Thank you!!! I don't find out until November 18th, so I'm in weird "graduated from law school but not a lawyer yet" limbo until then. Congrats to your friend! I don't want to take the bar exam EVER again - it really does take over your life!
I see a lot of cocktails in my future too, haha. Hopefully I'll be able to control myself so that my onboard bill at the end of the week isn't astronomical! We don't have any excursions planned, so we should be able to keep it reasonable. I'm perfectly fine with just walking around and exploring a little bit. Is everyone else doing excursions?
Congratulations in advance!!! I'm impressed that you graduated from law school!
We're doing excursions. The older two boys are going with my dh and doing the Canopy Adventure on our second Cabo day. I'll be taking the two younger kids on the dolphin swim. On the PV day, we're going to Crown Paradise and staying there for the day - they have beaches and pools that cruisers can take advantage of for a really reasonable fee. (I forget what it is right now!) We needed a beach day and that will be it!
possibly but we are just going with the flow. We are looking into the CC path as we know it will hit us before to long. But you just never know with the rules changing what the cc. will want or expect etc,. We actually do multiple grades and let her run with it. She is extremely adv. in somethings, and just a few years in others it makes me crazy at times trying to keep up. I look forward to talking with you as we are first timers with this adv. stuff. She doesn't know what to say sometimes about what grade as it depends on how the "questioning" is proposed.
Does Sam like the cc does it have any drawbacks? What does he say when he's asked about grade level?!!
[/QUOTE]
Sam just says he's in 10th grade. Makes it easier. Then, if they ask what classes he's taking, he'll tell them about the CC classes. It's worked pretty well so far. This way, he is with his peers in other classes - Sunday School, etc.
He LOVES the CC. Loves it! It's hard work, but these are things I cannot teach him (well, I guess I could, but I have three other kids to think about!). I think he really likes the independence, as well as having an expert in the field to teach him. He consistently gets the highest grades in the class! Drawbacks - just two - cost and getting him there. Oh - one more. Schedule. We can't up and travel at any time of year anymore. We have to take his breaks into account. Worth it in the end though!
ETA: One more thing. I think if my ds were taking certain classes, I'd be a bit more concerned about content. For example, certain themes in literature I think is best studied at an older age. (He was in 8th grade when he took precalculus at the CC. But if he'd been in an english class where they were studying the Scarlet Letter, I think he'd have had a hard time keeping up with the discussions.) Just something else to think about. My ds takes math and science out there for now. Not really any controversial themes there!
I can't wait to talk with you about this too! Homeschooling is a passion of mine!
We are on the repo and on this one as well. I'm not sure if I will get a chance to post here, but I will try.
What we have heard for drydock is the updating of Route 66 to make it match the West Coast (updating mileage, I think) and the murals behind guest services and the shore excursion desk to reflect West Coast ports and not the Caribbean.
At one point there was talk of adding the virtual portholes to the Wonder, but the powers that be (you know, those guys) were wondering if they could get it done in two weeks. It's a little different retrofitting something as opposed to doing when it is being built.
Again, I will try to post from on board (or Victoria) so stay tuned.
Thank you! Now I know who to stalk, um, er, I mean contact with questions!!!!
I think this was from our last cruise:
Look for us!
You guys look GREAT!!!! Which cruise were you on last? You guys all have the same eyes! They're really pretty!
does anyone know if the ships have 3D capability in the movie theaters? My kids were wondering if they would be able to see the new Lion King in 3D on board!
