am I dumb or isn't it easier just to let them supply the wine? What about signing up for the 25% off wine package? How much wine do I have to drink? ]
Hi, we dont' drink any alcohol, but I have read many post/threads about his very subject and also in my passporter. The most economical way to go about his would be to bring a few bottles of your favorite wine with you on board along with your own wine opener. Open your wine bottle and pour you a glass and bring it with you to dinner..which alot of folks do, or in the passporter it says "commit to a bottle of wine for each night of the cruise and save more then 25%. You can choose your wine from a list at each meal. The classic wine package is $179 on a 7 night cruise. If you don't finish an entire bottle of wine at dinner, take it back to your room or ask your assistant server to keep it for you until your next meal. Unopened bottles may be taken back home, but they count towards your customs allowance". The passporter also reminds you that if you run out of wine that you brought your self you are allowed to pick up more bottles at any port and bring them back onto the ship with you. Just remember you can not purchase any alcohol at the ships shop and consume it on the ship. If you buy it they will keep it for you and deliver it to you on your last night. Hope all this information helps.
