I can contact them next week to find out what the requirements are if anyone is interested (can't do it before, have a huge project at work that I need to finish by Tuesday when our outside accountants come in to do year end tax planning and such).

I'd be in on an Aer Lingus flight. I've been looking at them using a dummy date and they always seem to be the lowest fare. We (there will be three of us) are looking to fly over 9/16.

WAY TO GO PHILLIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Karen and I agree.

And thanks too Kimberly also, but I couldn't send a post to you because I don't have enough of them yet(something about the icon). I've been too busy today cooking for the party....to do much posting. I'll catch up next week. And thanks for sending the graphics...my daughter will love them.

I also remember that great team but I was alittle older than 10!! I followed Tug McGraw from NY to Philadelphia I am sure he is smiling down on Philly today

Thought about going to the parade tomorrow but when I heard over 1 million people:scared1: :scared1: I decided to watch it from home instead

I live in Hatboro, PA (if you are not familiar with that, most people know Willow Grove - because of the Naval Base and we are near there). My oldest son (DBK1029 - lurks but doesn't always post) is also currently from Hatboro and his fiance (TheDisneyGirl02) is currently in Allentown, PA. I say currently for Dave and Amy as they are set to get married next October and will probably end up living somewhere in-between the two places.

Not going to try for the parade but I was definitely older than 10 at that time!!! In fact, my oldest was 5!!!

I just loved Tug!!! Wasn't that touching that Tim spread some of his ashes on the pitcher's mound Saturday night before the first WS game. He was our guardian angel looking down  .

I agree.
I only wish I was in the 3rd grade when they won their last world series.....
Where in Jersey?
I grew up on at the Jersey shore.

I was a little further along than third grade myself, but it sure was a great year...I can still see Tug jumping in the air at the win! Ooh which Jersey Shore? I grew up outside of Phillie but we went to Ocean City every summer!

Thought I'd share with you all: I checked - seems to be for real:

Hey all, with Halloween coming tomorrow - I received this from my SIL who works in Costco. Not sure if its nationwide but thought I'd pass on:

BTW, I checked as I didn't want to get caught believing something and according to snopes - its true. Please be aware and inform others. Better to be safe than sorry. Thank God I got mine from Target - I usually do Sam's or Costco.

According the snopes.com this is a true claim.

http://www.snopes.com/food/warnings/coins.asp

Don' t let them eat any chocolate pirate coins!

Please take note of this Candy recall

There is a new warning put out by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency....

Sherwood brand Pirate ' s Gold Milk Chocolate coins are being recalled due to the fact that they contain Melamine, the ingredient in milk product that has caused many infant deaths in china. These candies are sold at Costco, as well as many bulk and dollar stores. please make sure to check your children¢s Halloween candy and DO NOT LET T HEM EA T THE PIRATE COINS (you know the ones wrapped in the shiny gold foil) and please let other parents know about this!

We are considering this cruise. I am very confused on how the airfare works. Can someone give me some hints? If round trip is cheaper can you just book round trip and not use the return portion? We have never traveled to Europe before so this is all new to us...

Plus will there be enough activities to keep you busy for 6 days at sea? We have never taken a Disney cruise before..

Hi There Luv2Trav:

I see your online - not super sure how the airfar is going to work but sometimes it is cheaper to book RT as opposed to one way. Last year I ended up booking a RT from Paris to Barcelona and returning Barcelona to Paris for the TransAtantic crossing. The ticket cost me $183 US dollars. The one way ticket would have cost me $723 dollars. So I booked the RT and just threw away the return portion. This is what my TA told me to do.

When your a no-show for the return portion they end up selling the seat. I've also done this domestic wise. Your best off checking both ways and deciding on your own which way is easier.

On the way to Europe last year my son, who was originally scheduled to go with us did not. We got questioned about him being a no-show and I just told him he had an emergency and was pulled out. That was all the questioning I got. So I hope this helps but definitely don't count out the RT even though you won't be using it. BTW, I just threw away the return portion of the "ticket" Hope this helps.

There is PLENTY of things to do during the sea days. It was hard for me to decide what I wanted to do because so many things overlapped. But it is also nice just to take some time and relax around the adult pool.

As for whether there will be enough activites - trust me - there will be. Assuming you have children, there are the clubs. If there aren't many children - hopefully there won't be - they'll have a blast and almost one-on-one time with the counselors. I've been on both types of ships - ones with lots of kids and ones with only about 50 kids for the whole ship - the counselors got extra close to the kids on that one.

As for adults activities, DCL will take care of its own, and just in case they have some down time, the DIS personnel will have so many activities you'll find that the DCL ones intefer with the DIS plans. Trust me - you won't have anything to worry about. Of course, this is assuming that you get involved in the thread and meet many new and exciting friends - then you always have the option of sitting by the pool and just enjoying yourself. Whatever you do, you can't go wrong.

I find myself looking for the cruises with extended sea days as the ports sometimes get in the way of my friends and I partying. You know, port days ='s getting to bed early to rise early..... - I hope this helps your fears - you'll have a blast and the price is much better than the Baltic and Med cruises - you'll get both sides of the Atlantic - European and Caribbean sides so you can't go wrong! :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone :goodvibes

Do any of you know how far in advance of our cruise will DCL list their excursions for our cruise?
I know you cant book them until the proper time but I am anxious to see what they offer.

Thanks,

Kathy

Based on how they did the excursions for the two PC Repos, I would guess they will post them sometime in Nov/Dec 2009.

There will be plenty to do! When we were on the Panama Canal EB Repo we had several sea days in a row and there just wasn't enough hours in the day to do everything that was offered. I like to hang by the pool with a good book and my Ipod and relax so I did that but DH prefers to be doing - he seemed to always be on the go. There were "Art of Entertaining" events almost every day, wine/beer/martini/tequila/rum tastings, lectures, movies, matinee performances of the evening shows - the list goes on and on.

Yes, you can purchase round trip tickets and not use the return portion BUT you have to make sure that flight over is the first leg of the trip - if you were to try and book Barcelona to JFK roundtrip, for example, and didn't show up for the first leg the entire ticket would then be cancelled.

I loved all the sea days on the PC EB Repo and am really looking forward to 6 sea days - like everyone else has said, there is plenty to do. I never felt "bored" at anytime during the 15 night cruise. It was so much fun! :cool1:
