Sept 25, 2011 Wonder - Mexican Riviera

mamacrumbcake list is correct......

Sunday September 25th – LA

Monday Sept. 26th – At Sea – Formal Night

Tuesday Sept. 27th – At Sea

Wednesday Sept. 28th – Puerto Vallarta (7:30-7pm)

Thursday Sept. 29th – Cabo (11:15am – 7pm) – Pirate Night

Friday Sept. 30th – Cabo (7:15am – 1:30pm) – Semi Formal Night

Saturday Oct.1st – At Sea

Sunday Oct. 2nd – LA

FWIW, I spoke with someone from DCL yesterday and she said that the itinerary for our cruise is as follows:

Day 1 Los Angeles Casual
Day 2 At Sea Formal Night - (Monday)
Day 3 At Sea Casual (Tuesday)
Day 4 Puerta Vallarta (7:30 - 7:00) Casual (Wednesday)
Day 5 Cabo San Lucas 11:15 - 7:00 PM Pirate Night (Thursday)
Day 6 Cabo San Lucas 7:15 - 1:30 Semi-Formal - (Friday)
Day 7 At Sea Casual (Saturday)

Our travel agent went on this cruise in the spring and her personal navigators matched the schedule that DCL gave me yesterday. We made our Palo reservations (dinner and brunch :cloud9:) based on this schedule so I hope it's correct.

One more question for you. Do you by any chance have a cabin number yet for the FE?

Congrats!!! We are also going to Las Caletas. The kids wanted to do the dolphin swim in Cabo (parents can go in for free, unlike the dolphin swim in PV). I was too late to get Palo for High Tea but we did get brunch and dinner. Yummmm!

Karen

Fun........we will have some fellow OC beach bums there...........:cheer2: I have only heard very very nice things about Las Caletas so I am really looking forward to it.

Your kids will LOVE the dolphin swim......Me, my hubby and my girls all went to Disney Cove in FL earlier this year and we loved it.....it is sooooo much fun.

Woot has a pirate shirt for today (and today only) called "Pie(rate)" which has a pirate in pie chart form. I am too new to be able to post a link and sorry if this is frowned upon to even post something like this.

Definitely for the more geeky among us (that would be me!)

For those not familiar with Woot, they sell only sell one mostly technical item each day and they have a shirt section that does the same thing of one shirt each day. The shirt sells for $10 with free shipping when it goes up for sell. After that, if it's popular it can still be bought later but at a higher price ($15.00 and free shipping).

I have ordered mine. If there are any other geeks among us, I look forwarding to seeing them on the cruise.

Avast ye mateys, the Wonder be sailin' soon!

btw, I am the DH of lostinyonkers. :)

Hackerflu not seen you here before. Welcome. Are you thinking about joining the FE?

I am lostinyonkers' DH. She always wants me to get more involved in the plannin' and excitement leading up to the cruise. I joined to try to start doin' just that. I believe she has already removed us from the FE but I'm still learnin' how everything works around here.

OK now I'm confused as you and yukongirl have posted 2 different sets of information. This was Yukongirl's last week.

Anyone heard a different one.

Sigrid

Maybe the info I received from DCL was for a different itinerary? :confused3

I like Mama crumbcakes list much better. We are doing the Pirate snorkel & sail in PV, so that would have been a whole lot of pirate activities in one day.....

I like this shirt-must be my inner geek talking!

Also liked the powered by bacon tee, it would be perfect for my DS Trevor. He'll be the one leaving the breakfast buffet with a pound of bacon on his plate!

DH OK now I fully understand and yes she has already removed you from the FE list saying that you have a lot going on, which I fully understand. I'll check out your shirt as my DH is an absolute geek too.

Hi all. It looks like we are joining you. I start a new Job on Wednesday so I am hoping they will let me take the time. I was going to tell them right away and let them know it was preplanned and non-refundable , which it is. I was hired through an employment agency so I could not set it up prior. Our last logistics feet will be getting all the grandparents to agree to watch the kids. :worship: to the grandparents! I have half the time covered and will now be working on the in-laws. It will only be me and DH.

This is a belated honeymoon (5 years later) as his employer did not let us take one the year we married. Then we followed the wedding with babies :rolleyes1, who will be staying home. That may sound harsh but this is our 6th cruise in the last three years so the kids won’t be missing too much.

Our last cruise was the MR in Feb. Nice trip but the excursions are not young kid friendly and we really spent our time managing kids. With our onboard discounts, and such, this trip will actually be cheaper than just about anything I could find for even half the time.

We are looking at the Outdoor Adventure in PV, the Buggy Beach & Swim one Cabo day and the Mexican Outback Adventure on another Cabo day. Any one joining us? I hope you all enjoy the FE, but we will not be participating.

I look forward to getting to know you all. :flower3:

Welcome Aboard! I'm Janice and will be sailing with my DS Trevor. We are doing the Mini Jeep in Cabo, would have liked to do the Beach buggy & swim, but I don't drive a manual...in PV we are doing the Pirate sail & snorkel. On the second Cabo day we were planning to wander about on our own.

Janice

Our cruise is definitely not sold out (though last time I checked they weren't allowing rooms with infants... that means there will be tons of babies on board). Many people cancel when their pay in full date is due. We should see a bunch of rooms open up in the next week-ish. Maybe then I will be assigned my GTY room!

Hopefully there will be Palo times and my excursions left by the time I am able to book! Fingers crossed! Quit taking my spots :rotfl:

Ah, I see! A friend was trying to book this cruise to join us, but he has an infant so I bet that's why! I'll let him know to try again when the PIF date comes around! Thanks!

Still lots available for both brunch and Dinner in Palo.....I 've been checking the DCL site daily to see if we've been assigned a room # yet...... I am ready for a hoiday!

Janice

It's driving me nuts that I can't do anything until July 12th!!!!!!!!

Do you know when I will get my GTY assignment?

We tried to do the repo cruise but ran into the same problem. So now we are on the MR!!!

Janice: Thank you for putting my mind at ease!!! This is my first Disney cruise and I am freaking out about getting into Palo. I have heard so many amazing things. Only 10 more days until it's my turn! I know that sometimes if you call you can get your room assignment even though it isn't posted on the website. I called yesterday to add more OBC and figured while I was on the phone I would ask. No go for me yet. As much as it kills me, it adds to the excitement to have something else to look forward to before the trip. I actually switched from an assigned cabin to a GTY mostly for the fun of it. I enjoy torturing myself. :rotfl2:

kbushue: Curiosity is getting the better of me... I see your avatar is a photo of you on the news but the writing is too small to read. Do you mind sharing the story? (You aren't in an orange jumpsuit so I assume it is something fun!)

Dont know if u first time cruisers know this but once u board the ship u can head straight over to WaveBands and book Palo dining reservations there. I would suggest making any available Palo dining reservation online but should u not get the time or day you wanted know that it is possible to change or even add once on board the ship.... Having said this know that a line forms at Wavebands the second the ship starts boarding.... People will be there trying to get dining experiences they were not able to get online and people will also be there trying to get more then one Palo dining.
It's not a hard process at all.... Just another line to wait in..... It's a fun way to make friends... By the time u r at the front of the line u will more then likely know the person to your front and back a lil better.
Good Luck!!

Sure Super*Mum!

I moved to LA in 2009, and met my DF. After dating for a little over a year, he proposed to me in the piazza between DL and DCA. We are getting eloping on the MR cruise in September. I had always loved a dress I saw years ago in a Bridal magazine, and I found a sample of the exact dress on eBay and bought it for $100. But then we decided to elope on the cruise line, and my dream dress no longer fit the destination. And since my Mother and Sister still live back home in IL, I was at a loss of what to choose.

I am an loyal KTLA viewer every morning before work, and always watched their Stranger Change Her makeovers on Fridays. So, when they announced they wanted to do Bridal makeovers, I figured it couldn't hurt to apply. They asked for brides that had already purchased a dress, but had changed their minds about it. It was totally for me! So I filled out the application, and 3 hours after I emailed it in, I got a call from the show's host, Crystal. She asked me to email her a couple pictures, so I did, and then she called back and said we were on for taping that Friday (This was Tuesday.)

I couldn't believe it! I had never won anything like that before! So I met everyone at The Grove, where I had to wear my old dress in the square in front of Nordstrom. I listened to my iPod as the hostess Crystal and the show's producer hit passersby up for makeover ideas and to fill out a survey on changes they suggest. After roasting in the sun for an hour in a super hot beaded tulle gown, we took a lunch break and met up again at local designer Joanna August's house in Beverly Hills. She has her studio set up in her guest house. I tried on lots of very airy and informal gowns, and they picked one they wanted me to wear for the show reveal on KTLA. Then, I treated to a hair appt. and makeup at Gavert Atelier in Beverly Hills. They were fantastic and ended the day perfectly! We have to have the Live Reveal on KTLA the following Friday morning.

If I wanted the dress on the show, I had to purchase it because it was a brand new designer dress, and I couldn't afford the 3K tag, so Joanna the designer gave me the dress I picked from her collection from last season. Here it is!
