Sept 2009

I am really yearning to do some planning, but without park hours and ADRs not available until 90 days, there's just not that much to do!
As a major planner - I really miss that 180-day ADR window.:sad1:

oh my gosh! I am not alone!:dance3:

I hope the original OP doesn't mind. Just trying to help as many DIS'ers as I can :)

I manage several stroller swaps over on the budget board. I thought I would extend an invitation to you to join the swap. A stroller swap is a group of DISers who will be staying at WDW and would like to use a stroller without paying $31/day for a WDW stroller. A stroller is purchased and passed from one vacationing DISer to the next on the list.

I have not posted here for a while, planning has come to a standstill for now, I need park hours etc to go further. I have been reviewing touring plans from last trip to remember what I want to do different this trip. I think that I will start DS autograph book, I will post a link to the one I saw here on the Dis that I am going to try. WHat are you all up to in terms of planning?

I hear ya!

My planning is at a standstill too. I am also just waiting for park hours to decide ADRs. I don't think we are getting park hoppers this year, so I really need to wait.

This is what I have been doing.

I bought 3 different guide books on Disney, and I have been reading them.

I have been reading a lot on here about Epcot. We have gone to Disney for many years, but last year was the first year we actually went to Epcot.

I have been reading and writing things down about MNSSHP, because we have never been to one, and I want to go to one on this trip.

I also have printed out the menus from all the restaurants we want to eat at. We have fun reading them, and thinking about what we might want to try or what we tried before and didn't like. My two oldest DS are both over 10, so they get to decide off the adult menu, and they are loving it.

I am also making a list of all the snacks we want to try. This might sound silly, but last year there were things we wanted to try, like a Dole Whip, but I didn't know where to get one. So, now I have this on my list, and exactly where to get it. There are lots of things we want to try as far as snacks and drinks go.

I also bought a binder to put all my lists and papers in. I bought some Disney stickers, and I decorated the front. I want to make it really nice. Last year I just had a notebook with things scribbled everywhere. I want to be more organized this year. I found a thread on here just about binders, and what others have put in theirs.

So I'm doing a lot in my planning. :thumbsup2

I thought for sure this thread would be "hoppin" today - with all the Free Dining trips coming onboard!?!?:yay:

Same here - No Park Hoppers, so we really need those Park Hours!:cheer2:

I have been reading a lot on here about Epcot. We have gone to Disney for many years, but last year was the first year we actually went to Epcot.

Although we always go to EPCOT, this year we are determined to spend much more time there. My 3 DS (ages 11, 8 & 8) are so excited about the new Kim Possible WS Adventures!! Finally something to get the kids engaged in the World Showcase!:woohoo:

Yep - we've been doing this too! We're making a concentrated effort to try restaurants that we've never been to, rather than just our "regulars"! For instance, we're planning on Boma, The Wave, and T-Rex.:thumbsup2

Great Planners think alike!!! ;) I have a snack list going too. There was a great thread a while back that specifically talked about "must-have" snacks. Did you see it?

I am planning a trip for Sept 28-Oct 3, 2009 at either Caribeen beach resort or AKL. Im just waiting Monday to roll around so we can get FD. This will be my, DH and DD (age 3) first trip, so I really have no idea what to plan and book ahead. Welcome annakate27! :welcome:

You picked a great time of year for your 1st trip to Disney.:thumbsup2
(Well - then again - ANYTIME of year is great for a trip to Disney!;))

Congrats on Free Dining too! Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) for most table-service restaurants can be booked at 90 days from your check-in date. Therefore, be sure to mark June 30th on your calendar!

There are so many restaurants to choose from. Be sure to check out the Dining Review section here on the DIS, and you can also see most of the menus here: http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm

Good Luck with your planning and feel free to ask any questions you may have!:flower3:

Hi,
My name is Ana. Hubby and I have 3 kids, (DS 15, DS14, and DD11) My family and I are going for Homeschool Days (Sept 19-26) and Free Dining. We go at this time of year often, but this is my first time getting Free dining. We usued to own DVC, so we are used to a one bedroom villa, but I am so happy we booked POR. We had kind of trying year (hubby laid off 2 months, family business burnt to the ground, getting house ready to sell and separated from hubby who now works in DC) I didn't expect to go because of finances, but with event tickets, value season pricing and free food, even my hubby can see it is a great deal. God is so good !

I am excited !!!! Can you tell ???

I haven't been paying attention to the Disney happenings lately. But I am looking foward to a lot of planning to get my mind off of being separated from my hubby.

My travel agent just booked us this morning for Sept. 16 - 20 at POP w/free dining :cool1:

I will be celebrating my birthday also while I am there. I can't wait :woohoo:

Hi fellow Sept travellers :) I just booked this morning, 9/23-9/27 at POR, finally convinced DH a trip was due :cheer2:
