Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

Crew Snacks? :confused3

:hippie:

I was reading a thread that the crew has to buy snacks at the same price as the guests and a nice way to reward good service - especially in non tipped positions - snacks are a nice thing to give them. I am also taking a couple of photo mats to Guest Services to have signed by the characters, and have heard that the characters like to have candy and snacks while signing away. I have trail mix and some candy to divvy up as needed.

Brenda sounds like you guys are going to have a crazy weekend.

(this is Heather by the way - my laptop is at the house where I am cat sitting, and I did not log off John before I started to quote).

That's so awesome - thank you! We decided to make the FE gifts on our end - had some fun ideas and wanted to get into the spirit of things! (However, again, we know we're way past the deadline, so NO PRESSURE on ANYONE to oblige!!!!!)

My daughter came home tonight saying how tired she was from fourth grade, and she just "needs that cruise!" We're raising a diva.
LOVE your 4th grade DIVA!!!! Is your family in Vancouver on Monday night to come to the Pan Pacific hotel for the DIS meet anytime between 4:30 to 6:30

That's such a great idea Heather - i wasn't aware of that....hummmm - may need to make a trip to costco :)
Yes it will really be fun in SF - one of these gals moved up to Oregon quite a fews years ago & i haven't seen her since then - she was back a few years ago & we had a big party planned but then my DS came home from college for the wkend - so i missed the party.
JUST really hoping that the Giants have their GAME ON tonite so we can leave with a "win" :)
back home in Iowa is also the HUGE Iowa / Iowa State football game that most of my family will be attending. I have to plan a trip home for that game one of these years.....

So last week I complained that Frontier had changed our flight making it impossible to board the Princess cruise on Sunday. We had to change our flight a day early and incurred an extra hotel night expense. Well my DH complained to Frontier and wrote a letter that got in the right hands and Frontier just responded that they will reimburse us for the extra hotel night and meal expense.:thumbsup2

One more week to go!!!

HOW NICE is that!!!! Not many airlines "care" that much anymore or have that kind of customer service!!!!

I think we want to link with some early diners. We are very far away from having little ones though. The third child will be taller than me by Christmas! How do we link dining?

we would be interested in linking with the early dining.
we are 2 adults no kids :)

Sigh...I wish. That's the part I'm not looking fowward to...being away from my furkids for 10 days! :sad1:

We have early dining also and would like to link with our fellow DISer's. I think that we need a list of people and their reservation numbers. Someone did this on the WBTA last year

Good Morning everyone. One week from today, we will be on our way North. I can't wait, although it is going to be a crazy week along with getting my FE gift done (the modification I tried did not work out the way I wanted to, so I am back to the original plan - Brenda and Tim, I might be working on them while on the train)

Hey everyone, don't forget to use your "Character Calls", each reservation can have two calls!
You just have to log into your reservation on the Disney Cruise Line website, and near the bottom it should have a picture of mickey and say something about character calls. You can set up the date/time for the call or have them call right away.

We just set one up this evening to have Mickey call our DS, and made sure we had the video camera ready for it, and played it on speaker phone.

As soon as it started my son looked at me and said "how is this happening?!?" lol.
It was great, he was so happy about it!

So make sure you get those calls, even if you don't have kids, its still fun to hear. I think you can get mickey, goofy or ariel to call.

We are not planning on using ours, so if any one else needs the calls, let me know.

That is great to know that they have decent Customer service.

We are leaving behind our furkids also. 1 10 year old dog, who is a big baby (and hopefully will not destroy the house like he did last year), 2 12 year old Siamese mix cats, 1 6 yr. old cat, and a almost three year old Ragdoll (my little brat). The good thing is that we have a wonderful pet sitter who lives behind us. I am hoping that we can convince her 11 year old son to sleep at our house, and spend time with the dog will help.

oh YAY!!!!! altho being from Cali - it takes a pretty big EQ for me to get worried.....:upsidedow crazy huh???

Meh... Everyone on the east coast freaked when they had a 5.6. Out here, we use a 5.6 to scramble our eggs. :)

I can't believe how much stuff we have for the FE thing just by itself... We may be wandering around the ship the last day giving stuff away to total strangers...

After a couple of false starts, I was able to get our FE made yesterday. Nothing like trying to build something from scratch without a pattern. :headache:

FUN FUN FUN Weekend ahead!!!! Iowa - Iowa State tomorrow - GOOOOO HAWKEYES!!!! won't be able to watch it though as it's GIRLS weekend in the City....going with 3 fabulous friends to SF in the a.m. - hanging out at Fisherman's Wharf until the GIANTS game time tomorrow night. - then lots of appts next week will really help the week fly by & should be picking up sister in exactly 1
week~

I'm watching San Diego State pick Army apart...

(This is the real John, btw... :) )

Glad to hear that SDSU is winning. They were scheduled out on a redeye flight on Thursday that got even more delayed because of the power outage.

:p:p:p

Just had to share this. We live in Columbia, Pa and this came up overnight in our back yard!!! It is such a good thing to see the sun today!!

There are seven little bridges, two which are covered in our area. One of the covered was washed away, of the five other ones, only two are passable at this time. I cannot wait for a week from today when we fly to Seattle!!!

I have always taken a bag of Hershey's candy for our room steward. That is such a big hit!!!

Did that too when I took pillow cases to guest services to be signed.

Me too - Tinkerbell in January; Princess in February and another coast to coast! Just finished the DL half marathon with my daughter - so fun! Love both medals!

It didn't last. It's 14-14 in the third quarter... :guilty:

Whoops... I take that back. Aztecs just scored again. 20-14 now.

We're just heading out for a drive to see if we can catch a glimpse of the Wonder in drydock. Hopefully will be able to post pics later today

Love the idea of spoiling the stewards! Great idea. We've got our pillow cases packed already - a much better way to get signatures and they can sleep with it. (Autograph books aren't nearly as cuddly...)

We're going to try, but I don't think we land until after around seven Monday night. We had to keep the kids in school on Monday to minimize the homework. If we're on the ground sooner, we'll be there!

the first couple of Disneyland Halfs but since I live in Texas don't make it to the west coast. Have a great at the Wine and Dine Half - I did the inaugural last year. Lots of hiccups that they should correct for this year. I am doing the Chip and Dale Marathon Relay in January at WDW and then flying West to do the Tinkerbell Half with my daughter (her 25th Birthday and we have done the Princess 1/2 together twice, as well as the first Disneyland half) to get my second Coast to Coast medal :)

My husband had to cancel so I am bringing my friend Maureen with me. She has never cruised before and is just learning about Disney through children's eyes because of a young nephew and niece. She is not new to Disney though because she coaches for the Leukemia Society Team in Training program and her teams have done events at WDW for a long time :0

I am looking forward to the break and if I win the lottery in the next week will stay on board with my mom who is continuing on to the Mexican Riviera. We are at the Renaissance for two nights before (love those Marriott points) and look forward to seeing folks on the ship.
