Sept 2005 Roll Call...It’s Finally Sept! Are You Ready? Come Share Your Enthusiasm

I'm kinda in that slump phase right now. For some reason I always get the feeling that my vacation is over before it even starts (does that make sense?). This time around I tried to stretch making ressies for things out really far so I wouldn't do it all at once. I'm still debating between the Magical Express and towncar though (leaning towards towncar for a grocery stop.)

I decided to rent a car from the airport and drop it off in Disney. For 30 or so dollars it seemed reasonable and I can also use it to pick up some things before getting to the resort. I'm doing the same on the way back. I didn't want to waste 3 hours with DME.

September 3-13th..SSR

The weather is warm and is sooo much a chance of rain, but way cooler than in the summer time...

I hear you talking about thinking it is over before it starts always seem to go by way to fast..I also do not know what to do about transportation...Our friends will be picking us up at the airport and taking us to SSr so I will stop at the store with them but I need a way to get back to MCo they ahve to work the day we leave...I do not know what to do a town car or ME.. :cool1:

Doug thats a good idea I might have to look into doing that. Are your rates reasonable?

BTW we are updated only 37 more days for me.

I used Alamo and did the PrePaid option, which lowered the price.

I just did a price check at their website, again using the prepay selection (www.alamo.com) and this is what came up for if you were to pick up a car on Sept 10th:

Economy: $18.89
Compact: $20.69
Midsize: $23.39
Fullsize: $26.99

Since Alamo has a center right in Disney this should be very convenient. I can drop the car off after I arrive and they will shuttle us to our resort. On the way back they will shuttle us to the car center.

Hope this helps.

So, one month to go for me, and still no DIS'ers with me at Fort Wilderness?

Guess we have the place to ourselves! :earboy2:

renting a car sounds like a great option.

we would need to car seats so it's not an option for us. Does it really take 3 hours to get to the resort using ME?

The 3 hours I mention is for the return trip back to the airport. The material I've read says you need to check into DME 3 hours before your return flight.

I also noticed that Alamo rents mini vans for a little more than I wrote in my previous message. Maybe they also have car seats for children.

ScubaMickey and I (Mickey Nut 50) will be there Sept. 8 thru 12. Staying at CSR - my new favorite resort!
