Wow! You people are just absolutely nuts! Excellent dress choice for Didi! That is one of our newest designs from the J.D. Kansas Dress Co. For some reason though, when it came time for the photo shoot, our model ran screaming out the door and wouldn't do the photo. So we had to lay the dress on the floor in order to get the photo for Didi. Don't fret, Didi, we laid down some plastic on the carpet first so it wouldn't get dirty. Models these days!!!!!! I just don't know what has gotten into them! That is the second time this week we've lost one! I guess Julie and I are going to have to start modeling our own designs.

Why in the world are Didi and Marsha posting so early on a Sat. morning? Doesn't anyone ever sleep around here?

Thanks for the info on your family, Didi. Very interesting. I'm glad to know two things: If the food is bad on the ship, you can step right up to the kitchen and feed us happily. And the second thing good to know is if the ship starts sinking in the middle of no where, your DH can swim all the way to civilization and bring boats back to save us. I feel much better now! He doesn't mind a few sharks, now does he?

OK so we are on the 24th cruise also....wow can anyone give me any helpful hints on how to read all these post....giev me the lowdown and the updates!
We are a party of 4
Myself Keri, my hubby Cliff and our 2 kids Matthew 10 and Abbey who just turned 3 (this is our first Disney Cruise as we wanted to wait for Abbey to turn 3. We live in tampa so are at Disney all the time. We booked in April of 05 cat 8 room 5018 just logged in on Disney and see we have room 7106...i don't know how this works and how we got it but I am thrilled to say the least! but we are just excited to be going.....

Howdy, Keri! Welcome to our crazy group. We are glad to have you! Most often when we have a new person post, they only post once. So prove me wrong and keep posting! We love it!
Our group consists of DH, me, DS11, DD8 and we are traveling with my SIL, DD9, and DS4. I have no helpful hints on reading all of these posts. Good luck. Some of them are pretty funny. Are you just driving to the port on Sat? Or will you be staying closer to port in hotel?

Dennis- As popular as our dress line has been, I wouldn't be surprised if we are selling stocks soon. We just never imagined how it would take off so quickly. I think it is because of our keen eyes for fashion.

We are going to drive to the port on Friday after we pick our son up from school....we are staying at the Radisson friday night and are on the first shuttle Saturday morning....We are so excited!! Juat keeping my fingers crossed that the weather will be good!!

The rest of us haven't yet at this point. I can't remember who is staying where you are the night before. We are staying at Ron Jon's. Do you already have your formal dress attire? If you read the last ten pages or so of this thread, you will notice Julie and I have been picking out attire. Let us know if you need us to pick one out for you! How hot is it in Tampa? I can't imagine! Were you affected by the hurricane?

OH gosh i have not even started to think about it! LOL...Do most people get really dressed up for formal night.....i hate to say it but we are a very casual family.....But i am sure i will figure it out...i know the dress code has really changed so i guess i better get on it....

IT IS HOT DOWN HERE!!! WHEN YOU WALK outside it hits you!! We got rain yesterday for a bit but that is so normal here....we look for rain everyday!

A summary of our thread:
I was actually just kind of kidding about the formal night wear. We've recently had some posts where we were picking out really ugly dresses as a joke! You may wear whatever you would like. It sounds like some of us will be dressy, and others not so much.
We have linked our dinner reservations together as a group if you are interested. Well at least the late seaters are linked. Do you have early dining or late dining? If you are late, you have the option to be linked with us if you wish. It just means we will be sitting near each other in the dining area so we feel like we aren't alone on the ship. Let us know if you are interested!
Are you doing any excursions on Grand Cayman? Our group is also linked together to do stingray city. There is an early 3 hour group going, and a later 2 hour group going. We can link up if interested. If you want details let us know.
Some of us are making magnetic door signs to stick on your cabin door. It would just say your name or pics or whatever. If you want one made, I would just have you PM me some information.
We are having an informal meeting on the ship the first afternoon just to say howdy. It sounds like it will be at Parrot Cay restaurant after we board.
That is as much summarizing as I can think of for now!

Hi All,

This is Kathy saying 'Hello'! Of course, David is typing for me. I can't stand the little laptop keyboard. I'm very happy to allow my DH to be the technical one in the family. But I think our boys are going to overtake him very shorty!!! Especially DS12!!!

I've missed a bunch of pages but David has brow beaten me into getting somewhat caught up. Man I just love that dress with the open stomach!

You guys are quite a bunch of characters!! I'm beginning to feel left out. David has been sharing all the juicy comments and it's been very entertaining. I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you. To quote a few people on the board, "IS IT TIME TO GO YET!!!"

I've been trying to come up with 5 things. Hmm...
1) I recently turned 40. Did you know that yet? Oh well.
2) Met David in college, 2 weeks in, I received a BA in Economics & a husband. We've been together ever since, 22+ years.
3) You might know my one of a kind, unique, wierd, kind, funny, messy sister - DiDi.
4) I've been dealing with a complex neurologic condition for over 4 years now. Very confusing, but I still manage to live, love, laugh & enjoy my family. To quote Toby Kieth: "I ain't as good as I once was" Ok, happier item now...
5) I can be quite the salesperson, depends on the item. I have been told I can sell Ice to an Eskimo. I went right into sales after college, great use of my Economics degree, I know. But I did great at it. I just love talking to people. David says I did so well because I geniunly care about everybody I meet. But what does he know.

That's it for now. I've got to go back to page 117 and read some more after this load of laundy.

We have the late night seating also...sure link us with you! i am hoping we get a table for 4....so we can enjoy family time together.....we requested it so i guess we will see what happens....i have not booked anything....this group is amazing and so on top of things.....i think we may book the cozemel XCARET ?? We went on our homeymoon 11 years ago and loved it! So we are thinking of that...but it is so far and all day...so i am not sure yet...we have a 3 year old to think about? is this your first cruise....let me know what to email you for a door magnet! thanks for catching me up!

Actually if you want to be at a table by yourself, you better not hook up with us. Because I don't think it is a guarantee to be by yourself. You will have to ask Dennis (poweralaska) because he is the one who organized this dining thing. Dennis- can she request only a table of 4 near us? I know I had requested to be with the family we are traveling with, and he said that wasn't necessarily a guarantee.

David- wow you have been working hard. What are the pictures on the shirt? Is it a lion? I can' t really tell.

Some of the group had a previous discussion about Xcaret and also had concerns on the timing with a child. It seems like that was Ingrid. Maybe someone will chime in and give you thoughts. If you did it for your honeymoon though, I think you would have a fabulous time.

Hi Kwork11..and welcome to the wacky world of Barney's Brood!

We had considered Xcaret at one time. I've never been there before but heard wonderful things about it. The reason I decided against it is bringing our DD6 with us. It's about a 1.5 hour boat ride there, and then spending the whole day there, and 1.5 hours back. If it was just DH and myself, I would go, but we would rather be somewhere that if we decided we had enough, or DD got tired, it's not too far to travel back to the ship.

I would certainly depend on your 3 year old's stamina. As for our DD, she can be happy as a lark one minute and then grumpy and very uncooperative the next. And I would rather be somewhere where it's a short ride back when that happens!

You and Deanna have such style and taste. I scared Barney, I'm snorking as I'm laughing. It hurts, it really hurts. I can't wait till I put it on with my fishnet stockings, those long black gloves and I really need my feather fan. I'll get my hair done just right, I'll get the beehive do!! I can't wait to do the Can Can while cooking for all my dear friends on the cruise. I think, I'll cook something very Parisian, or how about some Bouillabaisse with Rouille and Sourdough Croutons? Bill wants to pick up a TUX, that Jim Carey wore in Dumb and Dumber. Won't we be the envy of all!!!

Deanna, I see that your financial future with Julie in this venture will take off just like your models!!! I just don't understand why they don't want to wear those lovely designs. I saw the pics, you and Julie the hot Mama's would do just fine modelling!!!

I'll have to get back later on, like tomorrow morning. If you must know, I do sleep, I just can't sleep late. Oh look the humingbird is back. Right now I must go consume much wine with friends tonight.

I must go shower now, the beach was awesome. For those who know NE, the turn has happened. No longer is the hot humid weather here, It's eighty around here with a cool breeze. Fall is around the corner, my favorite season. I will definately miss the Summer, it is so short and sweet.

Ingrid thank you for the info...i think we are going to skip Xcaret...our 10 year old son would LOVE it....but I don't think our 3 year old daughter can hang all day....and i could not leave her on board that long in the club...so i guess i will talk to the family and see what they want to do.

hanging out on the boat is fine with me....

So has anyone started packing yet? i think i am going to throw the luggage on the floor and just start a little at a time...i really need to get a list going....

my daughter can not wait to go....she keeps saying when is the boat coming back from the ocean...
