Sept. 26,2009 Magic part 2

I'm postive your DS an wear dressy shorts in DR. On our last cruise there was a couple with no dressy clothes as their TA failed to tell them this and I'm sure the husband wore docker shorts most nights and she wore dressier shirt and docker type shorts.

Thanks so much. Just realized I need some boat shoes for him though. He doesn't have an in between pair of shoes that would go with nice shorts. UGGG. I thought I was done shopping.

Today, I've tried more pirate costumes, hated them all. Either too tight, covers barely my bottom or material is awful. I've decided to wear my strapless black dress (casual) with some pearls and bangles. I am all set! Forget it! Tired of looking around.

P.S. Getting very cold at night in Ohio. Not happy at all.

Add an eye patch and you'll be all set!!!!!!

Some of you have posted some great packing advice and protocols. I need your help again. I was summoned over to PhatCat’s (it was after 6 PM - therefore "Phat" prefix) house tonight to assist with his packing for cruise. We are currently having a drink and staring at suitcase as we are now stumped – having difficulty finding room for the crab shorts, bag of nahcos for nacho bar, last jar of fart-putty, pump for anniversary night, and old throw-away t-shirt. Would appreciate any advice? Here is our progress so far . . .

I can't believe PhatCat/FatCat has an identical twin. Double the fun!!

I just finished making all the dis name tags. I only made the adult ones..if you really want your little one to have one then please let me know. :thumbsup2 Now I just have to find a cutter that can make one fast clean long cut. Maybe kinkos? Hope you all like them. Oh and BTW if you did not have your name on the master list then I was unable to make you a tag. :upsidedow

We have one of those paper cutters from Michaels or AC Moore. I use it for scrapbooking. It's handy for so many things. Anyway, it's only like $10 or $15. I use mine a lot on cardstock and works great.

Hey everyone! I'm finally up & around with enough energy to be on the computer! I'm feeling ok - my ears still haven't popped which makes me nervous, but I'll call the doc if that's still the case on Monday.

I have not even started packing yet, but I hope to have the energy in the next few days! I can't believe we're almost there!!!!!! My house looks like a tornado hit it. DH has been so sweet & really ponied up to take care of the kids to let me rest, but the house.......well, it's bad......

Take it easy!!! It's more important for you to feel better than it is for a clean house. After all, the house will be empty next week. :)

We haven't started packing. We're off to an Irish music festival today, so maybe tomorrow!

Anyone up for karaoke on the boat? :rolleyes1

Sign me up. :rolleyes1

"Do you like Pina Coladas?!?! Getting caught in the rain?!?!?! I'm not much into health food. I am into champagne."

Or maybe...

"Sing us a song your the piano man...sing us a song tonighttttt. Well we're all in the mood for a melody. And you've got us feeling all right."

Thank you. Thank you. I'll be here 'til Wednesday. And remember to tip your waitresses.

How could I forget you Crystal...

Love love your pictures. Ansley is too cute for words. She is like the perfect combination of you and Randy!!!

Sooo excited to meet everyone next week. We are going to have so much fun!!! :grouphug:

You could be describing my 3-year-old. We had to chase him down yesterday when he ran out, butt nekkid, into my parents' backyard and onto the adjoining golf course. Not sure how many neighbors got a show...

OMG!!! I take it back. I no longer hate my job. :( That's tough. You are an :littleangel:

Are Zuperdaave and I the only ones who are driving the morning of the cruise to the port? We are only 2 1/2 hours away.

We're kind of doing that. We live 2 hrs from Orlando on the west coast. But we are leaving Thursday and staying at the Dolphin for 2 nights and then driving to the port Saturday morning. It's nice knowing we don't have a long drive or plane ride.

Well, we all knew the risk of cruising at the peak of hurricane season!! But we're still over a week away, so the orange one will have come and gone by then, whatever it does. Since we live in FL, my concern is if something happens while we're away and our house isn't boarded up!

I agree!

I'm still deciding about the whole autograph book thing. I may just buy one in Orlando when we are there. I think it would be too much of a hassle to make one at this point!

Okay, kids and DH are packed. Almost our entire dining room table is now covered. I think I'll start putting their stuff in suitcases tomorrow or Monday am. I won't pack until Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday. Then we leave Thursday at noon! Yeah!

Here's a pic of my kids, too. Hannah is 6 and Grace will be 2 in about 10 minutes! See yall soon!

We are driving over Friday and staying at the Radisson. We've never driven past WDW and wanted to not be stressing the morning of.

Speaking of stressing, starting to panic a bit getting so close! Went ahead and did a tough cleaning on the house (even mopped the floors ) so we just need to do a light run thru before we leave (can't return to a messy house dreading it the whole time ruins my vacation). Haven't officially packed anything, just have a mound of stuff in my guest room. Awesome.

Have we had any response from the last two FE participants? Or am I just supposed to wander the ship looking for an FE? :confused3

Why would you want to prepay them?

:confused3

That would be like tipping your waitress before you even get to the restaurant. :)

I have been on 10 cruises, granted, not Disney. Never not once have we ever had bad service from a room steward or waiters/assistant waiters in the last 12 years. Has anyone on here received bad service that they didn't tip on Disney? Just curious as I would think that for all the extra $$$ we are paying to go on Disney this time versus Royal Caribbean, that the service would almost be 10 times better. :)

At this time, it is just easier than carrying around all of this extra money for tipping. If it's one less thing I have to worry about (and calculate because I suck at math), then I'd just rather take care of it ahead of time. And if they go above and beyond, we can add extra $ to the envelopes then. Since we get some type of voucher in our room to give everyone on tip night. And if we pay for it before the trip, DH seems to feel less stressed about the final room bill since it "appears" a little lower. Which means more fun for me and the kids. LOL.

THANKS FOURS!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRACE!!! WE'LL ALL BE CELEBRATING WITH YOU SOON!!party:

I was cracking up at your "staging area" in the dining room. Have fun getting it all into the luggage now.

Gotta join you in the cleaning. I agree though...can't leave a messy house. I'm hoping to get that all done on Tuesday since I'll be home. But have to manage to find time for a pedicure. :) Sometimes being a girl is good.

I'll be wandering right along with you! Maybe they aren't cruising anymore?:confused3

Yep, I definitely have to do this today since we are having family over for dinner tonight!

Ugh, cleaning. I'm hoping to get a pedi before I go as well. DH said to just get one on the ship, but I told him that I'd be paying 2 or 3 times as much! So hopefully I can get there sometime in the next couple of days.

THANKS FOURS!!!

On the final night we received little envelopes for each staff member we needed to tip and it was filled with a little voucher for them with the predetermined amount. We could add more if we wanted.... or, my table mates decided that they never saw the maitre d and that his money should go to our waiter.... they had to stand in like for 45 min to do that.

Anyway, if it's about less stress, woo woo! Knock yourself out!

Yeah, we've had that happen a couple times as well. We don't see the maitre'd until the 2nd to last night. Then he shows up at the table to say "hi". I'm sure that he's really saying "Hi, don't forget to give me my tip". LOL!
