Sept 19th,2004 revisited.....

Good luck on your trip Dzne princess: and have a great time! Watch out for the afternoon thunderstorms. Gas prices are staying between $2.79 and $3.00 per gallon between Palm Coast and Daytona Beach so far. I haven't seen any of the stations closed or rationing yet. Have a great time. I think all will be fine.

Hello all. Sorry I havent' been on much today. My neighbors hot water heater broke and there was a small lake in the basement of our building. She felt so bad asking Eric and I for help, but she didn't know what to do. I am so glad she did, she is 75 and could have gotten hurt waling around down there. And no one would have known. I really think this building is going to fall apart soon. Oh well what are ya gonna do. We love it! I hope everyone is having a great day. And Amanda if you read this I hope you two have a wonderful and safe trip.

Greetings all my fellow disney obsessed! :earboy2: Well I am either very resourceful or cheap. I am painting the bedroom this weekend and I need new curtain rods. The ones we have are very old and black and the black paint is chipping. Well I looked at them and I realized that I could sand off the black paint and have the silver ones I want. I just know that Martha Stewart would be proud. I hope everyone is doing well and keeping your spirits up.

Hello everyone! I hope that everyone is having a good weekend. Dzne princess: , I hope that you arrived safely and are having a blast! Good for you Amanda! Your making MArtha proud!!

I am beginning to start the packing process for my cruise two weeks from Tomorrow!!!!! ::MickeyMo :wizard: I am SOOOOOO excited but having last minute jitters about paying for all the stuff on the route down there and back..... UGH!

So my mom had a question I couldn't answer. She wants to put her money on her KTTW card so that it won't be charged to a credit card. BUT if she doens't spend it all will she be able to get a refund/get her money back???

We used cash on our card last year and it worked out fine. You go to the pursers desk the night before or the morning of disembarkation and settle up and they will refund you any money not spent. I am jealous! You must be so excited. I have 9 more months to wait for my nest cruise unless I can talk my DH into going beforehand. I need to find a great deal that he can't refuse!

:flower: I'm here in spirit, but not in mind. Even I'm thinking....huh!? Some one keeps hiding the tissues! Where's the tissues?! :scratchin

T: I'm with you!! I just can't stop watching. I guess having allergies is a good thing because I've literally got a box of tissues in every room so no matter where I'm watching I always have one handy!! :goodvibes

So, what are gas prices doing in your areas now? The closest station to my house has gas @ 3.29/gal when only a week ago it was 2.39/gal! I haven't been driving around if I don't have to. Love my SUV, but I don't love all the gas it eats up :earseek: .

Anyone have any loved one in the affected areas? My sister was supposed to drive down from Florida last Sunday and thankfully they decided not to make the trip, otherwise they would've gotten stuck somewhere along the way and who knows what could've happened!

Everyone stay safe and take care!! :grouphug:

Leonor- I've been thinking about how things are going for you as you are in TX. Are 'refugees' in your area? I don't know if refugees is the appropriate name for hurricane effected people aka victims of Mother Nature.

Gas for us went down. It was $3.59 at its highest peek last week and my DH just said gas tonight was $2.99. The nation's gas prices may be lower than most countries, but I am not used to gas prices effecting my personal finances. Paying $1.15 a gallon for my van was no big deal, but now, filling up the van is like having another credit card payment to deal with. It's been roughly $50.+ to fill up the van recently.

Eeyorefan, I'm glad you knew the answer to the KTTW card question. I would've done a thread search, but I had no idea where to start. So glad you came to Jennifer's recue w/ an answer.

Well, my DS is battling taking the dogs out potty. The dogs aren't listening and he's getting frustrated. Gotta go!

Hello ladies. Well I know just what you all mean about the tissues. I have had to stop watching. I have been so depressed all week, I need to get out of it. I have sent all the money I could afford and I am collecting clothes. I just feel so guilty being able to sit and eat a warm meal in safety. But that attitude will help no one. I don't know if any of you know Mrs. Kramer. She is a dis member and she and her DH and DS lost everything. So if you have anything to send her, i'm sure she would appreciate it.http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=902880
I have to say the state of Texas is showing the country that I was right, it is the best state in the world! I have never been so proud of my home state! Now all my friends here see how wonderful and generous Texas is. I hope everyone is having a fun, safe, and wonderful Labor day weekend! I am off to paint, my bedroom needs a make over!

Gas here in my part of Florida is staying steady at about $2.99 to $3.29 a gallon. Looks like rain today. I am with all of you as for using up all of the tissues. I have donated food, clothing, and money and still feel useless. I can't stop watching though. We had no friends or relatives in the affected areas so we are lucky. After the 4 close calls to devastation last year, it scares me to think of what would happen if we were hit by a cat 5. I would definately evacuate. We are too close to the ocean. :sad2:

Hey, we're not the "FRIENDLY" State for nothing!! No, T, we have not seen any evacuees in our part of TX (you have to remember I'm all the way down by the Mexican border) yet. I think the closest ones are in San Antonio, which is about 3 1/2 hours north of us.

Amanda: How is Mason doing today? Did ya get my email?

Take care, everyone!!

Lenor, thanks so much. I sent you an email. He is much better now.

Well the gas here is at 2.79 and up to 3.09 in some places. I don't go to those places. :earboy2: I was asking DH what we should take if we ever had to evacuate. He explained to me that the only way we would have to evacuate is if the wave were over 800 feet high ( we live 2 hours form the ocean), and that won't happen. I still have a plan. We would drive east, and I have all the things we would take on a list in my mind! :p I am always planning a trip east!

Amanda, are you any where near Mt. St. Helen's or any other volcanos? My region of the state falls victim to tornados and some times we get flooding (mostly in the lower region of the state). Oh yes, my area of the state has had blizzards too. Luckily, out of the 11 years I've lived here, I have not experienced a blizzard. I think if I'm ever here for a blizzard I would be motivated to move.

Leonor, did you get some rain on Sunday?

I hope all are well. Happy Labor day. :flower:

Happy labor day everyone! The weather is beautiful here today!!! I am at work so I can't enjoy it but...... I know what you guys are talking about when it comes to evacuation. Living in Florida, hurricanes, tornadoes, and flooding are common. Fires are also a big problem. I keep all of my important thing together on a shelf in my closet so I can grab and go if I have to. I also keep a box with cash in it there too just in case. I had to use it last year so you never know.
