I am so jealous, and nervous, as this is our first cruise we can't book until July 12 and I only have first choices no back up plans. I better take another look over the next couple of days just in case.

I would love to participate but as of now please remove us from the FE list. This is going to be my sister and her families first cruise as well as my friends families first cruise soooooo I think I will be a bit busy with all that. Should anything change I know there is a deadline and I will let you know.......

As for you being worried about port adventures.....try not to stress toooo much earlier in the year when we did the Disney Panama Cruise my familiy and I did the resort getaway in PV and that was nice. We would do it again but we want to try something different this time around...........
Disney is really good about picking good port adventures.....Im sure no matter what you book you will have a blast!!!!

Thanks!!!!

OK I have removed you off the list. As you know the deadline is August 27 so if you change your mind just let me know. I'm finding out how much there is to get to understand as I don't want to miss out on a thing.

Here's a question though. Pirate night. What do you, as a Mum, tend to wear. I'm getting a pirates costume sorted for my daughter, I'm going to do a pirate t-shirt, eye patch and hat for my husband (that's what he asked for), but I've got no idea what to do for myself. Any hints or tips?

There are quite a bit of threads out there all about Pirate Night, but to sum it up....you really get into it as much or as little as you chose to.

Personally my husband and I do not dress up at all and as for my girls the most they have gotten into is on our past cruises they wear a Mickey mouse pirate hat that has a stripped red and white bandana and a pierced Mickey ear. This cruise may be a bit different though, I think my girls may want to get dressed up this time but we will see.

On the other hand some people go ALLLLLLL out. I mean the women truely look like Wenches and the men are as decked out to the 9's, big pirate boots, pants, belt, eye patch and a few have their very own parate...... seriously as you make your way to the photo ops areas that they have set up for the evening you may start to wonder if the ship was taken over by Jack Sparrow and his crew....LOL

It is definitley a memorable evening that is for sure. I think my favorite part of the whole night is the Pirate party out on deck 9, lots of dancing, entertainment and then FIREWORKS!!!!!!!

Very fun for sure!!!!

So don't be afraid to go all out because if there is one thing I know for sure, if you do decide to go all out you will be in good and plenty company.......pirate:pirate:

We have cruised DCL three times and have dressed in various stages of "pirate attire." We have just worn t-shirts and bandanas and we have worn full-fledged pirate costumes. It is a fun time no matter what you choose. My kids have always been in full costume - but I'm not sure what we are doing this year, as they have outgrown their costumes and I'm not sure I'm up to making new ones. Here is a picture from our last DCL cruise on the Magic in 2009. (If I can get it to upload)

We, too, did pirate night in full costume. It was easier when we were up north as we could just ship our box of costumes (hats and boots and all!) to the resort and/or ship. This time around we will be going low key, but still planning on something piratey. The hats ARE staying home!!!

Thanks for all the hints and tips about pirate night. I've decided we're basically going to do costumes and then that sorts out this year's halloween costumes too although my husband is just going to go with a mickey pirate t-shirt but has asked for a hat and eye patch to go with it.

FWIW, I spoke with someone from DCL yesterday and she said that the itinerary for our cruise is as follows:

Day 1 Los Angeles Casual
Day 2 At Sea Formal Night - (Monday)
Day 3 At Sea Casual (Tuesday)
Day 4 Puerta Vallarta (7:30 - 7:00) Casual (Wednesday)
Day 5 Cabo San Lucas 11:15 - 7:00 PM Pirate Night (Thursday)
Day 6 Cabo San Lucas 7:15 - 1:30 Semi-Formal - (Friday)
Day 7 At Sea Casual (Saturday)

Our travel agent went on this cruise in the spring and her personal navigators matched the schedule that DCL gave me yesterday. We made our Palo reservations (dinner and brunch :cloud9:) based on this schedule so I hope it's correct.

Rumor has it our cruise is sold out! How exciting is that!!! A completely full boat of Disney geeks to cruise with!

Congrats!!! We are also going to Las Caletas. The kids wanted to do the dolphin swim in Cabo (parents can go in for free, unlike the dolphin swim in PV). I was too late to get Palo for High Tea but we did get brunch and dinner. Yummmm!

Hi again

cant believe we are nearly at 70 sleeps til we fly out ....winter here at the moment so dreaming of warm breezes and cool drinks.:cool1:

booked our brunch and excursions...missed out on high tea, but we are having that at the Grand Floridian at WDW the week before so never mind.

can we please be taken of FF list, as works crazy and have no time to get creative...but may bring little aussie bits and pieces over for those we bump into:banana:

we are doing:
discover scuba,
snorkle &
sea lion excursion's.....cant wait

interesting its a full ship.....will that make it less enjoyable????

counting down

OK now I'm confused as you and yukongirl have posted 2 different sets of information. This was Yukongirl's last week.
