Sept 19th,2004 revisited.....

I just had to check our message board! It's late and I've still got to run out to the store! Ugh!

Ladypoo: I remeber Dom too from the Golden Mickeys. She's a sweetie. Only being raised in the South, can you make YES into a 2 syllable word.... I was raised near LA -Los Angeles, CA. that is and my 3yr.old son is becoming a hick. He'll say ye-ah, they-re. How do I explain him back home? LOL! I found my daughter in your cruise album, she's in #13 of your 44pics. Robyn's right behind Dom in the lt. blue shirt and black hair to the left of the photo. My son was some where in that crowd as well. I enjoy your photos. I love the water pics. Being in INdiana I miss the ocean.

Mom to Sean and Alex: Yesterday, I was surfing the net to find other cams to get a better view of the Wonder/Magic- no luck. Thanks for providing the times to watch the twopalms cam. I'll try and remember tomorrow! I'll remember until I forget.

There's more I want to type, but I can't remember... HMMM? Well, I'll just post you all later! 'Cause you know I'll be checking our board. :wave2:

Ladypoo, I too remember seeing Dom at the Golden Mickey's. She such a cutie girly girl! You can tell she really loves those dresses. I also remember seeing her walking around the ship. DH made the comment to me that when we have a girl she will most likely be just the same way! Thanks so much for sharing the pictures.

Wow! Seems we were ALL at the same Golden Mickeys and didn't RUN IN to each other. I remember Dom, too (she's TOO CUTE!), but we had already met ladypoo & her gang by then. LOVE your pictures, too, ladypoo. (BTW, Krystina has the SAME pink dress Dom was wearing on the 1st day:p ) I wish I had gotten some good shots of Krystina with the characters, but she was afraid of ALOT of them (especially the ones with the BIG HEAD costumes~including Mickey & Minnie!). Don't know what it is. She had never been the least bit shy or timid until recently. Could it be because she's with me all of the time now (doesn't have to go to daycare anymore) or is it just something they go thru at this age?

TaeJa: After reading your post I had to go back & take another peek at ladypoo's pictures to find Robyn. What a cutie, too! How old is she?

Have a great day everyone! Check in later:wave:

Hello, yes, it's ME again! Sorry, but I keep forgetting to post this panoramic pic of CC that I "stitched" together from the pics I took of CC from deck 7 aft before we disembarked on CC for the day. I hope you all enjoy it. (Make sure you scroll all the way across to get the full effect!) Guess it would've looked nicer if everything wasn't all brown, but we'll take what we can get!:hyper: Just glad WE actually made it to CC!

Krystina'sMommy,
Thats a great shot. I did the same thing and DH "stitched" it together for me. I love that view.

I saved your pic to my harddrive Leonor. Hope you dont mind?
Amanda, how come you aint written me back GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That panormaic was really cool. Thanks for sharing!

((I'm using our laptop and its driving me crazy!))

Leonor-Thanks for the compliment on my daughter. I thought I saw my son in the pic too, and sure enough, my husband copied Ladypoo's pic and blew it up so he could get a better look. Our son Cameron (same dark hair) is sitting behind Robyn to the left. Robyn is 4 yrs. old and Cameron is 3. She's looking forward to going to preschool. As long as we've been waiting, she'll be in Kindergarden by the time the school calls us for preschool.

DISer's -I'm surprised we didn't encounter eachother at the Golden Mickey's or waiting in line to meet the Disney princesses either. Bummer. Too bad Vickie couldn't yell out, 'how many DISer's do we have tonight in the room'. I would've definately been whooping and hollaring!

Ladypoo-I asked Robyn if she remembered Dom (w/ the snow white dress on) and she said yes. I'm sure as frilly as our girls can be they got along great at the Oceaneer club.

Have you guys seen the thread about The Children's Place possibly buying out the Disney Store? It's been an interesting short thread.

Post you all later!

Thanks, guys (or should I say, gals)! I'm glad you enjoyed the picture. Not a problem at all if you want to save it! It was my pleasure sharing it.

Getting late.
:chat: Later! Take care!

Cool link thanks taeja, I missed that one somehow.
So, ok,like I know you guys are probably going to kill me, but can you believe I am not like really excited about my upcoming cruise yet? I dont know what is wrong with me, I must have a mental case or something. I know that I will have a blast once we are on board, but I also know that once we are on board the time will fly by ridiculously fast and then poof our trip will be over. No more trips after that until summer 2006. Not even any side trips to WDW as my AP expires on New Years Eve this year....I am thinking about taking a trip next Spring to IOA or something, just so we have something to look forward to that will not be so far away. My kids dont even kow about the May 06 trip incase I lose my job and we have to cancel. SO it has been a little over a month since our trip, I think we need to like make a group trip report or something since no one wants to do one! LOL We can all contribute bits an pieces....todays topic....pretrip jitters and did Hurrican Ivan affect your travel plans at all?

We planned to leave on Friday afternoon and spend Saturday at the parks. Then it started to look bad when it looked like we were going to receive a direct hit from Ivan! Yikes. I just knew that we were not going to be able to make our cruise. The 1st time in 12 years that DH and I were going and I just knew that we werent going to be able to. Than to exacerbate matters more, my Dbrother was evacuated from Destin Fla and he and his family had been with us since that Monday night. At this point we were 9 people hanging out in a small 3 br ranch style home:earseek: I took Thrusday off from owrk, and used a precious vacation day so I could get all the last minute trip stuff done. Yeah right that was happening. A lot of business closed Friday due to Ivan, and I was stuck at home accomplishing nothing except an ulcer in stomach from worry. The tornado sirens went off every couple off minutes telling us to take shelter, and my 1 yr old baby was at the sitters house. I was very torn on going to get home to have him home, or staying inside and off the roads and leaving him. I decided it was stupid to get on the raods, prayed to God to keep him and us all safe.Thank God it wasnt as bad a storm as was predicted, and by 5pm that evening I was feeling a lot less stressed. We left around noon on Friday and took our time getting there. DO you know how nice it was to drive 400= miles and not have to hear, are we there yet, hes touching me, i have to go potty, im hungry, etcetc etc! We were so used to stopping so much that we did anways! LOL We arrived to AllSatr Music around 11, and went for a late night relaxing swim.........then on to bed............TBC
Okay if you have made thru all that please ppost your pre cruise story princess:

Our pre cruise experience went like this....We were concerned about Ivan effecting our cruise. My mother in law, who was going to be traveling with us called us two times from California expressing her concern about our WONDER cruise and our trip to WDW. We were all going to drive from Indiana to Florida. Three adults and three kids ages 2, 3, and 4. As we tracked Ivan via Internet and the Weather Channel, we found out that our hotel in Melbourne, FL was severely damaged. All the hotel rooms face the beach front. After Ivan hit Melbourne we tried calling the hotel and Priceline to see what could be done about our accommodations. Luckily, we were reimbursed by Priceline before leaving for our trip. Krystina's Mommy (user name) and some other fellow DISer's from our cruise group volunteered to call us if Disney made any drastic changes to our itinerary. It was reassuring to know that some one in our cruise group would call us since we didn't know what Mother Nature had planned for Ivan. I also remember being in Georgia and my husband drove around the Atlanta area looking for a place to buy Rain-X for our windshield. He was anticipating heavy rain. We were drove around what seemed like an hour trying to locate Rain-X. My kids were got frustrated about having to stay in the van. We ended up not needing the Rain-X! We had beautiful skies with big white clouds. There was no indication of a tropical depression rain storm. As we drove South, the number of cherry picking electrical trucks increased. We would see a parades of them as we neared Florida. Interesting enough, as we traveled North to go home, we sighted similar parades of electrical trucks traveling back South-sad. Any way, We made it to Florida dry! We spent one night at the Wyndham hotel (which was nice and a lot of fun) before driving to Port Canaveral the next day. TBC

 OH man, I read Dzneprincess's pre cruise story. If you read mine, guess what, start typing your pre cruise story! NNNEEXXTTT! :hyper2:

We both work 7on/7off. We did arrange for someone to come in for us Sat. night. We finally got everything together and were on the road by midnight. We had told Misti's parents that we were going to drive to St. Augustine and stay there the night. We got there around 2-3a.m. No reservations anywhere. While driving down I-96, we started seeing the outlet mall signs. HMMM... sounds like a good exit to stop. (There is a Premiere character outlet stare there). Got off., stopped at a DAYS INN!!!!!! I knew better, but we stopped anyway. Beep beep beep.. No answer at the door. There were several other places to choose from. Sow we decided that the Best Westeren or something like that would do.. Free continental breakfast and all that. Cheap rates in the Florida traveler. 39.95 a night. Yea right. Got to the room and the smaoke alarm kept beeping and beeping. We tried everything. It still beeped even after taking the batteries out. Called front desk. The woman that checked us in couldnt turn loose and bring a new battery, so she told us to disconnect it from the wall.. After much deliberation, here I go standing up on the bedside table to reach that noisy thing. Pulling it from the wall and dismantleing (sp) it. It still beeped. We finally moved it into the bathroom and covered it in 3 towels and shut the door. It still beeped, but not as loud. Finally got to sleep and the alarm went off about 4 hours later. Got the 3 of us dressed and out to the free (continental) breakfast. Nothing to be had, not even coffee. Got on in the car and was headed over to the outlet mall.. Dang it.!!! It's Sunday. Mall doesnt open til after noon.. No way could we wait on it. A cruise was awaiting. So back onto I-95 it was. Traffic wasnt too too bad. We made good time. Got off the interstate at State road 50 I believe. Near the Super Walmart in Titusville. Drove around hunting a mialbox to send off a letter before getting to the cruise line. Hunted and hunted a public mailbox in the usual places. Finally found one off the side of US 1 in Port St Joh. Took care of business there and back towards the awaiting cruise. Made it to the Terminal around 11ish. Pretty much the first person we met was Ms. Jacqui, the cruise director and her family. pranced around and was just plain cute. From there on everytime we saw Ms Jacqui, Dom had to hug her. Took us about an hour or so to board. More later.
Patty

Taeja, robin is beautiful. Dom pranced the whole time she was in her dresses.
Leonor... Dom has never been to daycare, but she has always loved the characters. She has been going to WDW since she was 15 months old. We have never had a problem with any of them. She loves them all. The face characters and the ones with the huge masks. Even the living statue over at EPCOT, dressed all in white, face painted and everything.
I could go on and on about those visits.

It is surprising that we were at the same Golden Mickey's and didnt see one another, Misti had Dom out on the red carpet and I was holding the seats and taking pictures of her on the TV. She did have a good time.

We have just gotten back from WDW for the MNSSHP. She had a blast there, too. But it is back to the grindstone Monday. 7 long nights. Talk to yall later.

Just had to tell ya'll that I FINALLY got the postcards I mailed home to myself for my scrapbook! 2 out of 3 that is! I hope the other one comes on Monday! Had no idea it would take that long for them to get here!

I will be sure to post my pre-cruise experience as soon as I can! If we break our trip down in to small pieces like this and keep moving through the cruise, we will all have trip reports! Just take the pieces, put 'em together and wah la TRIP REPORT! LOL

So the next part should be post your boarding/1st day/night on the ship stories! Get busy! LOL:sunny:

I was signing on to tell the same news. I was starting to think that my postcard was lost forever. One month after we got off the ship and it arrived! It really made me day!

I know I too had thought it was lost forever! I *knew* I had mailed them, but DH wasn't convinced! LOL He kept telling me I must have forgotten the stamps! ;) (He saw the extra stamps I had bought and brought home! LOL

Of course like everyone else, I had been religiously watching the Weather Channel since the onslaught of Frances! Frances made her way up the eastern seaboard flooding our city, worse than it had seen in over 30 years! The flood waters receeded just in time for Ivan.... We watched with baited breath, thinking that once Ivan passed our trip would be in the clear... but OH NO... there was Jeanne. Ivan like Frances had made it's way up the eastern seaboard and again flooded our city. In a more rural part of the mountains 33 homes were destroyed and 18 people lost their lives... we didn't know what happened because the area was unreachable for a day or two due to the flooding.

I had packed the weekend before our trip, knowing that with work and such I just would not have time during the week leading up to our trip. I planned to work up to Friday, to save my vacation days for the acutal vacation! The city (Asheville, NC) was still cleaning up from the flooding that Frances brought to our area, as we watched and waited to see what Ivan brought our way..... Wedensday night into Thursday we were set for it to start trickling in..... it did.... slowly at first but by late Thursday afternoon the winds were really kicking up and the rain was coming down... the rivers once again rising quickly. I was trying to tie up some last minute details, had picked up my mom's van (she let us borrow it for our trip! better than my teeny tiny saturn!) watched the news. The worst was yet to come. It was approaching 11pm, I was actually on the disboards as the power kept dipping in and out trying to go off.... I even posted on this thread I think... see ya at the port hope I can finish my post before the power goes out! Well I had turned off all the lights, walked to our bedroom (DH had gone to bed hours ago!) and laid down, when I heard the silence..... the power had gone out I couldn't hear the fridge... opened my eyes and saw that the clocks were dark.... So I set my cell phone to alarm at 5am so I could get up and get ready for work. The wind kept DH and I awake most of the night. We would periodically get up, and stand in the back yard (not a really bright thing to do considering the vast numbers of trees around us!) and feel the force of the tropical storm force gusts.... at about 2:15 I finally decided I needed to go to sleep! The next morning the alarm woke us up, and we did the best we could to get ready for work in the dark by flash light and candle light. Thankfully we had hot water (gas hot water heater! LOL) and managed to get ourselves ready to go. I had turned on the radio to listen for school closings (I work for a day care center) heard nothing so headed out into the storm to go to work, my 2 boys in tow.

We got to work, and everything was dark! No one was there and there was no power. So I had put a couple of extra things in the van to donate to the infant class (high chair) so we dropped those off and headed off to head back to the house. I stopped at a couple of places a long the way to see what kind of flooding we were having (and it was just as bad as Frances... thankfully not worse like we were expecting!).

I made a run for my mom and I for ice... we had been without power for 12 hrs..... So I found ice, loaded up coolers and walked mom's dogs (she had back surgery, dad is a vol. firefighter was out helping w/ downed trees) for her.

Came home, and busied myself with all the last minute packing that I had set out, and decided while it was still day light to pack the van. It had stopped raining and it was just windy. Van was packed.... now I had to wait.... and wait..... it was totally boring with NO power! The kids and I played a lot, I straightened up the house so that it would be nice for our return LOL

DH came home from work, and sent me to pick up something to eat, and take our stuff from our freezer to their walk in freezer at his job (manager at bojangles). I topped of the cooler, and got us some chicken for dinner.

Saturday morning arrive.... finally!!!! We packed up and left the house by 7:30am for our drive to Florida. The weather for the drive down was beautiful! It couldn't have been better! Someone else mentioned all the utility crews... we saw hundreds of them! We saw our first ones when we crossed the NC/SC border.... and we saw them regularly from there to our exit off of I-95! We arrived in Cocoa Beach about 6pm. We got our hotel room, and took the boys to the beach for a quick visit... it was their first time to the beach and we weren't going to wait! LOL They loved it, and thought the HUGE sandbox was the coolest ;) We returned to our room and DH walked to get us a bite to eat. We were up bright and early the next morning, ready to go! We got to port about 15 minutes before it opened! Once it was our turn, I dropped DH, DS(3) off with the luggage while DS(1) and I parked the van. Check in line had no one in front of us, so it was quick and simple, and the rest was just having fun waiting for embarkation!

There's my LONG pre-cruise story!

I hadn't gotten any emails stating someone had posted to our thread over the last couple of days (since my last post). Don't know why:confused: Anyway, I decided to check the thread thinking I may have to "revive" it from page 2 or 3 of the list. Well, I was happy to see it still on page 1, but don't know why I didn't get any updates. Oh well, the important thing is, I'm here now.

Ok, ericamanda01, you are the 2nd or 3rd person who comments about the horn on the screensaver posted by tiptoen. I downloaded the screensaver & HAVEN'T heard it! Where am I missing it??????????????????????????????/

Dzneprincess: , I haven't forgotten about you. My printer is low on ink & so I haven't been able to get my pillowcase iron on transfer printed. I will try to run out today & remember to get the ink so I can ship it off (with your sign, of course!) this week.

Hey, I haven't gotten my postcards. I don't think anyone else I sent one to has either because I'm sure I would've heard from them.

Well, no pre-cruise report from me today, but I will try to get it done soon.

O.k. guys, I found this in my coupon circular and thought it was interesting. You might too. Nestle is offering a free scrabooking CD-ROM and a chance to win a vacation to WDW. I hope this link works. http://www.verybestkids.com/Brands/NestleHotCocoa/disney_specialoffer.aspx .:earsboy:

And did you know you can get automatic notification from the DIS board about private PMages? Go to Your Private Message, Edit Options, look for, "Send you an email when you receive a Private Message" and click yes. You can even click yes for a pop up box. I found this out a couple days ago. So, if you didn't know as I didn't know, now you know.

Leonor-I'm not sure why you aren't receiving any sound. I'm not a computer techie like my DH, sorry. Normally when some thing doesn't install right for me, I just reinstall the program. For your Dis board notifications, check your settings again, just in case. Hope my suggestion helps.

Side note: When ever my husband sees me working on the computer he asks me, "So, what's my little addict doing? DIS or Ebay?". As I was writting my pre board story (I forgot to mention Frances), I was watching an Ebay auction for an Eeyore sweatshirt. :earseek:

Don't thank me about the screensaver, I think it was another 9/19 DISer who found it first.

:earseek: JUST A THOUGHT: I wonder if the people on the beach of the twopalms cam know they can be seen. :scratchin:
