Sept. 2009 @ WDW! Be a Pop Tart 2009~come share your(Bounce Back or NOT)Dates !!!

They're all tired from staying up late chatting last night! I was at ds's school all morning--I volunteer in his classroom every Tuesday. DS brought his teacher and her TA a treat from our trip (using up all those darned snack credits!), and his TA told me she's going to WDW next month--her first trip in almost 20 years. Poor woman, I tried not to pounce on her like a shark with all my tips and tricks, but it's tough to hold back. Even ds got her--she asked him if it would be okay if she asked him for advice and he said "make sure you get a fastpass." Ah, grasshopper. . . and so the student becomes the teacher. :worship:.

Good for your DS. I have a hard time not getting all excited when people mention going to WDW.

You are so right about the winds. Funny, growing up in West Texas I don't remember a lot of wind, but when I moved back there 5 years ago, lots of wind. Move here, WIND. Maybe it is following me, DH would say I'm just a big wind bag.

Be glad you were at WDW last week, on top of it being cold, I saw that DHS and MK closed due to capacity today. :scared1: I knew it was going to be bad this week.

:offtopic:MY DAY: okay so every Tuesday I have to take my DD to dance and I also have dance class with a bunch of high schoolers (I am the oldest out of 7 kids ranging form 14-22 I am 25).. Well tonight like every 1st tuesday was Pointe/Ballet night my very absolute favorite till the teacher says Lisa you teach tonight I twisted my ankle can't dance... Lovely ... I am too fat to teach thats why I stand in the back and just go with the flow. (Mind ya I hold my own) So I begin to strech our feet and then we put on our shoes...
Okay I have taken pointe for over 10 yrs and I wear my shoes one way well apparently for 10 yrs I have done it wrong according to some twig 17 yr old who decided if I can't tie my own pointe shoe apparently I can't teach her either. And so she began to talk during the entire class so what do I do... I yell over her and then I would comment on her converstation like " oh no he didn't" came out of my mouth LOL

Long story short my nervous are shot my head hurts and I have 4 bleeding toes :headache:

Got to love all those 17 year olds with all that life experience.:rotfl: Hope the feet get to feeling better soon.

M&N, glad you cable got turned back on.

We just finished watching the Incredible Hulk, Jacob got it for Christmas and we watched it tonight for the first time. Saw that hunky Ed Norton, isn't that Timmy's man??? I could have paused that last scene and just stared at Robert Downey Jr. all night!

Won't be around much tomorrow. Jacob has a dentist appointment, then we are going to go try to find an Imax theatre to see Monsters vs Aliens from there Jacob has a doctors appointment, plus need to go to Target.

Hope everyone has a fantastic Wednesday!

not sure you can fit your arms around me considering how much I've grown this winter:scared1:

well you can always join my boat... bu not the POTC boat... between me and KB and Ang... I wonder why it got flooded!!!!:lmao:

Long story short my nervous are shot my head hurts and I have 4 bleeding toes :headache:

I hope you are now taking the much needed rest....

 Now that I am safely on my way to 30, I can say that I don't like a lot of teenagers. I don't think I was ever that obnoxious ;)
Good for your DS. I have a hard time not getting all excited when people mention going to WDW.
I know, I feel like I just want to plan out their entire trip!
One of my students(I teach cake decorating) mentioned she wants to go and is thinking of taking her family in Jan 2010. I IMMEDIATELY pulled out my Passporter and showed her resort options, told her what week to go and even started suggesting rides her 2 y/o would like...:rotfl: She just kind of looked at me for a minute

Be glad you were at WDW last week, on top of it being cold, I saw that DHS and MK closed due to capacity today. :scared1: I knew it was going to be bad this week.

Wow really?!

Won't be around much tomorrow. Jacob has a dentist appointment, then we are going to go try to find an Imax theatre to see Monsters vs Aliens from there Jacob has a doctors appointment, plus need to go to Target.

Let me know how the movie is...I am thinking of taking my boys on Sunday after church.:3dglasses

Got to love all those 17 year olds with all that life experience.:rotfl: Hope the feet get to feeling better soon.

I swear here and now if my DD(4) acts like the 17yo from tonight I might straggle her, BART SIMPSON STYLE!:lmao:

I hope you are now taking the much needed rest....

Of course not on here and doing some well needed ironing!

 Now that I am safely on my way to 30, I can say that I don't like a lot of teenagers. I don't think I was ever that obnoxious ;)

I may have been for like 2 secs and then *WAM* my mother smacked me
:worship:And I am sure I deserved it ... Thanks Momma:worship:

Hey folks! Please do not pick on 17 year olds. My grandson was just here and he is a delightful young man, most of the time. :rotfl: He does think he knows it all though, we all do until we get old enough to know how dumb we are. :worship: The thing is that we used to be their age so we sort of understand where they come from and they have never had the good luck to be ours, whatever that might be, so they are just ignorant, cute but ignorant.

With what I do I know far too much about parents who are not involved and why some kids act as they do. Thank heavens for those nasty mean parents, who however much we thought they did not understand us, understood us too well. :worship::love: Parents need to be parents, not friends. Maybe when our kids get older? I am still waiting, mine is nearly 40.:rolleyes1

Lisa, 'twigs' are all bark and limbs and full of sap. She can attempt to make you feel inferior but you have the power to not feel anyway but how you want. I am sure you did well and taught her a little something, something.:flower3:

Disneymoon, I have read many reports that prostrate cancer is very slow acting and often does not require treatment, but I think that is for older men and your dad is but a spring chicken (nearly my age). :) Sounds as if you have a good handle on treatment and such and have good advice so I bet things will go well and he will be around to tease you for many more decades. Please let us know how things go?

JM, the movies are almost always better at an IMAX and with such good company to boot! Something to look forward to after a dentist appointment is a good thing. Have a blast!:thumbsup2

Bonz, as I remember I had plenty of arm left when I hugged you goodbye in September so there should be no problem. I have short arms too. If not, ever heard the song "Hugging and a Chalking"? :rotfl2: BTW, on the diet I do I can eat all the cheese I want as long as I forgo the crackers. The stinkier the cheese, the better!:cool1:

ANTS, I cannot believe that you do not know any DIS neighbors. Have you never gone to the big PA meet? I have loads of them around these parts. I am lucky.

M&N, no Teletubbies for Sophia? That is not good. :cutie: Glad you have the services back up. The only complaint I have is over my bill. I do all my own tech support so they should cut me some slack.

Plumber is here and seems to know what he is doing. I am thrilled. Not that I cannot fix this stuff myself but it would take me much more time, not to count the time I would spend upchucking afterward. Have one room's carpet cleaned and think I can finish the other three by this evening. Couches to do tomorrow, they stink. I come in from yardwork and flop and the sweat builds up and lingers. I love days when stuff gets done.

CC this afternoon and I bought gallons of bubbles and some big packs of wands for the kids for their Easter presents. Non violent toys are needed for this group.

Just heard the pipes rumbling. :scared1: PLEASE let this stuff be fixed. The valve for the one thing is going to cost $60. Can't wait to see what breaks next. Please do not remind me of the many years without a single repair. I do not remember them just now. :sad2:

SG

SG, I hope your plumbing troubles are fixed. It has been one thing after another for you, but I know the feeling.

Movie was fantastic! We really enjoyed it. Jacob didn't want to see it in 3D, but I think he enjoyed it. Like a normal Dreamworks, a lot of jokes for us adults that kids don't get. Oh, and during the previews, we saw one for Harry Potter. I asked Jacob what he thought it was for as soon as it came on and he said "Peter Pan and the Half-Blood Prince.":rotfl2:

I'm not a big fan of Star Trek, but I think I will have to see this new movie coming out. Looks really good.

And SG, you are so correct about the IMAX being better. After seeing Polar Express in 3D at one, I now have to see all 3D's at the IMAX. Can you believe we have 4 IMAX theaters in the area. Before, we had to drive four hours to see one.

Dentist went ok, they were sealing three of his molars. The cutest set of twin boys was in the office. They had their hair all punked out and the dentist gives them shades to wear while the work is being done, so they really looked like rockers!

Jacob's doctor visit went well. Jacob isn't at the point he wants him with his focus and hyperness, but we don't want to increase his medicine. He is already at the max for his weight.

:woohoo: Hubby should be home in two weeks. Then we go to Cocoa Beach!

 Now that I am safely on my way to 30,

:sad2: If only I can be 30 again....

ANTS, I cannot believe that you do not know any DIS neighbors. Have you never gone to the big PA meet? I have loads of them around these parts. I am lucky.

sad to say I dont know them... but you know how it is Miss Linda.. some likes gourmet(You) and I only falls under generic...

I do have Pa friends who dis.. I met them here at Dis :thumbsup2 and have met them at WDW already... we are planning a Unsurprised bday Party who will turn the great big ?0 in Novmber :banana::banana:

Oh no I was like 4 pages behind.

Jess,
So sorry to hear about your BIL and father. I hope all is better with BIL and that your DF is ok that it was caught so early.

M&N and Linda,
MS and Lupus now those are two serious diagnoses. You need to take care of yourselves.

Linda I knew there was another reason why we get alone. I have Lupus as well. Sounds like we both have the version that does not attack the major organs though which is important. Gotta love the rosey red cheeks and nose that make us look drunk though. lol

M&N I have a friend diagnosed with MS when she was 25 and watched her go through good times and bad so please take care of yourself.

I am going to MNSSHP either 10/6 or if that date is not going to happen 10/8.

Melissa, Cheryl, and Timmy,
Ok I have 6/4 working best for TL in the afternoon after Timmy flies in and Melissa pickes up Jacob. Then 6/6 seems to work best for dinner. Yes, William will be there since DH won't be there to keep him with him. I am sure him and Jacob will be fine. Does Jacob have the Nintendo DS? I am sure they can play head to head if they get bored with us chatting. Any suggestions on where to go for dinner? On site off site? I can try to make reservations if we want onsite.

Lisa,
Take care of those feet. I could not imagine taking ballet as I am sure I would brake my toes the first time I put all my weight on them. lol 17 year old girl you need say nothing else. lol

Bonz,
I am hoping you can go in June but I understand if you can't but now TB has to go since she started it. Are you going to go in October? Glad to hear the boys are the same. lol
As for weight I am sure you have a ways to go to catch up with me and now that we are older God help us. lol I Won't even talk about that boat sinking I am blaming it on the other 17 people in the boat and besides that I was laughing too hard to see what was really happening.

Ang

Opps my bad ... I had a bad night at dance however not all the girls in the class are so bad and most if them are the same age... the "skinniest" doesn't really bother me as much as the disrespect....

Ang... those dates work great for me... I am not sure about Pete... there would be days that he might wake up and find it interesting to hang out with us if not with Gmax... but I think he flies in on the 6th and so I wont see him till the Cape May dinner... if ever you cancel trex... you know where to find me...

The girl who was interested to work on the 10th just decided at the end of the shift to not work it :faint: so I am still looking for someone... but I am booking the flight for the 10th tomorrow just in case it go up again :scared:

Ok... so it is a wait and see process then for Hairy Party but I am def'ly doing the 2nd and whatever dates you are doing is the date Gmax is doing that is depending on your verdict :lmao:

Bonz!!! I am still crossing everything I can cross for you to be able to come to the World... you have till May 1st for final arrangement :p

Cheryl how far are you now from the World... since the move did you get closer or farther ???

It's Maundy Thursday... need to be a good for a little today tomorrow and Friday :guilty:

I hope everybody have a great day!!!:wizard:

Hey Ang, yep, I remember the first time we met. It was like twins, seperated at birth. I felt so sorry for you cause you were sooooo much like ME.:lmao: My lupus comes and goes and the red face has not happened in a long time. I would rather keep the red butterfly rash and get rid of the pain, sometimes my hair hurts. I look so darned healthy and on those days it is like I am moving in slow motion and seem just plain lazy. :confused3 Is Will only attuned to that one video game? I tried to bid on some video games for him but was outbid the other day. I might have bid more had I known, for sure, that he would enjoy variety. I know Tom does not like changes.

Lisa, you drink all that water and then go to bed and expect to be able to sleep? Ah, youth. :rotfl: I hope your dh got home in time and all is well. :goodvibes One of my small students takes ballet classes on Wednesdays and I told her a version of YOUR story. She enjoyed it. You were the heroine. :yay:

Timmie, I cannot think of the official name of the PA meet but it is a very big thing and I know it is not far from you. I will ask my friend, who helps coordinate it, for the info. YOU should definitely be there. Lots of contests to win and all those DIS friends, as well as other websites, to meet.:wizard:

JM, one bathroom is back in perfect order and the other should be soon. Needed a part ($60) that he did not have close to hand. The plumber is very efficient, neat and his pants were fully pulled up. Nice, too. When I get the bill I will know more. :rotfl: When my hubby retired, 9 years ago, I had planned to replace everything but then decided not to waste the remaining years in the items so now the chickens have come home to roost. Since the monies that I had put away for such a plan accrued interest in all those years things are not as dire as they sometimes feel though. Imagine having all this happen and not being able to afford it? Still would rather spend it on DW. I am taking one of the kids at the CC to see the new Star Trek movie. It is one of the perks of living in a small town where you know everyone, you can borrow children. This kid should have been mine anyway, we like all the same things. What 11 year old do you know who can discuss Twilight Zone episodes with a woman old enough to be his grandma? Glad you guys had a great time at the movies. Loved your son's sense of humor. Much wisdom is uttered by children, and ignored by some grownups.

M&N, does your MS cause you a great deal of problems? How long have you had it? Will it be possible for you take care of Sophia when she gets big enough to run away from you? Those were always my concerns with my grands. The older one was clingy and so I did not have much to worry about but keeping up with the younger one was a bit harder. Still is. (grin)

I just counted and I have 8 one day tickets available. If my bil should become demented and even hint at offering me another 'vacation' I think I will jump at the chance. The day is coming when I will not be able to get away so I must make hay while the sun shines. I can now see the side view mirrors so driving will be so much easier. :woohoo: I think some of the FD days are only $82 a day. Even I can afford a few of those.

SG

Ang, yes Jacob has a DS. I'll bring him and I just put both dates on my calendar. Really looking forward June. Anywere is fine for dinner. If Jacob doesn't like the food I can always just get him some McD's. Just purchased the Tables in Wonderland card, is that what it is called? I got it backwards when I went to purchase it, the CM got a kick out of it.

I'm having a lazy day. Got caught up on a couple of DVR'd shows, now I'm Dis'ing and FBing. Actually I am just avoiding the dreaded cleaning of Jacob's room, which has spread to the family room and my bedroom.

Hope everyone has a great day, it's almost Friday.

Well I hope you were able to get some rest... not much luck with those discounts and code last night... now time to get to work...

I got some sleep and actually slept well ... got up ran my errands and am home to relax till 5 and then I am off to the gym with my sister :rolleyes1 not looking forward to it :scared1:

Better luck today/tonight on discounts

Ah water doesn't bother me too much ... If I drink coke or tea then I'm up all night.... Thanks for making me your heroine .... glad ur students liked ... it that makes me feel :cloud9: special :cloud9:

Doing pretty good today on my losing weight journey (I refuse to refer ot it as a diet as I am making it into a life change)

:grouphug:Hugs and :wave2: too all

Plumbing work all done and while not cheap it was not overly awful either. It is just that I have done most of the smaller repairs, and some not so much so, for so many years that my dh is used to not having to pay anyone to do much. For what he charged for labor it was well worth me not having to spend the entire day doing it, I am not that skilled in some things, and how sick I would have been afterward. I do not bend well, especially right now. I found out that he also remodels bathrooms. He shot me a figure that is almost affordable, not this year though. The promise of 'cash' even brought promise of a further discount. Now to find out how much the new roof is going to cost. Always something!

Lisa, ALL Pop Tarts are special, in their own unique way.:lovestruc Might I inquire as to what you tape? I never watch anything in real time and if my Roku box could stream from the internet network shows I could easily drop my cable. If you could get your son to contain his mess to HIS room you could just close the door and pretend that it is not there. When he gets a bit older, and has things in his room that he does not want you to see, he might well take care of it himself to keep you away, far away.:rotfl:

SG

SG,
Don't you go buying any video games for Will remember he is a spoiled only child and has an over abundance of stuff especially rocks. lol Speaking of rocks I noticed in a sales add for Easter basket stuff painted pet rocks with fluffy hair. See I should have gotten William working on dressing his up sooner now someone else is making money off those rocks.

I do recall the wonderful Tuna at Pop by the way. Between Pop and Earl of Sandwich Will ate a lot of Tuna sandwiches. Earl's is a tuna melt with cheese and not cold like at Pop though.

Oh yeah your gonna love this story. DH and I went to get a mortgage refi loan now that it is in the 4% range. We went to our bank and they run them through the governement Freddy Mac program that the news is reporting they just pumped a bunch of money into so people start spending and buying real estate. We have pristine credit with credit scores in the 700 range, low debit to credit ratios etc. and we were turned down for a loan no excuse given. I think the bank is more miffed than us. They said our credit is better than others that have recently been accepted by Freddy Mac. They said they would give us a loan from the bank though on a baloon payment or ARM the same loans that got the lenders in so much trouble in the first place. We told them to keep their money. We then heard on the radio the news station was saying that 90% of all applicants are getting turned down now that the government lowered interest rate for mortgages. Go figure.

The pain you talk of with the lupus is it do to swelling of the muscles and such? Was it you who had fibromyalgia too?

Melissa,
We will just have to make sure there is something on the menu that Jacob will eat at the place we go. I was a picky eater as a child and to be honest I would have rather went hungry than eat what was on the table most times. It was the texture of the food in my mouth that my mind and stomach didn't agree with. When forced to eat my stomach took over and it wasn't pretty. I am blessed that William will eat anything except sushi and seaweed. One of his favorite things at Disney during free dining is Chef's De France for snails and duck (YUCK). He loves steak, tuna spinach, quich. You name it he eats it.

Do you have any suggestions of places to eat? Cheryl and Timmy how about you any restaurant suggestions from you? In a park, out of a park. Heck, I would be happy with Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck's at DTD lol.

Ang

Ang, that is just plain wrong. The banks made the bad loans in the first place and they are wanting to be given a handout so that they do not lose any money while folks who did what they should are being penalized? My brother, who is on disability, and has the worst credit you have ever heard of just got a car loan. 25% interest. Guess they would rather take the risk and MAYBE get that than to lend to responsible folks who WILL pay the money back. The kicker is that they cannot come after my brother's money cause it is protected like O.J's was. I figure that there will not be enough of a car left to repossess either. I am sorry. Maybe try some other lenders? There is a whole lot of cash sitting out there somewhere and folks who would like to earn more than the measely 2.5% that is being given out.

Believe me you, the video games were very inexpensive. I was just afraid that Will would not have an interest in anything 'new'.

The food court at PORFQ is quite good and has a wide variety of foods. The atmosphere is wonderful and there are carriage rides, a boat ride over to DTD. and a piano player in the lobby in the evenings. The pool is fabulous. We used to stay there when we had our kids at home.

We gave up on a diagnosis of either fibromyalgia or lupus long ago since the treatment is the same. Lupus is easier to spell. It is a general muscular ache, deep ache. Hurts to think about moving sometimes.

Would you folks stop making it impossible for me to NOT think about joining you all down there? I should not, I really should not.

Please tell Will that I do not eat bait/sushi either. :lmao:
