I'm terrified right now and reaching out to anyone and everyone.

There was just a home invasion 2 doors down from me this morning. I heard someone yelling for help, looked out and saw a woman running down the street. I had her come in my house and we called 911. Apparently she was getting ready ot leave for work and went back in the house for something. The guy followed her, brandished a gun and started beating her up. Not sure if he was there to attack her or to rob her. I did see the guy running down the street but didn't see the gun. He roughed her up a bit but she got away but she made sure to wipe her blood on his clothes. Who thinks of that when fighting for their life?

Even more horrible, my DS was right there with me the whole time. We were waiting for his school bus which is why I had the front door open, the screen/security door was still closed though. His bus came before I had a chance to reassure him that it will be okay.

It happened at the same time in the morning that I'll be leaving for work. And this is when my DS's bus comes too. We've had breakins before in the area but usualy when no one is home. My house was broken into once and attempted another (found a busted window). But this is the first I'm hearing of anything this frigtening. And now I'm connected. I hope there won't be any backlash to me. The guy did see what house she ran in to.

Oh my goodness, how scary! Were you able to give a description of the guy to the police since you saw him running down the street?

I don't know what to say and I was in shock when I read your post. Please know that I'm thinking about you and your neighbor. :grouphug:

Oh, Monica, I can't even imagine how frightening that must have been! And your poor son. I hope he's OK and your neighbor, too. She certainly had a lot of presence of mind to wipe her blood on him. It seems like he must have been pretty desperate to attempt this kind of thing in broad daylight! I pray they find him soon and get him off the street.

Hi everyone!

I've really been out of the loop lately. My mom had a stroke on Monday night and is still in the hospital. :sad1: Any spare thoughts and prayers are appreciated!

Thanks -

Krista

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I'm sending a big  and lots of prayers and hopeful thoughts your way.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers.

My mom is moving from the Stroke Unit to in-patient rehabilitation today. She is hanging in there. The stroke did not affect her mind or speech (thank goodness), but has affected her left side. She will be getting intense occupational and physical therapy.

Life can change in an instant, that is for sure!

I will try and catch up with the thread sometime this weekend, but I hope everyone is doing well.

Thanks again! :)

Krista

i just picked my dog up from the vets she had a tumor removed yesterday, she looks like she is doing good. New Jersey is the number one state for humans and dogs for getting cancer and tumors. thats why we are called the garden state all that good nuclear soil helps the vegetables grow.

So glad to hear the good news - this is a good prognosis, keeping speech and right-side ability (I assume she is a righty). I used to work in a neuro ICU and had patients who stayed for very long periods of time. She is moving quickly toward recovery. Keep encouraging her.
