Sept 2005 Roll Call...It’s Finally Sept! Are You Ready? Come Share Your Enthusiasm

It's only about 23hrs until we leave for the World. I'm starting to get super anxious with all of these horrible things going on this week (ie. Katrina). I can't even think about being happy in Disney right now when I'm more concerned with making donations :grouphug: and hoping that we have enough pixie dust to make the drive from NYC to WDW. All of this talk of counties running out of gas is extremely scary. Well anyway, good night everyone and wish us luck :sunny:

Is it too late to be added to the list? DH and I will be there Sept 24 - 28. Staying at CBR. :goodvibes

It is never too late! I got you on the list and we are updated.

Ahhhh September is finally upon us. Is everyone ready?

I had to post just so I could see how long I have left on my ticker. AND!!!! I talked my husband into going a day early! So now I get 5 days at pop and 4 days at AKL!!! So my ticker is showing a day longer than I actually have. AND!!! My new (to me) Expedition (UGH! gas prices this past week have kinda made me sorry I bought it) will be delivered to my hotel while I'm there!

I already feel pixie dusted! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I'm getting pretty excited, but I also feel like I am totally unprepared. I am on course this week so I have been away from home since Monday. DH said a 'big pkg' came in the mail for me - maybe it would be our reservation confirmation and tickets? We'll be at POR Sept 18-23. I still need to re-visit my warderobe - I'm not sure I have anything that fits. Boy, I wish I could just snap my fingers and lose 20 lbs! Anyway, no matter what I am sure we (and everyone going in Sept) will have a great time. Fingers crossed we have nice weather.

I used to be soooo excited about this trip, actually counting the days! But after seeing the sicko loser looters and what is going on in the aftermath of the hurricane, I just can't get excited folks.

I actually thought about cancelling my trip, but I have a friend who is going with me and I would not pull out and do that to her. I am just so sick hearing about and seeing video clips of looters taking advantage of so many people. And to know that local hospitals are having issues with these low life scums makes it even more difficult. Just not that excited about going to WDW anymore folks. :confused3

I know, I can't do anything about the looters here in Texas, nor can I go and rescue folks on their roofs. One thing I know I can do to feel somewhat better is to donate, donate, donate!

Just had to share my thoughts with my Dis friends. :earsgirl:

Only 7 more days to go!!!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc  :cool1: :cheer2:  :cool1: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

My husband and I will be there from Sept 20 to Sept 26. The family trips we would have gone on earlier this year were cancelled due to a family emergency, so I am more than ready for this trip. While I've had an easier time than those affected by Katrina, it has still been a rough year. My prayers go out to those in need.

same for me..........my excitment has dwindled due to the hardship that is going on for the flood victims. when i saw the tv showing all the looting and the young people looking at the camera laughing and holding up what they stole, like 12 pairs of nike shoes, i got sick.

why should the businesses suffer this additional lose?
it is pathetic.

last year i was at disney oct 1 and the red cross workers were staying at allstar sports. they were helping the floridians from that hurricane.

i brought an additional suitcase of clothes and gave it to the red cross workers. i knew i was going and thought what better way to donate.
at the mnsshp i went to i told the cm i was collecting candy for the red cross workers. they were very generous.
the next day i gave all the candy that i collected. two of the rc workers were so delighted. they said the children will be so thrilled to get those treats.

anyway, back to the topic, i go at the end of the month. by the time i get there, some of you will already be back.

wishing everyone one of you the most wonderful trip ever at disney. :teeth:

Yes I'm getting more and more excited while at the same time more and more depressed about Katrina aftermath. I can't seem to stop watching the news but it's really getting to me. I'm glad to see America pitching in with donations. I would like to see more of Hollywood biggies pitch in. Kuddos to Morgan Freeman though. (I do remember several million dollar donations after tsunami-hopefully the Hollywood elite will be as generous to our population as they were to victims of Tsunami). I will be donating to the Red Cross.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to our trip. Sorry for the soapbox!) Also crossing my fingers for good weather. Watching the weather channel (Just like our trip last Sept.-we went right after Jeanne). I really need the "magic".

14 days and counting!!!

One more week for me! :Pinkbounc
Although I'm glad (?- don't think that's the right word) to see that I'm not the only one who is suddenly having a hard time getting excited when I'm watching the news of the devistation in the Gulf. :guilty: More thoughts and prayers going out to all those affected :grouphug:

So Excited! 9 more days -- and we move into our new house this weekend -- so it will go by very quickly.

As for Katrina -- DH and I have decided that we're going to take a vacation to New Orleans as soon as the hotels are able to get back up and running. Donating now is important, but so is continuing to support an amazing area that thrives on tourism. The city will come back (as will the region) -- I have to believe it!
