Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

I am so excited! This will be the first cruise for both my 13 year old daughter and myself. But, does anybody know of any other single parents on this cruise? I would really like an "adult only" night, but don't want to do it alone.
BTW, Vancouver is my hometown, so if anybody has any questions I could probably help.
Nice Mom, Nice! :P

Hi Janice and Rosie:
Would you like to meet up one night to have a drink and dance for a bit?

Not cruise related but how do you get a profile picture????:confused3

Click on "User CP" in the upper right hand corner of your screen (underneath all of the forums). Then, click "edit avatar." Then, find the pic you want. If you'd like to get one that's NOT in the list, you can do that too. But, I always find that if I try to do it from a site like photobucket, it ALWAYS says that the remote file is too large. But, if I upload the exact same pic to my computer and then browse and select the same pic, it works fine.

Anyways, let me know if you have any problems. ;)

So...has anyone set up a Dis meet yet?

I don't think so, I would love to do a DIS meet
oh yes - a Dis Meet would be terrific!!!

My airfare is booked, my hotel in Vancouver booked....it's beginning to seem very real. :woohoo:
:cool1::cool1:we have yet to book our Vancouver hotel - but leaning towards the Pan Pacific....i hear it's the place to stay and i want a harbor view so i can watch the Wonder sail into port :)

Dianne & I are both parents sailing alone - she is a single mom and my DH won't sail so i'm a 'single' sailer LOL!!! We should set up an 'adult night'...maybe even do a group Palo event for those who are interested...???

I KNOW!!!! :yay: I can't decide what I'm looking forward to more... the wedding or our Disney Honeymoon Cruise!!! :confused3 ;)
LOL....both will be FABULOUS!!!

I'm sure we would!

Sounds like a good plan to me.....

So for a DIS meet, how about 3:00 in the Promenade Louge on embarktion day? We all should be on the ship by then, and if we try to do later than that, people get busy with all the other activities. That will give us an hour before the mandatory lifeboat drill.

Will that work for everyone?

Yes! We'll be there.

I so wanted to stay at the Pan Pacific..I just couldn't swallow the price. I eventually used Hotwire and got the Sheraton Wall Center for $154. It looks very much like a business hotel but it's only for one night and only about 10 minutes from the port.

For newbies like myself:

Promenade Lounge Promenade Lounge, an elegant Art Deco venue located on Deck 3, Aft on the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder, is the perfect place for families to enjoy a refreshing beverage or snack, surf the Internet or partake in fun activities that occur throughout the day.

Janice,,, Stephanie and I would love to do a DIS meet but at 3:00pm is the Spa tour and we wanted to take our two friends to see it. They also have a drawing for a free spa service. Could we make it for the next day since 2pm might be too early or we could do it right after the lifeboat drill? Or even between the early and late dining? Just throwing out some options.

Dianne & i will have all day monday and tuesday a.m. before boarding to 'sightsee' Vancouver...is there any "must sees" and what's the best way to get around?...i'm sure it's a beautiful city....

Another option could be to meet up in the cruise terminal. If we made it for before boarding starts, but at a time when most should be there already that could work?

How do you know these things???? :headache:

Can someone please tell me where to find more detail info for this cruise?? I mean if it weren't for the Disboards I wouldn't know about Pirate night, or semi formal night...

Don't go crazed, Rosie!! Some folks have been a few DCL jaunts and know EXACTLY what, where, and when things are. Plus, the first day Navigator will have this info (Spa tours, etc) and you'll receive that as you check in.

I say, just skip the lifeboat drill and have a drink!!!! (just kidding!!!!)

Have you booked with a TA or directly with Disney? They may not even have everything set for the various dinners and such as it still isn't even at final payment date yet. If you have booked with a TA, put that person in charge of finding this stuff out for you. If you've booked directly with DCL, you should be able to call up and speak to a reservationist and find out if there are dinner rotations set as of now.

Thanks Michael...I just feel so out of the loop. Mind you...I'm an incredibly lazy vacationer....I'd be surprised if I actually utilize 1/4 of what's offered! the research merely helps me pass the time.

Can't wait to buy you that drink! :flower3:

LOL!!! this is my 5th cruise and i've always done the spa tour and been able to hit the 3 pm Dis meet (seems that they've always been at 3)...so didn't know there'd be a conflict either...but maybe we just hurried thru the spa tour too fast :(
