Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

just heard of the earthquake on vancouver island as of 1 hour ago. I hope there were no injuries or much damage.
wow.. what a shock!

on what day?

Sorry, should have specified. Tuesday the 20th.

(This is jtiggerb's DW, Joy. Hi everyone! I've spent the last few weeks going through all the posts. Hard to keep up with it when you have a full time job and you're chasing after a toddler....):)

Starting to get really excited and have starting packing. My parent's are also coming with us, they're first-time cruisers! (This will be Justin and I's 3rd, 1st Disney)

Well, let's put it this way. I'm on Vancouver Island and didn't know there was an earthquake till my co-worker's mother phoned from Ontario to make sure she was all right :lmao:! Apparently it was centred quite a ways out to sea so probably shook up a few salmon but as far as I know, everyone on the Island is fine. Thankfully and knock wood!

Hi Joy - looking forward to meeting you all....it's fun to read thru all the pages of the thread - i just reread a LOT of them last weekend....hard to believe we're almost there!!!!

FUN FUN FUN Weekend ahead!!!! Iowa - Iowa State tomorrow - GOOOOO HAWKEYES!!!! won't be able to watch it though as it's GIRLS weekend in the City....going with 3 fabulous friends to SF in the a.m. - hanging out at Fisherman's Wharf until the GIANTS game time tomorrow night. - then lots of appts next week will really help the week fly by & should be picking up sister in exactly 1

Still packing though.....it's a slow job right now but decided to clean out my closet last night when i was trying to find some stuff....Think 10x12 walk in closet with no SPACE left....uggghhhh - i got thru just the slacks & packed up 3 boxes.

Going for my job interview today...I feel silly feeling so nervous! While I'm practically certain the job is mine, none of the details ans final "yes" have been discussed.

Wish Me Luck!!

Good Luck although I can see it was not needed....

Thank You....I start Sept. 26th! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

YAY Congratulations Rosie.

We got caught in the black out of Southern Ca yesterday. It was a long hot afternoon, and I ended up not being able to go home (I am cat sitting for a friend) due to all the people who for some reason could not drive yesterday, or figure out that when the signal lights are out, they become a 4 way stop.......

I spent part of today packing. The suitcase for the FE (and crew snacks) weights in at 43 pounds, and my clothes suitcase right now weights 23 (still needs some essentials added in before we leave next week).

Our puppy is already upset because of the suitcases coming out, but we are trying to talk our dog sitter's son into staying at our house overnight so Buddy will not get lonely and do any of the damage he did last time.

CONGRATULATIONS TO PAM AND NATE ON YOUR WEDDING. Hope you had a great day.

Have fun on your girls weekend Brenda

thank you - the four of us go back almost 15 yrs, but the other 3 go back to high school - we were all in a BUNKO group for 6 yrs & also had great times. We have some fabulous seats for tomorrow's game too.

Not right next door, because we are in an inside cabin and you have a balcony.:goodvibes But.... we should be able to touch each other's doors at the same time. Looking forward to meeting you, hubby and the girls. Make sure you bring a Fish Extender of some type. So that those of us who have extras can leave a couple of things for your girls.:tinker:

That's so awesome - thank you! We decided to make the FE gifts on our end - had some fun ideas and wanted to get into the spirit of things! (However, again, we know we're way past the deadline, so NO PRESSURE on ANYONE to oblige!!!!!)

My daughter came home tonight saying how tired she was from fourth grade, and she just "needs that cruise!" We're raising a diva.

Hey everyone, don't forget to use your "Character Calls", each reservation can have two calls!
You just have to log into your reservation on the Disney Cruise Line website, and near the bottom it should have a picture of mickey and say something about character calls. You can set up the date/time for the call or have them call right away.

We just set one up this evening to have Mickey call our DS, and made sure we had the video camera ready for it, and played it on speaker phone.

As soon as it started my son looked at me and said "how is this happening?!?" lol.
It was great, he was so happy about it!

So make sure you get those calls, even if you don't have kids, its still fun to hear. I think you can get mickey, goofy or ariel to call.

1) For the men.... what does my husband need to bring for the nicer evenings? I know he needs to dress for Palo, but also does he need slacks/dress shirt for the more formal evenings? Does he need to dress each night for the regular dinners? (And, yes, he's got his pirate gear...) He pays attention to what he wears and wants to be sure he's packing the right thing.

2) The kids want to know - are there churros on the ship?

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! The weather continues to hold up here in the Northwest, with warm sunny days and cool nights. Hopefully we'll have sunshine all the way through the Vancouver/Victoria days!

Your DH will be fine with slacks (even chinos) and a dress shirt or polo like shirt for most evenings - no formal dress night but w/e he wears to Oslo would be fine for semi formal

I dont know about the churros - I've never had one so I've never looked for them but also didn't see them :(
