Hey, can one of you FB experts answer me this? I go to click on a friend's link and I get that darned chat thing and no way to get rid of it. Sometimes it shows the whole thing with a delete but sometimes I just get part of it and it does not show the close button. Giant pain, it is.

Yep, with the room only you can cancel anytime before 5 days and lose nothing and if you cancel within the 5 days you only lose one day room rate. However, if I book a package, as I would have to with the QSFD it is 45 days window and have to pay for it in advance. Paying in advance is not a problem but I would hate to lose $200 if I have to cancel. Buying trip insurance costs as much or more and is picky about what constitutes a valid reason for cancelling. I do not drive in bad weather so going at that time of year is always difficult. I am a scaredy cat, I are. Since I drive I can leave here early or there, if need be. I think too much.

Are you going over Labor day weekend? Everyone I talked to who got upgrades were in value resorts going over the holiday. I am staying in October and don't expect any upgrades for us. To be honest I have heard horror stories about the busses at SS so unless they also offered me a rental car I would stay put in my value. lol Good luck thought I hope you get the offer.

I have heard that once you put your cards on two different accounts they can not put them together. I am hoping you will find that CM that knows how it can be done and does it for you though.

Sadly, I rarely open up facebook because I never did totally understand how to do everything there. I do however remember there was a little box at the lower right hand side to open an IM box to chat with friends in real time. You can turn that to red showing you are not online or green if you want to be online. There was an x to close that out though. It was up on top that I clicked friends to see all my friends and could go to their facebook page.

I got this email from Mary last night:

After much discussion, we decided to book the 3nts. at the Movies starting Aug. 16th. We also upgraded to 10-day no-exp. base tickets which we plan to upgrade to Annual Passes. We put it on our Disney Visa so we could get 6 months no interest for the bulk of the Annual Pass expense. (my head is spinning!) I guess Disneyland will have to wait.
Anyway, we hope to at least dine with y'all on occassion, so please let me know what resv. you have Sun. through Wed. I am going to call back daily to try to get a two more nights on property to get the free dining. If we can't get on property we will stay off property those nights and not eat
We will stay off property the night of the Saturday 15th and go to our Disney resort first thing on Sunday to get our tickets. We're so excited that we will be able to share some of the magic with y'all afterall.
P.S. Wouldn't it be cool if y'all upgraded to annual passes too? - hint, hint!

I am not sure how I feel about this...I guess I am jealous because she is getting to go to Disney AND went on a Disney cruise?

November 29th-December 13 @ All Star Music. QSDP and 10 day tickets for 2. $1804.36.

It was about $27 more than I had calculated. Anybody want to spend their valuable time figuring that out? Me neither.

Another miracle just happened. Tom bought me a BD present, not only that but I like it! Life is great!

Diva K, I would reply to Miss Mary thus. "Dearest Mary and family, how delightful it is that you are going to be at DW when we are. I am not sure of our present ADR's (you do NOT have them memorized do you?) but if we should happen to run into each other during our trips maybe things will work out for us to spend some time together. Hope you have a wonderful trip. PLEASE do not change any of your plans for anyone. The whole point is for YOU and YOURS to have a nice vacation. Anything else is pure pixie dust. There are so many who cannot afford to go at all now so those of us who can are blessed. You will get a cruise one of these days and it will be perfect.

Ang, I will go back and check your instructions and see if I get that darned IM screen to disappear. Thank you. Any chance of you changing your ressies to December? It is so much cooler and decorative that time of year.

What you are feeling is not anything anyone else has never felt before and remember it started with anger when she made you change your dates to meet hers and then backed out.

Maybe you need to see if you can change your plans back to what you originally had and not say anything to Mary till after the 45 day deadline.

My biggest suggestion is not to let it effect your family and not to change your plans to meet Mary's wants. I would simply tell Mary that you are sorry but you can not add people to your reservation because they needed to be made 90 days in advance ,and there are no bigger tables left in the system, then wish her good luck making her own reservations.

I still say you should tell her about the frustration she put you through. I really think that will help you get rid of the feelings you are having and then put them on her where they belong. On the other hand I know how emotionally difficult that can be.

The extra $27 can be discounted as Disney math. I noticed they round off prices now too.

I am going to look into how much it would cost to change our flights for December and I need to see if DS gets any time off then but I doubt it. If not we would have a shorter vacation. One problem is also that I don't have a Disney Visa so I will have to wait till General public codes come out. I wish I knew this was coming before I jumped on the cheap air fare.

SG!!!! Can't wait to see youI'll have you know I've only been to DW once this year. I keep running into bumps in my plans. Kicking myself for canceling Sept with those upgrades. Don't know whycause I hardly ever stay DVC anymore.
Ang, I have a couple Airtran $25 coupons I can pass along. They were running about 80 one way in Dec. Southwest was about the same. Fares will drop again next Tues so I'd wait to book.

Diva K, I would feel the same as you. I like SG's response. I thought you could use one of these though . I was just thinking of my own personal experience with a friend. I never confronted until one day I couldn't stand it anymore, finally did and now we are friendly, but not the friends we once were. Obviously Mary just doesn't have a clue how her actions have affected you.

Ang, Constanze got sick last night. It is the antibiotic (when we didn't give it to her, she wasn't sick to her stomach) and the vet wants me to keep her on it for the UTI she has. Two more days and it will all be gone. At least she is eating.

I'm afraid they won't be able to move the pictures and I don't know what to do. I'm upset with myself that I didn't specifically say, USE MY ACCOUNT. Guess I thought sending the website, telling her to use my email and my password and then to put in her code would be understood. Keeping my fingers crossed. Keep checking for a response email, but so far just the standard reply letting me know they got my email.

So, how many of us are actually going in September still?

Diva K, I used to be you. I am just passing on advice that I wished I had known long ago. It is an unfortunate fact that people treat difficult people better than accommodating ones. Even as I mowed my neighbors yard with the old reel mower to suit her persnickety ways I know that. My excuse? If SHE is not happy she will make her husband's life a living heck and I love HIM. I agree with Ang about you having a talk with Miss Mary. If you do not you will find that at least some of your friendship will diminish. Truth makes for better friends. If you do not have truth you have nothing. It will fester and one day come to a boil over something inane.

Ang, no, it was not undies. He has learned better than that and besides he has no idea what size I am. They are having a big sale up on the square and he got the nicest garden plaque that sits on an easel for only $6. I love the saying too. Much nicer than the pierced earrings he got me one year after many years of marriage. I have never had pierced ears. Loving the chair. Adjusted for my short legs and big "assets". Maybe you could shorten your Oct trip a bit and go again in December? Just a thought.

Bonz, I will wait until closer to time to ask about where and when we can meet because I will simply forget. My printer is down for the count right now so I cannot put things into my agenda. I have another printer upstairs but do not feel like tinkering right now. I cannot even print out my confirmation. Hope the computer does not crash. Would be my luck.

The general public codes are rumored to come out Sunday or Monday.

Did those of you who got upgrades get them when you booked or were you notified later? I plan to keep trying to get back to Sports if I can. FQ would be my dream come true though.

BTW, I will be 61 tomorrow and proud of it. Anything that puts me closer to getting a SS check thrills me. Hope it is still there by the time I qualify. With the way the world is going it might not. I look better than I did at 41 so all is good.

Going to see "UP" tomorrow and do anything else I feel like. Street fair tomorrow night as well.

SG ~ finally, it's official! I am so happy for and with you!!

I am losing count - who will be there early December? Of course, now I REALLY want to go!! Will book room only (that darn $200 dep is pain in the you know what right now), so fingers crossed for a nice room only code for early December.

Ohh, Kris...it never ends, does it? I agree with everyone's bits of wisdom concerning Mary, the dining, her new trip in general. Hang in there! You can be kind, understanding and a friend, without inviting her or finding a way for her to join your ADR's or spending more time with her family than you care to.

Melissa ~ I am so sorry Contanze is still not feeling well. I am not a fan of typical Vet advice and choose to go the holistic route most times - our furbabies are so much healthier since we made that change: food, vaccinations, etc etc. Not to say we do not be sure they have excellent medical care, we do. I just try to incorporate holistic as much as possible now. I do so hope she feel much better very soon.

Well, I decided to read a real book and stay away from the computer for a couple of days...and look how much I missed! I'll never catch up, so again, kudos to the upgrades and for those who are going in December.

As soon as I can save for the deposit, I will check dates (prob Sun - Thursday 11/29 - 12/5, me thinks) and resort - looks like it might be time for me to give ASMU a try. Any suggestion on where to request? AS would be the one resort I know absolutely nothing about. HELP, please! Thank you!

Truth be told, I'm not sure I would even want an upgrade to SSR or OKW. Pros: fridge and microwave, boat to DTD, pool slide. Cons: huge resort, not much of a food court and, like you said, crummy busses. We'd probably take it if it was offered, just because we've never stayed there, but with the DDP, I'd rather have a better food court than a microwave, kwim?

Wic--I always check the menus on allearsnet, and have to second what Bonz said--while OKW does have a food court, it looks pretty limited.

JM--sorry to hear about your photopass woes--I'll send some pixie dust your way that Disney can fix it for you.

Bonz--pixie dust for you on the house front, both buying and selling. I'd love to move, just to get rid of some of the junk we've accumulated over the last 8 years. Yeah, I know I can get rid of it without moving, but I'm far too lazy.

I think you should stay at Music. I was going to try to wiggle my way back into Sports before December but I will stay there if you, and maybe some others???, are going to be there. It is not where you are that matters but who you are with!

JM, yep, you will HAVE to come over and visit with me. Please bring your beautiful boy too? I promise not to scare him. Some kids like me right off because they think I am a lady with lots of toys, and they are right but I understand those who do not want to be fussed over too. Those darned antibiotics can cause more problems than they cure sometimes. I hope this improves now and stays that way.

Bonz, I read your post too fast earlier and thought I read that you had 'bumps in your pants". Nothing much surprises me but I had to go back and read that one again.

I was distracted from this posting by having to help out with a Bibical problem. Dd came by to pick up the bread I made for my 'favorite' (they are ALL my favorites) dgs and she showed me the food she had for the Bible School week. They are having a tour of Jerusalem and wanted to have authentic foods of the period. She did a great job of buying stuff but was stumped when it came to a Biblical dessert. She had bought brownies but could not come up with a name. I solved that one. Chocolate can only mean one thing = Manna from Heaven!

So far we have Melissa, Bonz, Christine and me round the pool. Bet we can add to that count. Watch out!!!

As usual, you got it right again. Why I didn't think of it myself..well, who knows. Yes, DD would definitely put the deposit on her charge card. It will give her very good points and for any travel related charge it can be paid off over time (everything else is due each month). So, I can easily mange that. SOOOO....when/if a general code is released...I will book AsMu asap!! YIPPEEE!!! Thank you, for another fabulous idea...that brain of yours never stops!

I can't believe I will actually try AsMu - guess it was meant to be - especially since I am not anxious to stay at POP again - although the Christmas decorations at POP are sheer delight.

Now, please don't forget to fill me in on any AsMu tips. I do have some needs, due to the 'ole MS... I will read the AsMu thread, but I trust my friends here opinions more. SG, we may never leave our comfy seats by the pool.

There was a rumor on the DIS Unplugged podcast this week that a free dining offer with the Quick Service plan might be in the works for fall. I know you'd be all over that, but it may be that the rumor mill was wrong and it was this regular plan that everyone's talking about. Not showing up to hold seats for a nasty person?? I like you more and more every day!

M&N & SG--It's not so much the blackberries I promised, but the blackberry bushes. Some of them in my creek are 10 feet high. They (the berries) should be ripe pretty soon--and I'd be happy to offer them free to anyone who's willing to help cut the bushes back.

TB, see, you are so smart that you do not even realize it. I do not have problems with snakes or poison ivy and such but the chiggers eat me alive so I happily pay $4 a quart for blackberries. Right now I can walk a few feet from my house as they have a Farmer's Market on the square every Tuesday. I have been suggesting that for years. Bout time they listened to me. I figured the FD was coming so I was just waiting. The QS is just right for me as I do not like to eat big meals but prefer to graze all day long. Those new mugs will be a nice addition to my collection. I have the mugs from back when they were 'lifetime' mugs. Helps me to identify DISers to potential DISers when I see those old mugs. I am sorry about your blackberry canes. I know how bad they can be and getting rid of them is nearly impossible. Are they in an area where you could burn them down?

M&N, I am afraid that I have nary a Music tip to give you. It has been many a moon since we stayed there and then it was a have to situation. I was looking at the map of the resort and am even more thinking that I shall keep calling and calling and attempting to get my resort switched back to Sports, even though it is Pop Warner week that second week. Kids I can deal with, not long walks. Failing that I might bite the bullet, when I check in, and upgrade to a preferred. I will not do so in advance because I hear of too many folks who spend the extra bucks and get a room further away than the regular rooms. If they show me a preferred room at check in that I like I will spend a few extra bucks though. Does you family buy you Christmas presents? Maybe you could hint that something toward the trip would be a good thing? Who takes care of Sophia when you are gone?

Linda, you could have special needs block a room for you. When medical needs are the issue they are wonderful to work with. They have been incredibly helpful to me and my strange request - due to the MS I need a room with a lot of natural light - not sunlight necessarily (too much sunlight is not good either), but a room not blocked by icons or covered by a tree. They've been great. They can also be sure you have a shower with a bench, if that helps anyone.

If you want, I will pm the number - I do post it, but there is a better extension to call for more experienced CM's. They can either be sure you have std a room close as possible, or if you book pref they can block one very close for you -and no one can unblock it!!
