Just checking in - so nice to see so many people who have cruised together before getting to do it again...for us it was one of the main reasons we booked this cruise, sailing with our peeps!

Love the logo Todd!

Hi Lorri, Paula & Todd. Sailing with you all again is the best reason to go on this cruise!!
Hi everyone. I just wanted to let you know that I will not be able to make roll call updates for up to 72 hours. Hopefully it will not take that long but that is the worst case. I switch our hosting from windows to linux so I have to wait for them to switch everything over before I can upload any updates.

Keep emailing them though. I will work on them as I get them. Then when the account is up and running again I will have the file ready to upload. Just don't worry if you do not see your stuff up there in the next day or so. I promise I will have it up there as soon as I can. :thumbsup2
The website is awesome. I will send you our info soon.

I know some of you are seeing red x's or ?marks , I deleted one of the files and added the new one

Hi Laura -
Paul & I are booked on both the WB TA Repo and the last Med cruise - this is going to be another TOAL!!! I think there are more of the EB PC pirates that have also booked - Monica - Paula from New Zealand - Cheryl - BIP/Shelley - that come to mind.
And the others posting here that are new to me seem to be a FUN group - I think this is "TOAL 2" !!

P.S. - TOAL = Trip Of A Lifetime!!! to those who wonder what the He** I'm talking about!

OOoohh, can I use one of these signature logos?

We just switched today from the EB to the WB, so it looks like we'll be sailing with you all.

We are:

Me, DH, and 2 DS (13 and 9 as of the time of sailing)! This is our third Disney cruise and our first time overseas. Excited and nervous at the same time! :thumbsup2

:welcome: Aboard Mate

Hi Gang,

I've noticed that some of you are discussing air fares to Europe and going over to Barcelona a few days earlier and checking into hotels and DCL accomocdations vs. finding independent lodging - etc.

I had only been to England before - last year I went by myself to go on the WB TA. I booked late - when DCl put the cruise on sale. So, I researched airfares (Aer Lingus had the best fare) - I flew from SFO to Dublin then onto Paris. Researched lodging in Paris and I stayed 2 days at a hotel near the Lourve (great rate!) - I LOVED Paris - then took the overnight train to Barcelona. Didn't have to book lodging as the Magic didn't leave until the next day. However, a number of Dis'ers had gone straight to Barcelona and booked lodging independently - and got some great deals - someone mentioned renting a small apartment through a website at a great rate!

Anyway - my point is that our cruise is almost 2 years away - there is plenty of time to research both lodging alternatives and travel deals. And there is alot out there.

We are (hopefully) going on the last Med cruise before the Repo - but DH Paul wants to arrive early and stop in England and France on the way to Barcelone. So, I again will get to research "deals" - and there are lots out there!

We are keeping a file of things to check out as the 1 year mark gets closer. Although, I loved the hotel I stayed at last time in Paris and Barcelona. But I think i've found another hotel in barcelona that looks cool too. Rates seem less to me this time than 07...lets hope they stay that way since we're there in september!

We can only hope that the US economy improves and the US/Euro exchange rate is more favorable in 2010!!
I am a research maven - I spend way too much time checking out Everything!! I'm sure I'll have tons of fun checking out excursions options for all the Med ports along w/London & Paris. And w/our Dis friends who have already been there/done that - are a great resource!!
We're about to have Tons of Fun in 2010 !!!!!!

....hmmmmmmmmmm.....why do you suppose my sister stopped by this thread.....and then ADDED THE LOGO TO HER SIGNATURE :confused3 Think she's trying to tell me something? Think she's trying to tell us all something?......hmmmmmmmmm.....

.

Um, BIP, Paula sailed with us on the PC cruise. Could it be that thread that you are remembering her from?
LOL
Sorry for not saying it exactly correctly-ofcourse I know she went on the PC cruise... I was just saying I didn't realize she went on the 2006 cruise- same as us. If that is indeed the case but for some reason when she mentioned it I was like whoa... I think she went on the same cruise as our first one too and I'm just now realizing that? LOL

Thanks for the smaller sizes! (and the black background versions too) I need to get cracking adding one to my sig line!

you need to become my new best friend... so I can spend a little LESS time checking out excursions options for all the ports. LOL
;)

testing out sig line
It saved as png which thru me for a loop but hopefully it worked!
Okay it worked but I wonder why it made my tink show only half of it and the PDFG is completely missing.
I've noticed a lot of sig lines has the bottom half of the images gone- I assumed it was because they were too big. But this really makes no sense why adding the sig image altered OTHER stuff like the tink and PDFG. hmmm I'll have to work on figuring this out!

Okay had to go with the tiniest version of the banner- since the medium totally obliterated my tink and stuff. LOL I guess this will work. Anyone who doesn't know what it is and needs to read it can just get out their magnifying glasses. LOL
I need to somehow figure out how to get the banner for the med cruise right before the TA to put on there too.. it's all up INSIDE captain's signature with his pictures and stuff... so I can't snag it. ;)

awe I really know how that feels. Unfortunately I have one of those category 11 rooms. I was fortunate to be on the Magic in room 6647 when they announced the 2010 itineries. We went to the seminar and were able to fill a a request for quote which put us at the top of the waiting for the price list.

Then it was wait and see. We waited anxiously for a call all morning by 2:00 we had heard nothing and all the #11's were sold out my heart sank :(

I knew we could not book on line for a handicapped accesible room so we were stuck until I heard from disney.

So I called Disney and they had already booked it and told me I had 24 hours to pay the deposit of course I payed then and there.

Did you tell disney that you wanted to be put on wait list for a category 11.

I hope the newer ships have more rooms. There a too few on the wonder and magic. And the jump from the 11 to 8 just does not seem far :(

I have no idea what handicap 11 room I am getting. Wishing you all the best of luck. The reason we like this one is because it is not port intensive.

I find it so hard to know what excursion I can go on so we never book anything. But on the good side hubby makes up for it by taking me jewlery hunting :)

Hoping it works out for you :grouphug:

Don't say unfortunately!! You need it, so good for you that you got one! :thumbsup2

I somehow doubt the newer ships having more rooms, but that might just be me. Hope so. ;)

I'm not that opposed to port intensive. Would've actually liked to do the Northern Europe one, if they weren't asking both my liver and kidneys for it. I tend to make sure my basics are covered (room, transportation to ship) and then see from there. I'm used to winging it somewhat -unfortunately Europe isn't as accessible as the US)- so don't blink too much about doing that when travelling neither. Heck, I do this stuff solo if that's the way things go and most people seem to think I'm out of my head to combine the two. :confused3

About excursions; if you've got 'a good sense of humor' you can do a lot on your own in Barcelona etc. It's not the US, but if you keep that in mind and can go with the flow, there is enough you will be able to do, see and go. :goodvibes

Take DCL transport if you can, though. Accessible transportation can be arranged, but it is more headaches and costs. Flying also shouldn't be as challenging as it could be with airlines other than US-based anymore. Since summer we've got legislation for flying with a (mobility) disability, which does make things easier.

How was 6647 by the way? A friend of me and I will be right down the hall in 6654 next year. After seeing pics of it, I can't wait!

Now all I need is some magic cat. 11 cabin to appear, preferably soon! ;)

Update; I've got a handicapped cat. 11!!! :thumbsup2 Downside; it's on the Eastbound TA and I prefer the Westbound one. So, tomorrow next round of hoping for pixiedust. Had the best CM ever and he gave me some great tips and tricks to uptimize my chances of getting one on the Westbound. Come on luck, let me get lucky one more time. :)

Thanks :)
Can't believe we have only got a few specials and just 1 week of Torchwood to last us a whole year !!!

They were filming down next to where I work a few weeks ago for the next series. Tredegar Park/House gets used all the time. My brother in law met David Tennant and saw Catherine Tate before.

:goodvibes Thats too cool! :cool1:
I really REALLY think they need to do a NEW England story and come film it over here!

Good morning all! I have a question for all of you that have previously sailed a TA w DCL; Were you able to get into Palo alot? I have hopes that since the last TA returning from Europe wasn't a full cruise, I can get extra Palo time! LOL.:cool1:
And another question- will we be allowed to buy wine from ports and then have them hold it for us? How much did they allow?
My dad loves Madiera/Port and I'd love to have a couple of cases for him.
Thanks!

We were able to get into Palo more, but only one extra time and it was the last minute kind of thing - not during the intial booking/excursion time booking. Also, I am under the assumption that DCL will NOT allow you to bring alcohol from ports on board. They do not allow it at other ports. They do sell alcohol on board by Diversions so they might have it there, but there was no alcohol allowed.

Don't say unfortunately!! You need it, so good for you that you got one! :thumbsup2

We it was unfortunate for you I still think I won the lottery :) I have never had an upgrade or anything special ( No special room rate codes from Disney etc.) So I think is was just awesome I got one.

Yeah :thumbsup2 yeah. :cool1: Now could you PM me with those tips and tricks so I can know also. This time was plain luck but would like to know for next possible cruise like the new release of the new ships. Thought TA was tough can not imagine trying to get a room for the new ship :)

I'm sure with all the days at sea we should be able to get some extra brunches in for SURE!
Does anyone know how many they allow you to book online prior to the cruise?
