Thanks for all your suppport yesterday.
I am feeling better about everything today...:goodvibes
Had a nice chat with M&N via Facebook last night. :surfweb:
Got a new phone yesterday (old one broke...) its not an iphone but ain't it perty?
purplephone.jpg

Also went to Chuy's for dinner and had a margarita!
margarita.gif

I'm a happy girl again! :cutie:

(Going to Diva Sheryll's house tonight for a pizza & Wii bowling...Mary and her family will be there too....)

Diva K, like the phone. I'm thinking of getting a Blackberry. Our contract renews in October I think, so that should be a good time to get one.

The magic of the Margarita and good times with family at dinner. Glad you are feeling better. Hopefully all goes well with Diva Mary tonight.

DH has a Blackberry and wanted to know if I wanted one (Verizon had a deal that you got the Blackberry for free but its $30/month for the internet service.)
I spend enough time online when I am at home, I don't need to be on it when I'm not! :surfweb:

Got an email from Mary's 11yo daughter today asking if I was excited that they were coming with us now :rolleyes2

I'm thinking of getting the Blackberry just for scheduling etc. I probably won't get the internet access myself. We have Sprint and it would raise ours about $50 a month. Need to look into military discount, but online you have to email from your work email and Jonas isn't willing to do that.:confused3

Does anyone else have husbands that hate coupons or discounts? Mine will never ask to see if they offer military discounts, nor will he use a coupon. When we went to the movies, I received a coupon for $1.00 milk duds and asked Jonas to get me some and you would have thought I requested a Million Dollars or something. It's like pulling teeth for him to use a coupon.

Nope, my DH is cheap (but generous :lovestruc) before we went out last night he even asked if I had any coupons for Chuys!

Think I need an intervention...been on ebay looking @pin lots for the kids to trade...bought 10 a few months ago and gave each of Mary's girls 3 (b/c they ASKED!) before their cruise...:guilty:
Not sure how into trading they will be this time (they LOVED it when we were there in 2007...all the kids called me The Pin Fairy!) princess:
JM is there a particular pin you want/need?!?!? :hyper:

Linda,
Happy Happy birthday. I tried to send you an internet card but the darn sight keeps giving me an unknown error try again later. UGH!!!

I hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy.

Kristin,
Sorry but any friend that uses their child to try and clean up their messes is awful.

It sounds like she feels the tension and booked the trip as a way to make up for it. So she knows what is wrong. But she should't have her daughter ask for pins and ask if you happy about them going instead of talking to you and apologizing.

If she is trying so hard though I can say one thing, she must care a lot about your friendship.

Just my two cents. Glad you are feeling better today.

I have been concerned about this and have been asking around the boards and wanted to see what y'all think about our situation:
Our flight doesn't get in until after midnight, ME is aware of this but my concern is checking in so late that I won't get my request (connecting rooms with my parents who don't arrive & check in until later in the day.)
I plan on also faxing my request 5 days prior.
Should I check in online?:surfweb:
Any tips, suggestions would be appreciated! :cutie:

I can only speak of my experience the year we checked in at Pop around midnight. We had prefered and I even called in the morning of check in and talked to someone at Pop who said our room was right where we requested. I asked her to block it from being changed and she said she would. When we got there we ended up moved to the furthest preferred room there was. What we did was ask to be changed to our preference when a room opened on another day. We were told to talk to concierge in the morning. We did that and they found a room the next day. We were told to put our luggage by the door and they would move it to the new room that day. Actually that was last year when they lost our luggage and our case of water so we had lots of issues that year too. I just realized I am no longer a Pop tart. :scared1:

Thanks ang

Dear Ang

Never fear, just because you move someone does not mean that you are longer what you once were. You are still a Pop Tart as well as being a Good Sport. :rotfl:

Sometimes if you are firm you will find that you can get the room assignment you want. I am not so good at being firm. One time I argued with the desk clerk a bit and she kept telling me that it was a good assignment and it turned out to be one of the best I had ever had. I went back to thank her.

When you stay a long time room assignments are even more important. If we are near the food court I can count on Tom wandering out of the room in the morning so that I can be grumpy in peace and also know that when a phone call comes, and it will, from someone who recognizes my name on the door to meet them I can manage to get up there and not miss the opportunity.

Still a wonderful day. The mother of the groom sent me pictures of my son and his family. Better than nothing and I was able to share them with the other grandma as well. Who knows maybe a miracle will happen? I believe in them. Have killed the calf once so I might have to downsize to a goat this time but I would do so (and also cross my fingers that things would go right). A bit of prayer does not hurt either. Unfamiliar voices carry.;)

Linda,
lol a good sport huh. I like that. Anyway, We enjoyed our stay at ASMo when we were there and even loved the bus system there despite others reports of not having such a good time with it. Will is getting back into his soccer with camp this year and he is trying out for the high school team in August so he will love the theme. I also love that the rooms are newly redone with new beds and such there. Too bad you won't be there in October too because you bring enough magic with you for all of Disney.

I hope you had a great birthday today. I am also glad to hear Tom got you such a good gift. It is those little things that count most.

We are putting down more tile now that Al is home again. He is an awful perfectionist though and driving me nutso. Right now I am taking a break because as I told Al I don't do the job perfect enough for him. lol I then kindly pointed out how I warned him that his center lines were not exactly centered and he argued with me and now the tiles along the walls are crooked because of it. lol We really are having fun picking on each other.

Kristin,
Have you ever went to mouse pins online dot com? I buy lots of pins from them for about $1.65 to $1.75 each. They are always smaller park pins and most are CM pins with the little mickey on them. They trade well and we end up with some that we want to keep as well. They have sales whenever they get big pin lots in and that is when you get them the least expensive. Last sale was in April. I end up paying in the $40-$50 range for lots of 25 pins with tax and they sometimes add a lanyard in the package. If you sign up for their email they will notify you of their lot sales.

Melissa,
I am the frugal one in our house. My DH would just as soon pay full price for everything and never worries about money until he needs something and he doesn't have any. lol It is a nice contrast but sometimes I want to choke him. He would however use a coupon if I sent him to the store with it and not complain or feel funny.

Do you think Jonas is afraid of the person's reaction to him thinking he is cheap? I used to always feel funny when we order water at restaurants but that is honestly what we like to drink. It is because every once in a while we get a waitress who makes a face when we do it. I no longer look at their face when ordering my water.

Ang

SG, well I wished more for ya, but I am glad you got to see pics of your son today. Sounds like you had a nice day.

Ang, I didn't realize Will played soccer. I signed Jacob up for a league here that is more about having fun than winning. At least that is what the website states. Practice is on Saturday mornings before the games, so doesn't sound too competitve. Jacob liked the idea when I told him it is competitive.

I think AS Sports looks cool. Actually all of the hotels are themed so well at WDW. Room location doesn't bother me too much yet. I know one day it will. I guess staying at POR our first trip and having a long walk didn't spoil me, so I don't know what a good location feels like.:rotfl:

Maybe Jonas does feel like people will think he is cheap, but considering what we spent the last month between WDW, Universal and Constanze, we need to be CHEAP for a long time. I laughed when he called because there was no money in checking. That's the only time he worries about money, when the ATM denies him. I started paying all the bills the first month of our marriage because I couldn't stand listen to him complain about the necessaties (car, home, insurance, etc.). Maybe he needs to pay them for awhile. I think I will go live with my Mom for a month or so if he does.:scared:

And Ang, too funny about not looking at the wait staff when ordering water. And I feel like I am being cheap because I don't order appetizers or desserts. Oh, and I got to use my $10 return from Rainforest Cafe while on our last trip. Thank you for telling me about that program.

I was wondering if I could get a Pop Tart opinion going. I love to enter pics for the photography thread contests. I can't decide which pic to use. Usually bug the hubby but since he isn't here, can't do that. So, would all of you offer your opinions on which one you like (this week is DHS):

I never win, I just think it is fun to enter.

I like the Black and White Tower of Terror. It fits since the ride is set in the era of black and white TV. Plus I hate that stupid alien on the Great Movie Ride. lol

I handle the house bills and DH handles the business till he gets behind on paying stuff and then he tells me he wants it to be my job so I get to be aggrevated trying to make things work. Then as soon as things get caught up he takes over without discussing it with me. Men and their pride.

P.S. We never order appetizers or dessert and never felt cheap for not doing it. Maybe that is what they are making the face about us not ordering and appetizer and not the water order. lol

Another vote for the black & white for the exact same reasons as Ang.

DS is a sports nut...he's played soccer, baseball, basketball, flag football...unfortunately he needs to decide on one to focus on soon if he wants to play for the school teams jr and senior high. I know he'd LOVE All Star Sports but we like Pops busses too much to change.

Never actually got around to Wii bowling tonight...too busy talking, drinking wine and eating pizza...the kids entertained themselves without any fighting!
Everything was fine with Mary but then again we couldn't/wouldn't talk Disney in front of Sheryll too much since she isn't going.

Ang and Kris, thanks. Need to get it posted before I forget. I tried Black and White at DHS and they came out well, tried it at MK and that didn't work. Something about MK.

Real quick celebration, :cheer2::banana::woohoo::dance3:, photopass merged Vickie's pictures into my account. :woohoo: I really didn't think they would do it. I need to get an extension on some of my pics, but right now I am thinking I will be able to include pics from our Labor Day trip. :woohoo:

Several of you had mentioned the buses and we have found they are really hit or miss wherever you are. It never fails, need a MK bus and 3 Epcot buses go by, but need an Epcot bus and 3 MK busses go by.

JM, I like the B&W Tower as well. The angle is interesting too. Good luck! Glad you got your picture situation straightened out. If my house burned down it would be the pictures that I would regret losing the most. (Yes, I would get Tom out first):rotfl: Sports are a good way for boys to get some of that energy out and I think all sports should be more for fun and learning at the younger ages. My gs is like me, totally competitive. We are not sore losers though. :woohoo:

Diva K, I did not like the POP buses one nary bit. Sports is more compact and usually my room is very near the food court and the bus stop is near that. It is the best resort for those of us who do not care about pools and such and have problems getting around IMO. How sad that you have to censor what you say around your friends. I have friends who do not have a pot and ones that own the world and we talk about everything. I do not think I am capable of censorship in any shape or form although it would not be a bad thing for me to try to learn. Old dogs though. :goodvibes Dalton and I play Wii bowl all the time and he whoops me big time.

Ang, Tom turned the finances over to me after a few years of marriage when he discovered that I was very good at handling money. He sure was not. He used to have bank overdrafts all the time which took a fair percentage of his salary each week. When I asked him about it he told me that he put his check in the bank and wrote checks until he 'thought' it was gone.:scared1:People think I married him for money because he is so much older than myself but he did not have a pot and was so deep in a hole that it took me nearly ten years to dig us out, penny by penny.

As far as ordering water. Ordering drinks adds a lot to any dining out bill and you can afford to eat out about 20% more if you order water. I like water and am allergic to paying $2 for what costs them a penny or so to make (tea). As far as the waitress, if she is snooty I say nothing. If she is friendly I point out the fact that I am skimping on the drinks so I do not have to skimp on the tip. Perks them up every single time. :rotfl:

I expected nothing from my kids on my BD. It is easier that way because you are seldom disappointed. ;) My oldest grandson gave me a hug, in public too! My youngest grandson called. I saw pictures of my son and his family. Far more than I expected.

Before anyone starts a pity party I have to tell you that my thumb is sore from opening all the cards and my ear has calluses from being on the phone all day long. The computer was humming all day long as well. Life is good!
