Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

maybe if you call my name really loud on the 1st drop I might hear yah!!! pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...LOL:crazy:

You know I will! "Timmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!"

TB, congratulations on the weight loss. I know how hard it is. Losing it is the easy part, keeping it off is the hardest. I find myself daydreaming about my December trip to DW as I have figured out that I can do my last weigh in before I leave and not weigh in again until the first of the year. That is a sure way to gain back every ounce I will have managed to lose the rest of the year though. I know, I nearly did that this past year. I can buy memory, it is finding the correct slot to insert it in that is the problem. :lmao: Enjoy your trip, your problems will still be there when you get back and by then you may have figured out a way out of them. At least you will be in a better frame of mind to deal.

I have to reload my Tracfone today, mop the kitchen floor, make dvd's and write a dozen or so letters and cards to folks before I go to the CC. I worn out already. ;)

SG

Jeez, woman, I got worn out just reading your to do list! Yeah, the keeping it off is the really crummy part. But I'm still amazed how easy the losing was on this low-carb thing. I told dh it's the perfect diet for me because I'm a vegetarian, so there's hardly anything I can eat, lol. I know I've been eating less, but I'm not hungry, and the not craving sweets (much) is a blessing. I also credit my twice a day psyllium habit, but won't go into any detail about that. :rolleyes1 And I fully expect to gain back a chunk of the weight at WDW, but it wouldn't be a good vacation if I didn't, lol!

Timmy, I fell asleep last early night, but looks like you had lots of company - my email was filled with posts from another thread.

Chrissy what happend at the other thread stays at the other thread.. :lmao: the only problem is the only souls who saw me do the Pole was Ang and Will...LOL who also post on this thread :scratchin hmmm not a good combo.... :rotfl2: shoot my secret is out!!!! :headache::grouphug:

:rotfl:Yes, notice how vague I was... "another thread". Now, stop giving away your secrets!!! ;)

Another thread? "Do the pole?" How did I miss out on this??

BRB... today is the Day!!!! I go run to the video store and rent Twillight Zone... watch out Ang!!!

So, what did you think? My dd watched it on her Ipod Friday night, again on dvd with the rest of us on Saturday, then watched the cut with the audio commentary on Sunday. I'm looking forward to reading the books, but I think I'm going to have to wrestle them away from her--she keeps re-reading them! Which thrills her English teacher--they have to log 3 hours of reading a week, and he said once the girls discover Twilight, they don't have any problem surpassing that goal!

Thanks for the advice Timmy! I checked out JoAnn's since they have a big sale right now. I wore the one of the items I have been trying to find jewelry for and picked out some beads. I have to wait until Saturday though when the Visa card rolls over. So I have everything picked out. Can hit the store at 9am, buy my stuff. They have scrapbook paper on sale also so I can pick some of it up and then we are off to TL. The closest Michaels isn't very big, but I will check them out.

This thread has been busy!

TB, sorry to hear about DH's job. Glad you still get to go to WDW. I have another Dis friend that is arriving at the World Friday also.

Well, my poor DH was suppose to be coming home on the 5th, but he may end up staying in DC a little longer.:sad2:We are just waiting to find out.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I forgot to mention that I heard TL opened, but I should have known you'd be on top of that, lol. We're still going to WDW and we leave tomorrow--:dance3:! Probably won't be at TL with you Saturday, but we'll be with you in spirit. Sorry dh is stuck in DC, but it sounds like you have plans to keep busy.

Thanks for the free dining info. I was lucky and got bounce back last year and I am glad I did because the dates were better. Are you going and if so when?

I booked bounceback last September, but booked a second trip this morning (love getting up at 4 am!) because the dates start earlier. I don't know when we'll end up actually going or how long we'll be staying, with dh's job, etc., but we're booked for 8/16-8/30 at POP. Hopefully, we'll be able to avoid missing any school this time.

For anyone else who's interested, free dining is for stays starting 8/16 through 10/3. 3 day min, 14 day max, available for Disney VISA cardholders today (code RYI) and is expected to be released to the general public on Monday.

Have a great Thursday everyone--I'm off to pack!

Kristin,
Did you get your magnet yet? I got mine a couple weeks ago so I am sure yours is on the way.
NOoooo...and Diva Becky got her's too! :sad2: :sad1:

Maybe we'll see you in August (we should have a margarita together! :thumbsup2) We'll be @Pop 8/16-8/22!

Hey gals! Any of you have the Disney Visa card? I was charged a $1 finance charge last month and since I had made a mistake and sent less than the full balance due by mistake, I had sent a second check to cover the error and it got there before the due date, I just chalked it up and paid it. First finance charge I have paid in over 20 some years. I get my bill this month and had a $5 charge and another $1 finance charge and noted that it says 85.16% interest rate on the bottom. :scared1: What is up with this? Did I miss some small print somewhere? I would just cancel the darned card if I were not afraid of missing out on a Disney deal. I earn interest, I do not pay interest. :thumbsup2 Maybe they are just trying to get rid of me? I do not use the card much, I have one that treats me far better. Thanks for any input.

Spent the day bank shopping. There is a very good chance that one of my banks is going to be taken over by the Men in Black very soon. I have been with them for over 30 years and have many good friends who work there or I would have pulled out long ago. One bank I visited had a big sign that they were giving out no money down mortgages and bad credit was okay. I left without talking to anyone. Some people do not learn nor intend to.

Ang, how I would love to join you in June but it is not possible. I know I can keep my lifeboat afloat but I have children who think I am just plain silly and might well need to climb aboard so I have to cover their 'assets'. :rolleyes1 Please tell Will that I will miss him, maybe. :dance3:

Diva K, if you have not received the ****y prize possibly they are waiting to tell you that you done won something bigger? I hope, I hope. :cheer2:

Timmie, my daughter will not even invite me to her home because she 'thinks' that I would think ill of her housekeeping and such. She is wrong. If I were to go and pick anything up, even if it were a piece of real trash, she would freak. You are nice. Your mom meant well and you know that. You are even going to let her come back too.

TB, I love the low carb diet because there are so many things that I can eat. Makes it easy to eat out as well. I pick buffets where I can fix my own plate. I had an omelet for lunch. Wasa bread is my secret weapon. Tastes like crunchy cardboard but is mighty good with some cheese on top. :yay: I used to work at The Pole,. does that count? :confused3

JM, I have no talents, especially dealing with any of the arts. Are you going to post some pictures of your jewelry? There is a lady here who makes stuff and sells quite a lot of it. I like her stuff but all her earrings are pierced and I have enough holes in my head.

M&N, you are all on another thread and I am not invited? (sniffing my armpits to see if that is the reason) :faint: Passed out, woke up and wrote down antiperspirant on my grocery list.

SG

I started the process of going back to school today. :thumbsup2 I went to unemployment and signed up. I need to go to some kind of class next Thursday, which I guess is the first step.

The thought of going back to college terrifies me! :scared1:

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Wic

WIC, if it helps any, just think of how the teachers, who might be a tad bit younger than you, feel when confronted by someone with life experiences? Just take it a step at a time and I bet you will find yourself enjoying yourself. Will you have your husband and child sign your report card? :cool1:

Did I miss what you were planning to go back to school for?

I'm thinking that the $1 finance charge (which I guess is the minimum charge) amounts to 85.16% of the remaining balance that was on your card. We have this Visa also and I had to go check my last statement after this. We had our first finance charge last month. Just got stupid, so now we are pushing to get it paid off. I did goof and withdraw cash with it once, just grabbed the wrong card. That won't happen again.

I don't feel I have any real talent, but so far I am enjoying scrapbooking, not as nice as some as I have seen, but they are decent, and my table came out pretty good, so why not try the jewelry making.

Wic!!! Great... if I can the lottery I will be a forever student... well nothing serious courses though if I do win the lottery... My co worker quit on us 2 years ago and now she just opened her own hair shop and on the side she do fashion design...

Good luck with your choices... what about dental hygene... they have the 2 year program and when finish you can have your own hours when hired... or radiology.. those are the 2 yrs courses that alot of our volunteer have been leaning towards to..

Week is almost finish :faint: thank God... and I am finally getting a day off on Sunday... and guess what ??!! it is :umbrella: raining :sad1:

I plan on having Kellie help me with my homework, I think she owes me after all the projects I've helped her with lately! :rotfl2: I'll ask my mom to sign my report cards, that way she won't remember what she's seen on it anyways...she's got chemo-brain big time!

I'm leaning towards radiology...I think!

That's what I'm worried about, having teachers that are younger than me...the last time I went to college was right out of high school, the professors were all OLDER than me. :)

Hey Timmy,There's actually a 4 year waiting list for the dental hygenist college programs here.

I'm leaning towards radiology or my second choice would be phelbotomy.

I need to get the ball rolling though, so hopefully next Thursday's class will point me in the right direction.

So my husband tells me over the weekend seeing that I'm not employed, that we will just get season passes to Six Flags here in Massachusetts :scared1:, I can handle that place for like 4 hours and I'm more than done with it. Why on earth would I want to get a season pass??? I'm going to have Kellie start pulling a guilt trip on him over not going to Disney this year. I've got my severance package...we can use some of that money to go back to Disney....Six Flags, give me a break! :headache: :scared:

eekk with the wait... I was supposed on for DH here this past Sept. 08 but got lazy... and Both Radiology and DH are in high demand here with sign on bonuses starting at $3000!!! Phlebotomy will be a breeze for you... alot of bending though... so have to make sure the "back" is good... also the health hazard of the job is when you encounter combative patients which seldom happen esp'ly if you make sure the nurse or cna assist you... never tackle it by yourself!!!

Arent you supposed to go at the end of Sept 09??? tell DH that it is wise to just do WDW than buy a season pass for 6 flags... in the long run you will be saving in Gas = season pass gotta go every weekend if possible so it will not be a waste... and can cause stress... why ?? well you have season pass... what is it doing in the cabinet.. so then you would be planning to go.. but then there are chores so you have to put it off.. Do Disney.. one time deal... done and over with!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

WIC, I think you have some wise choices there. I have also read that being a pharmacist's assistant pays well and you do not have to do years of training. If I were younger I would go for that one. I am nearsighted and detail oriented. :lmao: I bet Kellie will be able to help you with your homework. Did you like school back in the day? That might make a bit of a difference but then many who did not then do now. I would vote for a long Disney vacation over many Six Flags visits myself.

Timmie, I love mango flavor too, just straight, on the rocks without alcohol. If everyone in my family is homeless I am rooting for my one bil and his wife to move in here. He is very nervous and copes by cleaning. :dance3:

JM, I have no balances on any of my credit cards. The only reason I use them is for the cash back bonuses and since the Disney card does not give me much I seldom use. I use it for refilling my prescriptions and this month I had a $5 charge and then the $1 fee. I want to keep the card in case of FD in December though. I do not give a hang about my FICO score as I am not wanting to borrow any money but it also affects what you pay for insurance and such. Where is Suze Orman when you need her?;)

M&N, hope you guys are having a good morning and you have the cereal all cleaned up from the floor. :cutie:

Hi Everyone I hope everyone has a great weekend.

TB,
Bummer, I won't get to see you in October. I am however glad that it looks like you and Kristin will be there at the same time. DS goes back to school 8/17 so going earlier won't help him miss less school. In October he will be there for his birthday too which is better for us.

SG,
If you change your mind and want us to pick you up you know your welcome since your on the way. We are still unsure how long to stay because I want to add a few days if a discount ever comes out. We can get 7 for 4 but don't want to stay another full week and the AAA discount is very minimal for the few days we want to add on.

Cheryl,
Sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead. Enjoy the time with your family.

Kristin,
I am sure your magnet is on it's way. If you don't end up getting it let me know and I will send you the one I got because I now have 2 of them one from last year and one from this year.

Ang

We're baaaaaackk:sad2:. Missed you all, world was not the same w/o you. It was great to see KB again:yay: Not much time in the parks, too crowded for us:scared:. Did all three DP's this time & I loved the QS. Hope everyone has a good weekend:cool1:

Bonzarella - So the parks were that bad? Wondering what TL will be like tomorrow. I was hoping it wouldn't be too crowded. Hopefully we will be there by 10:30 though. Sounds like you still had a good time.

SG- you are exactly right, credit score does effect insurance rates. Doesn't seem fair, but I guess for some if a person has a lower credit score, that person is more likely not to pay their insurance on time or not at all. Since I was previously an insurance agent I know what a pain it is to constantly deal with people letting their policies cancel for none payment. Don't flame me, I know sometimes people just can't help it.

Ang and Diva K, what is the magnet for?

Wic, I use to be a Six Flags fanatic. Since my first WDW trip, its been sort of, what's Six Flags????? I vote go to WDW!!!!

Radiology sounds like a great way to go. :thumbsup2

Hey ladies... another drive by posting here. I still try to read at least one day a week, but I'm so far behind that I have no real clue about what's going on.

First, I'm single digit dancing!!!:banana::banana: We depart for WDW & the AKL in only 9 days. We're scheduled to go back August the 23rd, but that date might slide to the 30th. It is possible that trip will be cancelled depending on the whole hubby's job thing. Because of that, we're going to make sure that we make the most of this trip!!

JM, I watch Suze Orman often and I like Dave Ramsey, way before they were popular. I think there is some validity to linking credit scores to insurance and such. For whatever reason, poor choices, bad luck or just circumstances, if people cannot pay their bills that is a problem, whether it is intentioned or not. That being said I think they should have classes, starting in grade school, in handling life matters. Going through this very minimal trauma over the cc I have a whole new appreciation for what other folks are going through. It should be illegal. What the lady told me was that the fact that I made an error in January in paying my bill is what is causing the charges. The bill was difficult to read and I read the wrong number and sent less than the full amount due, in total. I realized my mistake a couple of days later and sent another check but that did not matter to them. Since I send my check in the day I receive the bill or no later than the day after I never read the fine print much. You have 20 days to pay and it has to be received by then. I can see how a busy person might overlook and be a couple of days late and thus they feel entitled to gouge them. My Disney card is going in my lock box, only to be taken out for FD or some other such emergency. :cool1:

Bet you had a lot of folks who would come in and buy insurance to get the proof of insurance and then cancel it soon after. More so nowadays. Hard choice between eating and insurance. Not always that choice but nowadays more so.

M2E, I read the posts almost every single day and have no idea what is going on either. :dance3: I am so glad that you are in single digits and am looking forward to hearing how much fun you all are going to have. Tell Evie that I am sorry I will not be there to supply coloring books this trip. :lovestruc

Bonz, I do not do lines either. It is not so very bad when you are frequent guests as you know you can always catch whatever the next time around. In my case it might be the following week. Bet you still managed to have a blast. Not as much fun as when we are all there with you though.

Ang, I am so tempted to grab my one day tickets and join you but I could not leave Tom alone and his brother has been strangely reluctant to invite him for an overnight visit since he had him for two weeks last September. I am not sure the trip alone was worth it now. I did enjoy getting a couple of days off every couple of months or so even if it was spent working like crazy to get things done that I cannot do when Tom is home. :rolleyes1

He is a very slow learner and we have been working on "if a door is closed, close it behind you, if a door is open, leave it open" for about two years now. Not kidding folks!

SG

jm, parks were waaaay too crowded for us but we won't wait in even a 20 min line. Have a good time:goodvibes

Sometimes I don't mind waiting in line. But, 30-40 is my maximum. Unless it's like it was that week after no Christmas when you had no choice but to wait in hour long lines. If a line is 20 minutes or more, Jacob is allowed his DS.

My DH was telling me how some CC companies are increasing rates to 20% or more on those people that have high balances, such as $10,000. I think the lawmakers need to step in on that one.

JM, I cannot quote exactly what my interest rates are as I pay in full each month and do not encounter such fees, as a rule. I know that I have noted that some are above 20%. Imagine a family that has a reasonable balance, might be because of medical bills or a vacation, and they miss a payment and the company is allowed to bump them up into the 30-40% rate. Not just for NEW charges but the existing ones as well. Where are our usury laws and why are they not being enforced?

Every bank I visited yesterday insisted that it was all the governments fault. Probably somewhere in between them and the government but something stinks in Denmark. One bank actually had a sign up advertising No money down mortgages and bad credit/no problem. I did not stick around to talk to them. I picked the bank with a good rating (see Bankrate.com), only ONE branch in our small area, and seemed to be very conservative. When I first asked them about such silly loans they were polite and told me that I could not have one. :rotfl:

I am not so sure that people have got it yet. I hope it does not have to get much worse before they do.

THEY say that we need to loosen credit. If folks do not have jobs they do not have credit and if we make loans to folks who cannot repay the loans we are digging deeper and deeper. Not sure what the answer is but I sure hope someone does. My heart aches for those who are not retired and still raising children in today's climate. :scared1:

Rant, vent, grumble, I am officially an old fogy! :sad2:
