Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repositioning Repossession Cruise

Hi all!

We have a reservation on this cruise, but I have to make a final decision today and put down our deposit. We would LOVE to do it, but the two weeks off work for DH is going to be a bit painful since he is self employed. Please give me some ideas about what you loved about transatlantic cruises if you have done them before and some things that you didn't like. We have cruised 6 times with DCL and know the boat and the service and the entertainment. I am a bit worried about being at sea for so long but many trip reports have said it is very relaxing-any thoughts on this?

Also I am a bit worried about getting good prices on airfare (we didn't reserve through Disney) Who did you use and what prices did you find? We are from San Diego, but could use Southwest to get to another airport if that is cheapest. (LA is usually cheaper than SD too)

Also I think we would want to see something else in Europe before we got on the cruise, but this would make time off longer and again a bit more painful financially. What did you do last time before that you thought was good (or bad and that we should stay away from) I saw some went to Disneyland Paris. Was that worth it?

I spent 3 days in Barcelona and about 10 days in Paris - I've got more input but my family is dragging me off here - I agree with Monica - concentrate on Paris if you must - DL Paris is just a subway ride away from Paris. Barcelona is filled with lots of history too though.

I concor re: DLP vs Paris. We stayed in paris last time and a quick metro ride we were at DLP. It was a day trip for sure. We liked some of the rides, but unlike here, they staggered opening on the rides which made us walk from one side of the park to the other and back. I was not happy about that. Also, my dd who was 9 was too short to ride indy. It was more of a outside roller coaster. Anyways, I thought she wouldn't enjoy paris being so young but she liked it more than DLP. That was a nice suprise!

Wow-thanks for all the responses! We have 2 DD's and they will be 12 and 9 at the time so I think they will definitely get a lot out of Barcelona and/or Paris if we can swing that. How did you get from Paris to Barcelona and was it pricey? Maybe we could fly into Paris and then go to Barcelona? Just trying to figure it all out. I agree the price of the cruise is amazing! We have a while to save up also. DH is a Chiropractor, but good idea about people maybe being able to cover him. We may be able to find someone to come in and cover his patients for a fee or 1/2 the cost of the office visit or something- we will have to look into that.

I am starting to think this might be a safari issue ... is anyone on a Mac able to get into the website ????

I spoke to the hosting company. They said there is no problem with the site and it has to be on the browsers. He said to delete the cache and it should work. I have dumped the site and reloaded it about 5 times now. I just updated the roll call removing cruella's info. I left a blank spot where it used to be to make sure I could pull up the most up to date info and I can pull it up.

When I switched the hosting server the other day it gave the website a new IP address. Caches have to be emptied so the new ip address can be found.

Please let me know who else is having trouble so I can get to the bottom of this.

As for DL Paris, to each his own. . . Don't get me wrong - I ENJOYED it! And would love to go back but I/we just enjoyed Paris more.

I went to DL Paris prior to the last trip and honestly don't see a need to return. I've been to all of the Disney parks except Hong Kong and Paris is my least favorite.

I agree with Monica - concentrate on Paris if you must - DL Paris is just a subway ride away from Paris.

If it's a choice between Paris and DLP, I agree and would choose Paris. Last month, we were in Paris for two weeks (10th visit), so we had time to visit DLP. We have annual passes.

We also recently visited Hong Kong Disneyland, which is smaller than DLP.

Okay I have emptied my Cache , I have deleted my history and restarted the computer and still cant get into the website

Hi Brooklyn.

When i try to get to the page from Internet explorer i get the "page cannot be displayed" error.

Thing is if i ping the website address (www.transatlanticpirates.com) it does find something since there is a reply from ip address 72.167.183.55.

Not sure if that helps at all, just wondered since you said the ip address had been changed a day or so ago?

I've tried accessing the page from IE and also Firefox. All on a windows xp machine though.

I called them again. They said there is no problem with the website. He even pulled the website up through his browser just to test it. He said it came up with no problems. He explained that it is a problem with settings in your browser and reccomended calling tech support for your browser.

He also said you can go through a website called... megaproxy.com. I looked at it quickly and it looks like you can click on "try free" He said that if you can get to the site through that link then it is your browser.

I wish I could be of more help!

I'm on a Mac, and I can't get on with any browser (Safari, Firefox or IE). I don't get any messages, it just waits and waits and never loads... even after clearing data.
