Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

SG,
I listen to the same financial people you do. Thank goodness I started listening to them years ago and following what they said because we are not in a mess now. Now the hope is the companies that owe us stay in business and so do we.

Capital one visa has been increasing interest rates lately and they are going all variable rates plus a certain percent no more fixed rates balance or not.

Citimortgage one of the bailout companies is playing games as well so we are refinancing our mortgage with a local bank at a the lowest interest rates I've ever seen.

Hey Bonz it's nice to have you back. Hope you, the boys, and KB had a blast.

Hi Rie I have been wondering if things were still ok with your DH job. It's good to hear from you.

Well another weekend is here and we are expecting 6-8 inches of snow. Here I thought it was spring already and got my hair cut in anticipation of the warmer weather. I can not wait till June.

Ang

Now I know your only sad because there will be no snow for you. lol

You got that right !!!! :lmao:

Ok time to make some Disney Dollars... Have a great weekend !!!

Hi... Ho..Hi...Ho.. off to work I go...... wait a mminute .. whoa re you calling a H0 ????? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Ang, I was living like this way back before SO or DR. Comes from growing up dirt poor in a large family. Dad was a hard worker but often out of work and always low paid. I have a good healthy fear of being poor. Poor, meaning not having the basics or being able to pay my bills. This stuff is hitting everyone though. We have lost a significant part of our income/interest and will lose more in September. Gotta go to Disney while we can!:cool1: I hope your debtors are able to pay also. I want you to go with me.

Ants, I am sure that Ang will gladly share her precipitation with you. She is a very generous soul. I believe YOU were the one ho, hoing around the place. Just how many Disney Dollars are you trying to gather? :rotfl:

Yardwork and some more paperwork today. Have to send for the $100 refund on the hot water heater. We do not have a plumber in our tiny town and so I called upon the H&A/C folk who charged me $190 to install something that I have installed myself in the past. (that goes to show how much talent and time it takes) I have told my grandson to start studying plumbing immediately. He promised me that he would not charge me anything to install my next hot water heater. Since the boy currently has only $32 in the bank I doubt that I will get any free services anytime soon. :rolleyes1

My youngest dgs was way up by Michigan last night as he had a basketball game. They lose all their away games. My dgs is good but not good enough to play with the big boys. Waste of time, money and his talent IMO but I am not saying anything, not that it would do any good. He used to love to learn. No more. I have not seen nor talked to him in weeks. He is too busy with his sports. I worry that he will come down sick cause he sure does not get any sleep. I am grandma, thus I always worry.

Hope Ang's snow melts soon and everyone else is having a sunny day. Snow showers might come this way tomorrow but I have plenty of inside work to do.

SG

enough for another trip :lmao:

Timmy and Linda you are both crazy. lol

Timmy you get to work already you have what 4 trips left to take this year? That's a lot of Ho hoing you need to do. Let's not forget your hidden dream of being a pole dancer. You can make good tips doing that.

Linda,
I learned how to manage money the hard way. DH got us into a financial mess at one point that he didn't bother to tell me about till it was too late. Guess who had to figure out how to get us out of it? That is when I started reading the financial books and listening to them when they were on TV. Took a long time to fix that mess but we did.
I am now teaching William how to be financially responsible and hope it sticks. Wish I learned when I was growing up.

These are hard times and I am sad to hear they are hitting you this year too. I have a feeling this will be the year that makes or breaks lots of companies and people. We are not exempt either. I figure that is why the credit card companies are doing what they are doing. They want to try to collect as much as they can now, by whatever methods they can, and to minimize what they give out or the credit card companies will be asking for money from the government too. That's my opinion on it anyway.

Melissa,
The magnets are Mickey mom's club magnets sent to the people who sent answered the questions trying to get on the panel but lost. It's the ****ie prize.

I can clean... I can food shop.. but I snore.. LOL that might be the deal breaker... :lmao:

and in June if I move in with you and Will.. I will bring my own Pole... hahahaha

Timmie, you are wise. Those cobblestone streets in your town would be mighty hard on a gal, especially if wearing high heels. I was wondering, could you not practice your pole dancing with the lamposts? Multi tasking, huh?

Ang, I just love it when Tom starts in how he had to work past 65 (3 weeks and that was because that was the earliest he could retire) all because of being married to me and us having kids to support. Heck, the man would still be working and living in a dive somewhere (now that his parents are dead and can no longer put a roof over his head). I had more money than he when we married and that was not saying a whole lot. I will give him credit for figuring out somewhere along the line that I was better with money than he. He probably still has a footprint from me 'making' him go to work. :rotfl: It is really bad when both people in a relationship are bad with money. Someone has to be good enough to save up for the important things like DW. :wizard:

PS, I got starred out on that certain word too. From now on refer to such a prize as the "Female Pectoral" prize. It is easy to trick a computer, they are so literal and I am so silly.

Long day of baseball for us today...opening day festivities, had to be at the fields @8am and left @3pm...I think I am already sick of baseball

Bonz,
I take it Timmy won't be a good influence on you. lol

Timmy,
Yes, Ms. Linda was a recipient of that lovely photo that I took of you.

Linda,
I have learned a man has to feel he provides a decent living for his family and if we don't remind them of that from time to time they will make sure to remind us. lol

Kristin,
I have seen reports of people just recieving their magnet today. I promise to send you mine if yours does not come soon. Just PM me your address.

Baseball was soooo boring. My DS had a very accurate pitch and great catching skills when he was younger. We put him in baseball but pitching and hitting were the only things he enjoyed. When out in the field he was a grass picker and any ball that came near him would go right past him without him ever having a clue. He had no interest in baseball after that one season and I was a happy mother because baseball bored me to death. Wish we had an ice rink near us because I would have put him in hockey which is a sport I enjoy.

stopped by at Pathmark... to get some stuff for spaghettie that will be cook in the crok pot :lmao: some eggs and some veggies... oreo was on sale for $1.99 but i resisted...

Timmie, is it not frustrating when really bad things, that we love, are on sale? I think it is the devil at work myself. :rotfl: Glad you are done earning your Disney Dollars. BTW, I am saving that picture for when I fall short of having enough money to go to DW and need to blackmail, er, I mean entice someone into helping me out. Oops! Would not work with you. Bet you have said picture up on your blog. BTW, I dropped by one day when I was cleaning out my email files. :)

Ang, what works with a normal man would not work with Tom. I just kept reminding him that he had to live on what he earned and since I was not 'allowed' to work outside the home he had to do it. He did nothing else, nothing. I noted that his allergy to overtime waned when it was near vacation or Christmas time. Otherwise he had his weekends off. I learned to stretch a dollar every which way and still do. He felt that a woman who worked and had her own money might well leave. I did not understand the rationale when I was younger but do now. He was right. Sports bore me. The players do not though.

Diva K, it seems that your quest for that magnet is a bust. Hopefully it will come knockers at your door soon. The girls need magnets to overcome the gravitational pull that time and age causes. Please keep us abreast of the situation. :lmao::laughing::rotfl:

Your silly friend, SG

You guys are cracking me up.:rotfl:

I'm trying to get Jacob involved in something. He doesn't want to do anything. He was trying cartwheels the other night, so I showed him Gymnastics on youtube, nope doesn't want to do it. Guess I will just make some appointments and see if anyone can get him interested in anything. He played soccer back in Texas for five years. Wasn't very good, but he had been with the same group of boys for 8 seasons. I keep asking about soccer, but he doesn't want to play.:sad2: He likes to hit balls, but otherwise no interest in baseball. Offered drum lessons, he wants to do his own thing.

You gals may get a kick out of this. Yesterday he goes out to play with the neighbor. They have been playing in our garage building a fort with all the stuff in there. I had told him one kid was ok, but the new kids in the neighborhood were younger and we don't want them getting hurt in there. So guess what he does. He hauls my big wooden tree stand, the trash can, his skateboard ramps, my gift wrapping containers, and the kitchen sink (ok, not the kitchen sink) over to the neighbors back yard. I found him all by himself back there playing. I had to explain that even though they don't have fences, he needs to pretend there is one and not go back there unless they are there. Oh, and don't carry our stuff back there!:headache:

Oh, and on a Disney note. TL was wonderful. It was really cold though when we first got there at 11:00. I thought we would be heading home, but it finally started to warm a little. Even around 2:00 it was only maybe a 10 minute wait for the tube slides, if that long.

Have any of you ever been to Cypress Gardens? I know, its not Disney.

JM, your boy tickles me. Sounds as if he has a great imagination and prefers non structured play. Nothing wrong with that. Toys and programs that are devoid of any user input wear out fast. Thinking up your own games and activities takes brain power and will do much good, as long as there is enough social action also. I have always told any children in my life that imagination is the best 'toy' there is. I fear that the fun of sports is gone nowadays. Kids used to get together and have pick up games and have a good time, now it is all scheduled fun with the emphasis on winning rather than learning or having fun. Maybe a nice pile of 'stuff' might be what he needs. Bill Gates started out that way ya know. :rotfl: I used to buy old appliances and such for my boy to play with when he was young. Just would not let him plug them in after he worked on them without my supervision.

I went to Cypress Gardens on a honeymoon once. Please do not go by my experiences. YOU might have a good time. :wizard:

SG

Melissa,

We went to Cypress gardens back about 13 years ago or so and I really liked it. It's no Disney but it was a lot of fun.

What I did with William is signed him up for everything when he was younger pre 2nd grade. He really was not a sport minded child but I wanted the social interaction for him and the exercise. I told him to pick his favorite thing and he wanted swim team but that was not available till an older age so he chose soccer. He enjoyed it but wanted everyone else to have the glory so nobody would look at him. Do you know how frustrating it can be when you have a child who is good at a sport but when he has a chance to make a goal passes it to someone else to take the glory every time. lol I even coached and assisted.

Now that he is in middle school I left the choice up to him but he had to pick two school groups and join them. He chose chorus (his favorite) and builders club which is a middle school version of Kiwanis club. No sports, but he wants to join swim team this summer. Wait till he finds out they practice in the cold mornings in 60 degree temperatures. lol

I was told kids who are not so good at sports or have a hard are given a hard time by the players are best doing sports where it is not so much a team effort like swimming, karate, golf, bowling etc. I put Will in karate when he was younger but had to take him out because when they put him up to spar with the girls he absolutly refused to touch them so they karate chopped and kicked the poop out of him. lol That was another bad spot with soccer as he refused to steal the ball from the girls. I kept telling him that it was not true that girls are made of suger and spice and everything nice and they could take it just like the boys but he never did believe me.
